Brooklyn Nets:
In: LaMarcus Aldridge
Out: Kris Humphries + Marshon Brooks + Draft Picks

Portland Trailblazers:
In: Kris Humphries + Marshon Brooks + Draft Picks
Out: LaMarcus Aldridge

The trade has been approved by ESPN trade machine:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=9wwbwmy

Why would the Nets do this?
They badly need a qualify PF to play next to Brook Lopez, the style of LaMarcus Aldridge complements Brook Lopez nicely since the former shoots a lot of mid-range jumpers while the latter tends to post up. I do not know how good Aldridge is at pick n roll, but hes young and can easily learn this with Deron. Deron also loves to play with a PF, Aldridge is an upgraded version of Boozer(though worse at rebounding maybe). The Nets do not have many trade assets besides Humphries expiring contract, but this one alone can make them a contender if used properly.

Why would the Trailblazers do this?
For the Trailblazers, it is about time to build around Damian Lillard, so establishing him as the team's clear #1 option is necessary. The 2014 NBA draft is gonna be really good, the Trailblazers can not only get additional draft picks from Nets, but also tank itself to Andrew Wiggins by trading Aldridge away. Humphries contract expires next season, which will be good for the Blazers. On the other hand, on a new team Marshon Brooks can improve beyond his rookie season's accomplishment if the coach gives him more chance, he can easily become a 16/3/3 player right next to Lillard.

So the Blazers give up the best piece they have to put around Lillard to get raped by Humphries contract, recieve Marshonn "Kobe" Brooks (sucks), and some draft pick that probably won't be lottery? Nah. Portland gets voluntarily raped in this trade and makes Lillard less likely to stay. I just don't get it, Portland gets considerably worse, Nets get considerably better, and,.. yeah thats it

For the Trailblazers, it is about time to build around Damian Lillard, so establishing him as the team's clear #1 option is necessary. .

So it's not possible to build around both Lillard and Alridge? This would be probably the most lopsided trade in NBA history or close to it.

Even if they got Wiggins.

Wiggins will be injured. Portland have a curse for #1 or #2 picks

No Evans!

What? I'm a Nets fan and would love that. But the Blazers would never do that. If they decided to trade him, they could get way more from someone else.

If the Nets had kept their draft pick last year, they could have picked Barnes or Lillard.

Oops.

This is a terrible trade that Portland would never do. How is this building around Lilliard, giving up a complimentary player at another position that compliments him? And Marshon Brooks, that ship has sailed, he has very little value. The Nets basically demonstrated night in and night out they didn't value him at all. Why would other teams value him?

Stephen A Smith said the assets the Knicks used for Bargs could have been used to get Aldridge. :facepalm That would be about equivalent to this trade.

yeah sure- a future 1, 2 2nds, And 10 million of bad contracts could have gotten Aldridge. That. SAS is really stupid and thinks ita good for his character to trash the knocks owner and Carmelo right now. If you didn't already know the guy is stupid listen to what he thinks of mike woodson
