Too much like boots for me, he likes the heavy air max / timberland inspired designs. Way too heavy for my game. Plus, I like mids and lows. With that said I didn't mind the LeBron 2s, LeBron 9s, LeBron 10s ... I think these 11s look decent, just too much of a high top. It looks stealth / F-22 inspired. I'm just tired of all the now obnoxious ghetto "look at me" screaming colorways.

i think KD and lebrons are the best basketball shoes but i know that most people who buy these shoes don't play basketball. You can find better looking shoes that are way cheaper if you don't play basketball. very few jordans are as good as new lebrons and KD line-up when it comes to playing basketball.

I have a friend who buys most of these. i just borrow his kd IV. These are pretty good looking if you are a lebron fan and have to buy a good looking shoe. i have no idea about the performance.

KD IVs feel great though and i have only heard good things about it from others people who play basketball.Nike LeBron X (10) are also really good for playing basketball but they are way overpriced. Not true, at all really. From a playing perspective, the 11s, 12s, and especially 13s are as good as anything.

An advantage pre 2009 shoes have on all current kicks, is ACTUAL leather. Not mesh, or plastic, or synthetics that break down easily. MJs shoes were made of actual leather, thus MORE durable, and actual better stability too.

Most of the expensive shoes from lebrons line are really great for playing basketball.If i am not wrong, most places gave those Nike LeBron X (10) the best performance ratings for any shoe. they are way overpriced though. The "ELITE" Nike lines like your LeBron 9's are better, but it's pathetic Nike is now jacking up the elite price an extra $75 - $100 for better material, more leather (durability) ... and now this year with the LeBron X and KB 8 Elites, the zoom cushioning. I've heard the ELITE LeBron 9s were nice. Too high a cut for me, but the homes and aways both looked good.

Me too. As a guard, I like to be light, quick, flexible ... lows and mids provide that. When I wear high tops, I feel restricted, and slow.

No, they lack zoom cushioning. The elites have them, but you have to pay through the nose to get them. Plus the obnoxious colorways, and snake pattern don't make them versatile enough to wear playing or casual with most outfits.

The Nike Zoom Kobe 4s > Nike Zoom Kobe 6 >> Kobe 1, Kobe 2, Kobe 3, Kobe 5, Kobe 8

The Kobe 7s were the worst though, they blister up people's feet like crazy. They are still readily available for cheap prices because of it. Honestly there should've been a class action lawsuit against Nike for these atrocities.

Some people make enough money they can afford to buy any colorway of a shoe they want. For some it's a hobby or what makes them happy. For some it's a cultural thing, where even it might not be wise in THEIR situation to spend that kind of money on things like shoes.

If it's for hooping, you have a point. I wear my kicks out quick, so I buy the ones I used to ball @ the Nike outlet. If it's for fashion or collecting purposes then that explains why some people do it as well. I used to buy EVERY colorway of the Jordans when they released. It taught me from an early age to save money to get something I truly wanted. And I worked for my money, it wasn't just an allowance. Those shoes I bought were treasured, a manifestation of my hard work, and I took great care of them too. The sneakers may just be shoes to you, but them mean different things to different people.

For me if I were to buy some AJ retros now, it would be about the nostalgia. The memories, it's about shoes that were worn by my favorite player ever. That kind of stuff gets lost on people.
