This is pretty golden coming from a Pacers employee.

I'll let George Hill explain why.

"It's very disappointing," Pacers guard and Indianapolis-native George Hill said. "The fans show up when we play the marquee teams, but they show up wearing the marquee team's clothes. We feed off them."

Well the Heat are one of the most watched teams,if not the MOST WATCHED Team in the League and usually have very high ratings on SunSports the local channel and Heat games are almost always sold out, regardless if the people come late or not, people buy tickets Which well are the MOST EXPENSIVE TICKETS IN THE LEAGUE,And Heat have some of the Highest selling Jerseys and

the Pacers well EVEN NOW,WHEN THEY ARE GOOD,NOBODY,NOBODY SHOWS UP or WATCHES PACER GAMES.

Its one thing to not show up when your team sucks,(Kings,Bobcats,Pistons,76ers)and so on,so theres a reason, buuuuut

The Pacers have been in the playoffs 3 Years straight, and were 3rd seed Last Year, and 3 this year and ARE IN THE ECF,Yet Nobody shows up or Watches games. The Pacers have very Low attendance and ratings, and its not Like TIX are Expensive or the team Sucks,They are good yet nobody watches them or buys Jerseys or goes to the games. Its like a Bobcats games where the Fans who do show up are usually Fans of the team the Pacers are playing.

And the Pacers arent some low inept Franchise or Young like the Heat,Grizzlies,Raptors,or have been out of the playoffs for a decade or more,
theyre well built and had good management.

They were good from the 90s to 04 than after the malice, they tore it down and built this team with the help of Larry Freakin Bird and have gotten better each year with these players, and its not like their thugs or are known for any crimes or anything, they have two rising stars in PG,and Roy and a solid cast, yet Nothing.

The Pacers dont havemany fans, much less Even a Bandwagon,

though if they beat the Heat they will get a new bandwagon of fans, like Dallas did and all of a sudden Dirks popular and the MAVS are Relevant

It's weird because Indiana is such a basketball hot bed.

I think fans in smaller markets have just hit a breaking point and figure their teams can never seriously compete for a title.

If the Pacers could beat the Heat this year it would start something big there for sure.

nobody would know or even care who Paul George or Roy Hibbert or the Pacers are, just playing Miami makes the Pacers somewhat relevant and gives them a spotlight and a chance to shine, without Miami the Pacers could be in the ECF now and nobody would give two craps about them, they would still Focus on the other team. Its like when DALLAS played nobody watched for Dallas but for SA,OKC,LA,MIA And then when they beat the HEAT,THEY WERE SOMEBODY and Relevant and great and dirk was all of a sudden from soft, jumpshooting,no defense pf to clutch king, one of greatest pf and players

yet Nobody was talking about the Mavs,it was still ABOUT MIAMI,and as people saw Dallas went from relevant to obscurity in a span of a year and nobody cared.

Right nowINDIANA DOES NOT DESERVE A GOODTEAM LIKE THESE CURRENT PACERS,give this franchise to ST Louis,Seattle,Montreal, anybody besides Indy, when youve been good and steadily improving year after year and nobody shows up or cares and roots for the other team, yeah its time to move.

football sucjs. i dont like watching sports that have as much commercials as playing time
then why do you watch nba? 48 min game that is at least 2 hours or more on pretty much most nights unless it is a blowout and even then it is close to 2 hours.
You should learn how to count and how to subtract so that you can find out the actual play time.

Indy, being a largely white conservative state, probably lost a lot of interest in basketball as it entered thug territory in the early-mid 2000s. I know a lot of older people that stopped watching after Jordan because of what the sport became.

And Indy doesnt have a head player to market.. theyre just a great team.

Which I find utterly hilarious because I highly doubt there were many Dirk,Mav fans before they beat the heat but hey it would be wrong to assume and accuse but eh.

And I like watching a competitve series, and diversity and new teams becoming good and all,so it doesnt bother me,I just dont like when my team loses,I doubt any fan of a team likes when their team does now.I really dont give a damn how they win,but that they do win.

nah, i remember. But even then it was a little ridiculous how people judged his career of that one bad series in 07. dont get me wrong, he deserved criticism for that but dirk has done countless of great things in the playoffs yet no one pays attention. i see that same thing in flash31

mavs and dirk are irrelevant to those who only watch the lakers or heat. not for real ball fans, who know a great player when they see one and actually pay attention to the league instead of espns top 10

1 bad series in 2007?

That was an all-time embarrassing level performance w/ a roster capable of winning 67 games, winning an MVP trophy and then losing to a number 8 seed and not even playing well enough to push it 7 games.

Don't minimize it, Dirk collapsed in 2006 and didn't put his team on his shoulders in the 2006 Finals like Wade. And couldn't even do it the very next season in the 1st round against a number 8 seed being guarded by Stephen Jackson.

Let's not revise history, here.

i KNOW ALOT ABOUT BASKETBALL AND THE NBA

GO back to before 2011,and see the dirk is just a jumpshooting soft pf,DIRK TEAMS CANT WIN CHAMPIONSHIP,The ESPN,Media saying DIRK IS SOFT,unclutch, choker, the loss to the warriors, the heat after being up 2-0

After 2011,Dirk went from that to from the media and insidehoops
GOAT SHOOTING BIG,One of the greatest pf and players, and everybody was doing the Dirk fadeaway, calling him clutch,a winner,a leader, just go back and read and listen and watch
the media and threads from before he won
to after

Its like a whole 180 degree turn perception of him

And yes watch the 2011 playoofs, nobody was picking DAL,or cared about DAL,or though they would win the nba finals after they did,and when they did,DID people talk about DALLAS WINNING,NO THEY TALKED ABOUT MIAMI LOSING

And now this year,Where were and was the hype, talk, threads, media buzz about DALLAS,NOWHERE

Have you ever been to an NBA game? I'm guessing not.

They generally don't lend themselves to a rowdy, self-sustaining crowd. There is constant music blaring, with a overwhelming attack on the senses. Almost constant video and audio overload coming from all directions in the arena at all times.

College basketball crowds are much more a representation of genuine emotion, homegrown cheers, etc.

And American football? Forget about it. I've been in Ohio Stadium with 110,000+ other football fans and you literally cannot hear yourself think.

Somehow, I don't think cheering for sports is a regional talent. It is a pretty easy goal to accomplish if you get enough interested people in one place at the same time.

It must be those Forbes magazine editors and writers that's trying to beat the traffic.. Miami is apathetic sports town.. South beach is probably my favorite place to party in the country.. I live in NYC, I been to Chicago, Las Vegas, la, Boston, dc, Orlando, Tampa, New Orleans and Miami is the best party town .. But their sports town status is fugazi..

Everyone was leaving for club space or wet lilies, or tootsies .. They don't care about great basketball
