View Full Version : Paul George Exposed

Like others have said previously, he's nothing more than a second/third option on a contender and has been severely overrated in these playoffs, and tonight's game pretty much proved it.

Not really exposed, the Pacers were killing the Heat inside with Hibbert/West inside. 54 points in a half should have had them satisfied if they didn't play such horrible D.

3rd they try to get George going and go away from the pick and roll, he plays Hero ball and the Pacers can't score. Bad coaching IMO.

He is so overrated. Can't believe folks are putting him above Melo. He isn't even as good as Granger. No consistency and limited moves

Kid is young, he'll get better with time. Media is giving him alot of attention that has to live up to, but he is getting a little overrated right now.

I'd take him over Melo for his defence alone. Whatever Melo gives on one end he takes away on the other.

I wouldn't say overrated because he's a young guy and plays for a small market team, but I saw ESPN say he's a top 10 player in the league and people called him a superstar here. He's too inconsistent in his scoring right now.

3/10 from the field tonight. He's gonna be multiple all stars/all nba teams someday, but he's not yet in that level of a legit franchise player. This guy is getting some Superstar treatment in the last few games.

...if you factor in defense and honestly think that, i have no idea what to tell you. he's certainly a star. needs to improve his ball handling and ability to shoot off screen but he's a third year player where he's only gotten the reigns as the lead player in his late second year.

he's worked to improve his game every year and on the verge of becoming a top 10 player. like i said, if he improves the above, he's right there. definitively didn't have his best game last night but you're lying if you don't think he forced lebron into some tough shots. he's asked to guard the best player in the league and be the main scorer/initiator on offense. he had as many assists as the rest of his team combined.

so ya, he's right there and plenty of teams would kill to have him on their team. might not be a lebron, KD, harden or elite PG....but still. let's not act like he has no impact. give PG bosh or wade and see how the tables turn.

He is a really well rounded player and he is only 23 years old.
In the near future he is gonna be a top 5 NBA player.

He is no Lebron but you can't cherry pick a bad game, especially when LBJ was the less efficient starter on the Heat.

Lebron has been abusing him this series.. I've seen melo do better against lebron.. Knicks already have a better defender in iman Shumpert

A lot of us on this site need to learn that every player has good games as well as bad games and should be judged by the totality, not just his last performance.

Not really, George was lighting LeBron up whenever LeBron guarded him before tonight. He shot like 10-13 against him.

George is actually mostly guarded by Wade, while LeBron takes Stephenson or the SG at the time.

LeBron dominated George down low last night, I'll give you that.

All you folks who are criticizing George would salivate to have him on your team. Only 23, long, athletic, capable of playing multiple positions, hard-working, cheap with a very high ceiling.

No one is saying that he isn't an excellent player with a bright future.

The problem was the overrating over the past couple of days that had him being favorably compared to players who had proven themselves for years.

:lol at some of you playing the age card, but but he's only 23:lol at 22 melo was averaging 29/6/4 on 48%. George is not now nor will he probably ever be top 5. Very good player and all star but top 5?

George has gone from underrated to overrated this season. He's not at Melo's level and I doubt he'll ever be a top 5 player. He's a 40% shooter from the field. He had the hot hand for the first two game and that was it. Yesterday's 3-10 performance is closer to his norm. He's not a superstar.

I am not agreeing with OP that lebron exposed George but the fact that george only took 13 shots when lebron was guarding him tells a lot.

I'm as much of a Heat homer/LeBron stan as anyone else, but there's nothing to disrespect about the Pacers. Class organization top to bottom. Legit team and George is a legit star.

I have nothing but respect for the Pacers and their fan base. Best series of 2013.

Paul George has only been in the NBA 3 years and he's a good player. He's not a Lebron type player but with hard work he could be one of the faces of the NBA.
