Lebron b/c he hogs the ball to fill his stats to make himself look better even if he doesnt win and the cost of his teammates. Kobe does it to win
Think that is the first time in my life ive seen somebody call a point-forward/point-guard who is way to often even unselfish for his own good... for a ballhog.... a guy with that role "ballhogs" to do GOOD for his team/teammates.... not bad.... a guy like that is loved by his teammates and coach...
Ballhoging is when you are doing something detrimental for your team, a selfish non-efficient guy using the ball the entire game to chuck shots and hence alienate teammates and waste offensive possessions like that is a prime example.... a guy like that is usually recieving complaints from his teammates very often and even coach....
...and im sure you can see the results in the impact and success between two different examples nowadays....
Easily Lebron. The guy brings the ball up the court...dribbles dribbles dribbles little flop dribbles dribbles dribbles calls for a screen....kicks out to a shooter and the cycle continues

That is still more things and less detrimental than bringing the ball up and bricking 24-7....

kobe and jordan combined for 11 rings while lebron and bird for 4..
Lebron is worse coz he cares about stats than winning while kobe really is an overachiever.

This season, Kobe
For their careers, Lebron.
I thought Lebron had turned it around this season, with the great unselfish team ball that the Heat were playing during their streak. But it's reverted back to Lebron Cavs ball in this series

How much would you pay for lebrons mouth guard?

So true, he's playing terrible team basketball right now. Dribble the ball at the top of the key, drain the clock, and then jack up a shot or bulldoze his way to the hoop - dishing off an errant bailout pass if shit gets real. The only added dimension to his game now vs his Cavs days is somewhere in action he's liable to throw down a vicious flop now. Everything else looks the same. He's trying to belittle and carry a team of HALL OF FAMERS on his back now - bad strategy - I'm not surprised with Wade's recent comments (aimed at LeBallhog) about not getting the ball. He's being treated like Mo Williams out there. D-Wade, treated like a spot up shooter? Lebron isn't even allowing D-Wade to play into his strengths, Wade has always been a terrible shooter but Lebron is robbing him of opportunities to showcase his actual abilities. Lebron is clogging the lanes, stagnating the offense, and we all think he's playing great by padding stats. Watching the games tells another story though. He's not playing good team ball this series.

Agree, if the Heat were utilising everybody properly then this series would be over already. No way the Pacers can hang with them in terms of talent.
As great as Lebron is, a one man show is not hard to beat in the playoffs with a prepared opponent. It's no coincidence other ball dominant players like Kobe and Jordan have 11 rings combined running the triangle, and 0 rings without.

Easy question. Kobe by far. 2004 Finals dude jacked his team out of the series. Same with 2008 and in 2010 in Game 7, he went 6/24. He had a season where he averaged 27.2 FGA/game.:wtf: LeBron by contrast is clearly a better player due to his passing and playmaking ability and shot selection. LeBron never forces low percentage shots over double/triple teams to the detriment of his team.

You're right. He waits until there's 4 seconds on the shot clock and throws it across court and creates a difficult shot for one of his teammates.
He's a stat padder like the world of sports has never seen. We are all witnesses.

Just because he has the best stats of anyone to ever play the game doesn't make him a "stat padder." Gaudy stats are the mark of a truly elite player. I mean, what is he supposed to do? Purposely score less, rebound less, pass less, jack up low percentage fadeaways while being doubled so he can bring down his efficiency and have worse stats? Having crazy stats is a good thing, not a bad one. Being inefficient and shooting too much HURTS your team, however.
LeBron demands the ball as much as Kobe:
LeBron Usage Pct 31.7
Kobe Usage Pct 31.8
"Stat padder".. If stat padding made you as good of a player as Lebron, why won't everyone just do it?

current post season averages has lebron at 17.6 and 8.5, roughly the same

LOL at this.
Just last night was another example of Lebron not giving a Fukk about trying to go for a legendary game 7. In the first five minutes of the game, he let Wade and Bosh try to find their rhythm. The first play of the game was a play call made by Lebron to get Wade open under the rim (and it worked, but Hibbert was there and scared Wade away).
"Stat padder".. If stat padding made you as good of a player as Lebron, why won't everyone just do it?
Nobody ever said stat padding is what makes him a great player though. What makes LeBron great is his speed, strength and jumping ability, he's an anomaly of biology, he simply cannot be stopped because he's a 6'8" 270 pound freak of nature with the speed and agility of a 6'4 200 pound point guard. He's bigger, stronger+faster than literally anyone on the planet.
This is what people mean when they talk about LeBron stat padding:
- Instead of leaking out for fastbreak, he swoops in to steal rebs from his big
- refusal to take buzzer deeper than 25 feet to protect his individual efficiency
- hogging when game is out of reach
- hogging against the bench unit of the opposing team
-passing over and over and over to get the assist for a triple double
- compromising fast-break opportunities just to intercept a rebound that his teammate was already in a position to grab.
I lost count of all the times I've seen LeBron fly in to steal an easy board that his big could've gotten. It got so bad in Cleveland that guys like Varejo and Big Z would simply clear out for James to get the rebound. Also it annoys me when guys play their FG%....Who gives a shit, as the best player there are certain shots you have to take.. James is the king of deferring especially when he see's a few of his shots not go down. No matter how many shots you miss as the best player you dont pass up on makeable looks at the rim, or opportunities to score for the sake of saving you efficiency. Nobody gives a shit about efficiency, we dont want the best player on our team playing like a coward because he's afraid he'll miss another shot and lower his FG%. What good is efficiency in a losing effort?..... Efficiency is not worth your best player taking his foot of the gas and not leaving it all on the floor....efficiency only matters if you've taken the shots you should be taking as the best player. It doesnt mean a thing if you passed up good looks or played tentatively and deferred a lot.
LeBron admitted himself he likes to pad his stats, he even has competition with Wade about their individual FG%.
He almost never takes bailout shots, he just passes it to another teammate. He's way too concerned with his stats.
Many times you will see him rather other players take the bail out shot rather him, because he does not want to hurt his FG%. He is the best player of their team, he should be the one talking it cause has has the better chance of making it. Be real LeBron fans, you know Bron likes to pad his stata.. He even has check my stats shirt printed.

You see, stuff like this isn't true - this is pure promotional hype from the NBA's exceptional marketing affiliates that is bought by fanatics :oldlol:
1. Lebron is about 260, not 270 - 10lbs isn't much discrepency but you know, a little exaggeration here and there counts when your trying to be factual
2. Lebron is definitely as FAST as most 200lb point guards which is damn impressive, but on sheer physics alone he most certainly isn't as quick or agile. The most accurate thing that can be said is he is fastER (top speed) than your typical 260lb player. His agility for that size is impressive too. But it is definitely not comparable to 200lb players. A 35 year old Kobe this past season, at 205lbs, was more agile than Lebron. Let alone any younger version of himself, or guys like Jordan etc.
3. There are players within this league his own size that are stronger than him let alone other athletes from other disciplines of sport like football.
The combo is pretty impressive. But athlete's like him have come and gone before, some even more impressive than him. He's certain not bending any laws of physics.

Both are ball-dominant players. Both are also proven winners and superstars. Why does it matter?
Obviously, most people are going to say Kobe. Kobe is a notorious volume shooter and at times can ice out his teammates in order to get into his own rhythm. Both probably hold the ball for a similar amount of time, but Kobe will ultimately shoot the ball more. He has a scorer's mentality and is a lot more impulsive. LeBron is less of an impulsive player and tends to take his time more when making decisions with the ball.
Both have the ball for most of the game.
Ultimately, what is the purpose of this thread? It just feeds trolls and creates more irritating arguments/rifts between the fanbases.

No, what makes LeBron great is that he is superb at scoring, rebounding, passing, defense and controlling the rhythm of a game, while at the same time continually improving facets of his game year after year. A 6'8, 260lb body does not make you into the unstoppable force LeBron James is. Frankly, it's disingenuous when people try to demean his work ethic and dedication to the game simply because he is supremely talented.
You're mistaking this for LeBron using his athleticism to his advantage, which he is quite entitled to do in his prime. But athleticism does not make you into a 40% three point shooter after being a relatively inconsistent ~33% shooter from there all those years. That's hours and hours in the gym dedicating your time to improving from there. And all of his team mates attest to that.
LeBron's basketball IQ is always highly praised by greats of the game. Is that down to how big, strong and fast he is too?
Besides, your argument ventures down the slippery slope. In Jordan's time, he was referred to as a supreme physical specimin in his prime too; his speed, agility, jumping ability, hand size etc was all extraordinary. And he took full advantage of it in his prime years. Does that mean we should give someone like, say, Isiah Thomas more credit because he was 6'0 and was a great player too, but didn't dominate as well? Could I get some credit too, you know, I might have been GOAT if I had an NBA players body....
And that's not even taking into account what LeBron James could have been. Remember, he was praised his entire life for his talents, given the title of King. It would have been easy to ease up and let his game stagnate. Yes, he has failed, but he has bounced back from it and improved his game to win championships. He deserves credit for that.
Just because he doesn't have the same ferocious mentality of Jordan or Kobe does not mean he is great simply because he is a 6'8 260lb body.
I say we wait until his prime years are done before we judge LeBron on his skill set and athleticism. Jordan made the transition. Kobe did (although he was less athletically gifted). We will see if LeBron does too. His post game isn't refined yet, so we shall see.
