I have watched the first 2 episodes.
They were both good but not great. I will keep watching but don't expect to be blown away. The main character is cool and his wife is really hot.
So far there hasn't been that much fighting but I have been told that a lot more comes.

they're not wearing those silly horned helmets that the vikings didn't actually wear, are they?
anyway, is there some real history / insight in to the viking way of life going on? i will check it out if so.

I love it. In between watching GOT it was nice to give my brain a break and watch a not so in depth show. The main character is a badassmothorfvckor.

No helmets so far. If theyre life is really like the show then it was a badass life before christianity came in and ruined it.

maybe for ceremonial purposes, but not for everyday. you ever wear a helmet in battle recreations, foo? do you realise how ****ing stupid it is to wear a helmet in battle with horns? that's why.

that's interesting. yea, i could see the principles of christianity being in direct war against the principles of being an angry god-fueled marauder. being a viking would be more like being a member of the pre-christian judaic tribes.
There isn't a lot of action, but it's really good. The fact that it's the History Channel first drama, and that it's based on a real person makes it fascinating.

its good and i like it but nowhere near the quality of game of thrones. its also not as complicated as well, which is good. like puente said, your brain needs a break. also lack of nudity is prob negatively affecting such a show. being on the history channel will do that to ya. ragnar is def a badass

This season was definitely an improvement from season 1...Especially the overall cinematography and story developments.

I like this show a lot. It's relatively fast paced and filled with good action and twists. What I also like about it is that they studied viking history pretty deeply and based the show on that. It's also based on true events and people so don't make the same mistake as I did when I went reading history of Ragnar Lothbrook on Wikipedia and spoiled myself everything :facepalm
I think Travis Fimmel(actor who plays Ragnar) is also pretty cool dude, he doesn't give a fck, many interviewers asked him if he would move to Hollywood or somewhere else in USA and he always says that he's doing all this just because of the money, he doesn't even try to hide it :oldlol:
His biggest dream is to buy himself a big farm in the middle of nowhere in Australia and raise cattle  true farmer like Ragnar lol

Yeah I read the Wiki but I still didn't know how they would go on the last ep. I really like Ragnar. This show is great and hasn't gotten much exposure.

Can't be compared to GoT on any level...
but the main character is good looking and a good actor. Other then that, meh.

Nah I wouldn't compare it with GoT. Honestly I don't think anything can compare with GoT (yet).
But this is definitely an underrated TV show.. doesn't get the exposure it should. Good acting, great choreographed fighting scenes, badass characters, great visuals, etc. Plus, it's (loosely) based on actual history that took place; Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons were real historical figures. It's already had me researching Vikings culture :oldlol:
