It aint Melo's team achievemets that make him a loser. Its his effort, attitude, and IQ. He and cp3 are nothin alike in those categories.

They pretty much only allow 1-3 persons into the Hall of Fame each year. True Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman (Thus my name) are all in the Hall. But typically there's only about 8 players from an era who make it in...food for thought..

He's never missed the playoffs, and never played on a team that finished below .500 despite joining a franchise that hadn't made the playoffs in close to a decade. What a loser.
I don't think you guys realize how bad the Nuggets were before Melo. They were the Bobcats or Kings.

Through trades and free agency, etc. They never got a second lottery pick after Melo. One of the big criticisms of Cleveland was using their only other lottery pick during the Lebron era on Luke Jackson. Denver never even got that second lottery pick to play alongside. He just got retreads and past prime players. Iverson was 31 when he joined him. Billups was 32. Everyone else you mentioned was a role player.

You do realize that Carmelo will end up in the top 10, prob 5-7 on the all time scoring list right?
People have no perspective at all. What a stupid question.

Yea Andre Miller carried the Nuggets to the playoffs. Why couldn't he do it the year before with the Clippers when he had Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, and Lamar Odom?

Miller didnt carry the team and either did Melo. It was a team effort.
Did Melo provide dat interior toughness and length on D? No that was Kmart and Camby. Did he set the table for others on offense? No that was Miller and even Steve Blake for a minute. Was Carmelo anything but the designated chucker? No.
He didnt carry jack. He was a role player whose role happened to be shooting. If he had dirk or durant efficiency doin it, thatd be impressive. All he did was one thing, chuck a lot of shots at 45% while the rest of the team did other stuff.
That is not carryig anything. Thats playin your role.
You clearly know nothin bout ball thinkin each teams highest ppg player is the one who carries them.
I guess Clippers were jamal crawfords team this year, not cp3

Lead his team to a ring as a freshman at Syracuse, scoring title, has never missed the playoffs, 3 time olympian (2 gold medals) and his career isn't even done.

These are not the last 8 inductees in any way. This years class included GP and Bernard King, and last year Ralph Sampson, Reggie Miller, Jamaal Wilkes, Mel Daniels, and Chet Walker made the HOF. Before that Dennis Rodman, Chris Mullin, Artis Gilmore, and Arvydas Sabonis were inducted in 2011.

I hope Carmelo (barring a dramatic turn for the good in his career), T Mac, Vince Carter, Mitch Richmond all never make the HOF. It should be reserved for great players that were winners imo. I think all those guys are really good cut off guys.

If Carmelo were to retire today he definitely wouldn't be a first ballot and probably not even a second ballot HOFer. It's going to take him quite a few years to get in. His game has never truly evolved since he came into the league. He's still the same low IQ, one dimensional chucker now that he was when he was a rookie.

The likes of Reggie Miller and Chris Mullin made the hall of fame recently. Neither were that good nor were "winners", at least not in the NBA. If winners means Olympics... Anthony and Carter have gold medals just like Mullin. I can see why Miller made it (the 3 point record before Allen got it, but as players it's completely different. Careers are more or less similar too.

I don't think Mullin should be in the HOF. Reggie had a nice long career and was the face of his franchise, went to the playoffs nearly every single year, and played in 144 playoff games with some huge moments.

The basketball Hall of Fame isn't the NBA hall of fame. It's the all-around basketball hall of fame, and he's been great on every level. NCAA player of the year and national champion will get him in.

Do you think Christian Laettner should be in the HOF?
2x NCAA Champion. Only member of the Dream Team not in the HOF. Tons of other awards. In the college HOF. As much as I recognize that it is the basketball HOF, I really wish it was just NBA. How can you weight it?

Do you guys not realize how easy it is to make the NBA HOF? Grant Hill shouldn't even be considered, but his college achievements will probably get him in. A loser like Tmac will probably get in and he never did anything in the league. Vince Carter will get in and his biggest achievement was winning a dunk contest.

I pointed this out in another thread, now that Bernard King has been named to the Hall of Fame, every eligible player who has won the scoring title has been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the likes of Shaq, Kobe, Lebron, Durant, McGrady, and Iverson will all be in too. Just based on that would likely make him a lock. Then you take into account the fact that he's still only 29 and has at least a few more productive years left, on top of winning an NCAA championship as a freshman and being one of three US players who have medaled three times in the Olympics (David Robinson and Lebron being the other two...and they could both go for a fourth in '16). So yeah, there's no doubt that Melo is going to make the Hall of Fame, anyone who thinks otherwise really needs some perspective on what exactly it takes to make the basketball Hall of Fame.

I don't think he ever will. He's just not close to being the best in the NBA during his era. He's not in the top 5 anything other than scoring. There's nothing else he's good at. He just got his first scoring title this season and that's the only thing he does? It's not good.

There are plenty of other HOFers that weren't really close to being the best in their era.
I think some of you aren't realizing it's the Baskeball Hall of Fame. Not the NBA Hall of Fame. Carmelo has two gold medals and an NCAA championship; and he's been a better NBA player than some other players who got in strictly based on their NBA careers. I mean if we're talking only about NBA careers, Carmelo would be right there at the bottom with the weakest HOFers in terms of accomplishments, but there are players at or below his level.

You could turn this around and say the exact same thing about Reggie Miller and Chris Mullin too, yet they have made it very recently. They've been other one-dimensional players that have made the HOF too. Even a player who have averaged 8ppg made the HOF as a player (got by on team success).
And it's not just about what they did in the NBA. What Anthony has done in College and Olympics will be the extra boost he needs to get in. He's been both great individual and team success wise. Another gold medal and strong performance more than seals the deal for his HOF bid.

You lost all substance when you mentioned Reggie Miller. He's a warrior and tough, 2 things Melo will never be...
You also have to consider the eras...the Hall will be sure to induct players so that all eras are represented. Melo's era already has some future inductees...
Go watch Melo on punk'd and tell me that should be someone that should be a Hall of Famer.
