LeBron led Miami in points, rebounds, assists, steals, & blocks this series vs the Pacers.

- Shut down Indiana's leading scorer Paul George in Game 7.

How impressive was this series for LeBron when you consider Indiana was the league's best defensive team & Wade and Bosh were absent most of the series?

Very niiiiice.

The numbers aren't as good as it really was though...as Indiana was supposed to be the perfect team to slow Lebron down with Hibbert inside and Paul George guarding him.

I kinda forgot how he did overall against Boston in last year's ECF though so i can't say if it was better than that.

Great defense would mean something if you had good (even average) offense to go along with it lol. Indiana's offense was garbage. And I'm not sure why people are putting an inconsistent rising star like Paul George on a pedestal. He had games like tonight throughout Indiana's entire playoff run.

45% 3pt is outstanding. the rest of the numbers are just meh for LeBron. but they would be all world for any one else. thats the bar that LBJ cant reach all the time and thus why we always judge him at for not reaching all the time.

The numbers might kind of look "meh" for him but you have to consider it's against the optimum defense to defend against Lebron. Paul George is a top perimeter defender and has the length, foot speed, agility etc to guard him as good as anyone, then there is 7' 2" Hibbert waiting in the paint, along with other physical players like West and Hansbrough

One of the all-time greatest series. Indiana is the 11th highest ranked defense EVER in terms of eFG%. Hes the closest thing to a bigman on Miami and he still gets 29 PPG and 5 APG while retaining 50+% and 40+%. You may never see a player this good again.

Honestly Lebron has now reached the stage where he will be judged solely by the outcome of the series that takes place only in June. He's put up great numbers his entire career. It's now all about the trophy(-ies).

Cant stand the Heat, but I can still recognize greatness. Just did a little research: In this series, Lebron led MIA in total points; total rebounds; total assists; total steals AND blocks.

This guy is re-writing history books.

In terms of Defensive Rating, the Pacers are the best defensive team the league has seen since the '08 Celtics.

I didn't include the lockout season last year because teams are usually rusty offensively during a short year.

Yeah, I'm hoping he sustains this 3 point shooting in the Finals, it would be really nice to see him have a Finals where his jumper is going. The other interesting thing, is that usually when Lebron has a series with good 3 point shooting, it's carried on the back of one super hot game where he went 6-9 or something. Not the case in this series, he didn't have a really hot game, just a bunch of good games from deep. Much less streaky with his jumper than he used to be.

You kind of just set yourself up....

He put up Duran't regular season numbers (actually better but whatever) - in 7 straight grueling games against the same team - which also happens to be the best defensive team in the league. He did what Durant does against an average team on his average night against the best defense for 7 straight games.

It's not your fault I guess - there wasn't much to criticize this series.

His defense was absolutely tragic all series long. When he guarded George in particular he looked like shit.
Tonight he was fantastic and showed why he is in fact the best on ball defender in the league.

exactly. LeBron plays lazy on defense a lot. But when he actually decides to defend, to bend his knees and move his feet and keep his man in front him, he's one of the best defensive players of all time, hands down. But I don't blame him, playing lock down defense for an entire game is ****in exhausting

Ho, hum series from LeBron.

Game 1 is a perfect example of why you can't judge a game by it's box score without having watched it. Dude had 30/10/10, yet the dude was basically invisible the entire game until he made mistake after mistake in the 4th quarter. Then he gets a game winning layoff as a result of terrible coaching and even worse defense.

Best game was in Game 2 during a loss where again he was terrible late in the game and essentially cost his team the game with 2 turnovers in the final 45 seconds.

Game 3 he put up very pedestrian numbers in a blowout. Wade played just as well.

Game 4 another pedestrian performance in a loss, and another crucial turnover in the final minute which sealed the game for the Pacers.

Game 5 he was very good. Terrible in the 4th quarter but his team kept the game out of reach after he got them a double digit lead through the first 3.

Game 6 another ho, hum game in a loss. Showed signs midway through the 4th of leading a comeback, then had a meltdown after receiving a charge, picked up a T and disappeared for the rest of the game while the Pacers blew it open.

Game 7 game was never close after the first quarter. Numbers look good, though the dude was getting call after call in a 20+ point beat down. Meh.

But ya'll can keep staring at the numbers, ignore reality, and live in your own fantasy worlds. :oldlol:

Settle down. Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan etc etc etc - the list goes on of legends that have all had playoffs, and even NBA Finals averages that make that statline look nothing short of mediocre by comparison. That is an extremely forgettable statline relative to other playoff series that greats have had throughout NBA history. It was a great performance. But there have been far greater.

There is life outside of basketball. Stop hating because he left your city's team. it is not your city's team anyways.it is owned by some guy.relax and think.

On a different topic, my grand dad's friend told me that he saw Wilt fight a blue whale in ocean and win. Can you confirm that ? I am sure you live with someone who played with wilt or was a good friend of his.

Regular season performance doesn't have to correlate with playoff success, as was the case here. And they were one win away from 50. Yeah, that made all the difference...
