This is probably Tim Duncan's last hurrah and his final chance to cement his legacy as top 5 GOAT. Timmy will school Bosh and Birdman it will be ugly.

Tony Parker will run rings around whatever shitty PG Heat will assign to him. It will be raining threes for the Spurs all night long.

Spurs are perfect 4 out of 4 in Finals and will soon be 5 out of 5. Spurs won titles in odd years (1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007) and soon, 2013.

Spurs in 6 max. Book it.

it really comes down to this...Spurs have a great coach, a great system, a great organization, deep team where everyone contributes, the best current pg in the league, all time top 10 pf playing like such, one of the best 6th man in history but we have..well, we have lebron. heat in 4.

Nah, realistically if the officiating was fair and the refs let both teams play it out, it would be Heat in 4. But Stern ain't having that, so I got Heat in 5.

The Pacers have a front court of ****ing gigantic monsters who clog the paint. Role players for Miami were playing like absolute scrubs (which will change this series, Pacers defense > Spurs). Lebron and his team are so overrated it's amazing. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person on this board who watched basketball before 2008. I've yet to see this Heat team defeat a decent team in convincing fashion in a playoff series. 4 game sweep? When have they ever done that? Nobody sweeps the Finals. These Spurs are better - and present harder matchup conundrums - than any team they've ever played in the playoffs, including the Mavs team that beat them. You think David West gave Bosh problems? Wait till you see Duncan block him one-on-one and then Splitter barrel him over in the post on the next possession.

The reason the Heat beat the Pacers was not Lebron; it was ball pressure. The Pacers were not offensively savvy enough to get the ball in scoring position, in rhythm, in that game 7. The Spurs have all the matchup advantages of the Pacers, and also great coaching and pointguard play.

Are you saying the spurs will win? If the spurs don't win...what essay will you present us with then? Will you say I was wrong and my reasoning was obviously flawed? I am saying the HEAT WILL WIN. I am telling you that I am right about the Heat winning and that you are wrong about the spurs being them. I am severely confident about my analysis and will admit my stupidity if they lose. Playing the Spurs in a final is a different kettle of fish. Heat fans think that their team will just steamroll and play freely with no pressure.

What will happen, is there will be tight games, and someone on the Heat will need to step up in the clutch, because you know the spurs have clutch players and they will force Lebron to elevate to another level IF HE IS CAPABLE.

On past history, Id say its 50/50, we could see Lebron elevating himself into top 5 all time discussion, or Lebron letting everyone down and staying just inside the top 10 all time and falling short. But one thing is for sure, he will need to prove that the 2011 performance was a learning curve, because if he falls short and disappoints, you can leave him out of top 5 all time forever.

Just because Bosh has been off doesn't mean it can't shoot. Bosh became a all star from his "long jumpers." So if Bosh shoots like he did for 98% of career..DUncan has to pay close attention to him...he won't be able to be in the paint blocking anything.

2011 isnt irrelevant. That was also a finals.

Game winning layup with a questionable travel and no one at the ring to block him? Oh that one

Winning against an inexperienced and outmatched OKC outfit last year, is hardly redemption for the choke job in 2011. Spurs are a team that represents that same kind of challenge, Lebron has to erase that.

Well I don't live in the past. 2011 Heat was a completely different team. They didn't have any chemistry. They were still in learning mode.

2011 is not irrelevant. In that very same game I saw Lebron get scared shitless and pass the ball to his lesser teammates to create for themselves while he ran and hid in the corner in the 4th qtr and OT until someone finally slapped him and reminded him he's supposed to be the MVP. He got severely bailed out from Chris Andersen and Bosh getting huge offensive boards and three point plays on putbacks on missed shots. That choker gene for Lebron is still there. Now tell me what you remember about the 2011-2012 season's playoffs. Tell me about his Finals Mvp performance. Tell me what have you noticed about his play this season.

Then tell me why you are still focused on the 1st year heat team of 2011.

Maybe I'm dumb...but I don't see how that 2011 team and performance has anything to do with today's heat team...2 seasons later...1 ring later...headed for 2....please explain.

What else is there to explain? You pointed to a game winning layup (caused by horrible coaching and PG playing stupid). I pointed out in that same game Lebron was passive and scared for a long stretch (similar to 2011) and got bailed out. He couldn't wait to get rid of the ball and go hide somewhere. Even with a championship and a lot of playoff experience that choker gene is still there and can rear it's ugly head at any moment.

I will eat crow if the Heat beat the Spurs. Heat fans on the other hand (if they lose), will offer their usual excuses.

Not me. I may analyze what the Heat did wrong and what the Spurs did right. No excuse will come from me. But of course we won't be in that position because the Heat have LeBron James.

Roy Hibbert and 7'2 and David West is 6'9, why are you acting like they are so monumentally bigger than Duncan and Splitter who both stand at 6'11? Not to mention Leonard the rebound machine. We don't exactly have a small front court nowadays.

Because Duncan and Splitter don't weigh 280 and 260 lbs and get any position they want in the paint when the ball is in the air.

That's a combined 60 less lbs of beef to deal with (Splitter and Duncan weigh 240).

Duncan spent the last two off-seasons shedding weight, going from 260 to 235 pounds and relieving his troublesome left knee from supporting so much mass.

Guess someone is dumb enough to believe that Lebron James still weighs his listed 250.

Tim Duncan has never had any sort of definition his entire career until this year. He's slimmer than he's ever been. He's not anywhere close to 260.

Spurs will experience a defence they've never experienced in the West. And there is no Hibbert and West protecting the paint so Lebron will drive all day. Also Miami are extremely good at erasing guards from the game and will show aging Spurs what is up. Just look OKC did last year.

Spurs can't win if Duncan has to consistently be the best player for them putting up 25/14 type of numbers. I wouldn't double him. He's not strong enough to muscle down Bosh or Anderson as easily as Hibbert or West did. I'd let Tony Parker have open 20ft jumpers all day by going under the screen if that means he's never getting into the paint and and setting up his teammates for good looks.

Spurs have no glaring advantages against the Heat like the Pacers did. The Heat will have more flexibility on defense.

Manu would make a good NBA coach after he retires (http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/1588726-no-somos-favoritos-pero-no-es-imposible-ganarles)

First time we're not favorites. They have HCA

LeBron is the best player in the world. He's unstoppable.

We need to help in PnR plays but MIA have very good shooters

IND gave MIA trouble. We need to learn from them and avoid their mistakes

Winning will be difficult. We have to play a perfect game

Tony cannot use the PnR to score near the rim

Great defense, move the ball well, find open man and cut down on TO

3 TO in 4 minutes,and they take a 10 point lead

It's not impossible to beat them

don't know if they'll be the most difficult opponent in the Finals

against DET in 2005 we were down 8 points in the 3rd quarter of game 7

MIA is the best team in the NBA,but the Spurs are healthy and well-rested.I think SAS can outsmart them.

Spurs in 7 ??

This. Pacers only have 3 "good" (Hibbert, West, George) and one "average" (Hill) player, the rest are below average players, still took mia 7 games. Spurs beat pretty much the same team in 4.
