View Full Version : Predict Dwyane Wade's production in the Finals

WayOfWade

I predict he averages: 18 ppg, 4 rbs, 4 asts, 2 stls, .5 blks, 48% FG's.

I feel like I might even be being a little gracious because Wade is my favorite player, but I feel despite his injuries, Wade will play relatively well. I think the finals is going to hinge on whether or not Dwyane Wade shows up or not. LeBron needs help, and Wade is the guy that needs to be the second option.

Your guys' thoughts/predictions?

I hope you're right because if not the Spurs are going to win.

I am thinking 15p 6b 3a on 45% with a couple of highlight reel dunks despite the bad knee.

He has 3 bone bruises. He hasn't drained shit be it a good shot or his knee.

Wade's production will be correlated with how Spurs defense reacts to LeBron's post ups and drives. Wade usually is the beneficiary of easy cuts when big men help out on LeBron. And of course if Miami can get some steals and points in transition, Wade will see his ppg go up. I think his rebounds per game go up in this series as well. Assists and steals probably stay consistent with playoff averages.

Straight_Ballin
06-05-2013, 10:26 PM
I hope not. That might be enough to steal Finals MVP if Spurs play the "anyone but lebron" defense and limit his direct assist output. (They have the personnel & Coaching to do just that)

And why would you care if he got it instead of bron if he was more deserving? Heat fan who is simply a bron stan in disguise?

I'm a die hard Heat fan that has a memory bank going further than a mere few weeks.

Wade has been dreadful (and thats being generous here) all year long (plus last year) with his putrid offense, up and down defense, and overall lackadaisical play. LeBron pretty much carried him all season long. Wade finally stepping up at the most opportune time solely to steal Finals MVP would be an absolute disgrace/travesty/mockery etc etc.

Unless the NBA replaces "Finals MVP" with "Playoff MVP" - which would almost always go to the best player on a championship team - there's always a chance for bs like Cedric Maxwell winning Finals MVP over Larry Bird in 81.. and some (not I) would argue Parker over Duncan in 07.

Sure I'm happy if the Heat win regardless.. but it just wouldn't feel right as a fan of the game.

That's a sorry viewpoint right there. Lebron stan/Heat bandwagon jumper...

They worry about Lebron winning FMVP more than actually worry about the Heat winning the title.

Titles are so hard to come by you better just hope they can beat the spurs.

Wade averaging 20+ ppg in this series is honestly an unreal prediction, even as a Heat fan. But if consistently contributes and scores about 17 ppg, the Heat will probably get the trophy.

My thoughts pretty much. G7 was Wade's first 20+ point game in what? 13 games? It kills me to say this but I would be stunned if Wade ever gets over the 25 point plateau in any game this finals. His knee is killing him right now, and will until next season.

This is garbage. Every bit of it. First of all, how is 21/5/5/2/1 52% "dreadful"? That's a career year for most players. Second of all, if you're a real Heat fan you should be THRILLED if Wade wins FMVP because that would mean the Heat won the championship. I don't care if Joel Anthony wins FMVP. All that matters is winning.

All year long? He's had some decent stretches

February 2012 25/5/4/1/1 55% (31 minutes)
March 2012 24/6/5/2/1 51%
good series against New York and Indiana in 2012
December 2012 22/4/4 55% (32 minutes)
January 2013 21/5/4/2/1 51%
February 2013 24/6/6/3/1
March 2013 21/6/5/3/1 54%

For about half the season in 2011-2012 he was was playing at prime level and in 2012-2013 he was only bad at the start of the season he played a consistent 4 months from December to March.

I take it you're predicting the Spurs to win because the Heat won't win with that kind of production from Wade.

I'll say 20/5/5 48% with some uneven play, but good to very good for the most part. I'm more concerned with Bosh honestly.

Sadly, I think this represents the majority of the 'heat' fans true feelings.

I'm sure they'd want Wade and Bosh to have a scrub series if it meant LeBron could carry the load and increase his greatness. But the Heat would lose, so Wade and Bosh need to have good, but not great series.

LeBron stans, Kobe stans, MJ stans, etc. , are all the same to me. They do get annoying quickly. However, I must admit the LeBron stans have been out by lately. But what do expect with Miami in the finals. If it was Kobe in the finals, the Kobe stans would be doing the same thing. I don't care if Chalmers wins FMVP, as long as Miami is hoisting up that championship trophy.

Wade actually playing like ... well, Wade.

Made Lance Stephenson look like a fool. Tried this move on the playground the other day, Wade is just so fluid with it.

It's suspect how that was the first game he was in motivated beast mode all playoffs.

As I said if he plays like that then the Heat win in 6 games, maybe 5. Since he no longer gets FT calls since 2011, I'm guessing averages of 18 / 6 / 6

But then again, usually, Wade is a proven better performer when the lights are brightest in the Finals.

Not talking about production, I'm talking about how healthy and briskly he was moving. It was shades of healthy prime Dwyane Wade. That's the potential we saw.

His PPG numbers will be down. He doesn't get ANY calls anymore to help boost his numbers. So the vast majority of his actual points are off buckets.
