The other one was like a bounce pass cross court, he put some spin and it found it's way to the guy. I forget who.

The entire crowd missed it (I was at the game). I was looking around me like "did anyone else just see that shit?". Amazing pass, absolutely incredible. I didn't even click the video and I already know exactly what you're talking about. Shit brings "threading the needle" to an entirely different level.

Very similar to this....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS01sKgdiD0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGCelYVAQdQ

They usually make that pass on a semi-fast break that catches the defense off guard now but they used to have a play where Parker would come up the baseline and fake like he was running up to the top of the key as if he's going to receive the pass and then he back cuts into the paint where Ginobili has already thrown the pass and hits Parker right in stride for an easy layup. I don't know why the Spurs stopped running that awesome play. It worked a lot. I couldn't find a youtube clip of it though.

That's a low % (lucky) pass that led to nothing.

I noticed that pass also I was amazed by it! Manu's awesome to watch.

bdreason

And the correct play would have been to hit Leonard on the low post, who would have then been able to hit Parker on the cut for a wide open layup.

Yeah I agree, as amazing as that was it wasn't nearly worth the risk. Save that for the pre/regular season in garbage time.

Ginobili going for that highest degree of difficulty between the legs pass. It's a trademark of his. Sick, underrated passer...

There's no freaking way Manu intended to bounce that ball between Cole's leg. Manu does that between your legs bounce pass all the time but no way in hell you're going that fancy in a Final's game.

It's more of a lucky pass than an incredible pass.

Ginobili is obviously getting bored with the regular between the legs bounce passes. I think he's trying to challenge himself to see if he can thread the needle between moving legs now. And yeah, I'm kidding lol.

LeBron making this pass would have made people go crazy because of the package it comes in. His athleticism and other abilities combined would make it more special than Ginobili doing it. Not that hard to understand.

you can see the way manu moves his body back during the pass in order to get the extra friction to generate that spin..

It was a lucky pass, he clearly couldn't have anticipated what happened there (and if he did, it was a wild gamble that could've just as easily turned into a turnover).
That said, it was beautiful to watch.

Manu is the best passer in today's game. Out of the current players nobody has those kind of passes.

Untrue. Not to take anything away from Manu; he is a great passer and is probably the best passing 2-guard currently, but there are plenty of other players who can and do make passes like these.

Probably not as consistently as Ginobili does it. These passes are kind of routine for him.

:applause:

Very false. Perhaps he makes those trick shot passes the most and has a great ability to thread the needle, but that doesn't equate to the best passer. The best passer has great vision and can find the open guy when no one else can. Which leads to more open shots for teammates which is the goal here. And there are at least 6-7 players in the league who do that better than Manu, and perhaps around 10 or so would be more like it.

This poster is a fukking genius. He didn't buy into the hype of one lucky pass that Ginobli wasn't even trying to do in the first place.

You don't you really think he didthat on purpose, do you? Throwing a pass between the legs of a running player is pure luck. even if it's a great passer like Manu...

With the way Manu handled the ball this series, I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to do a chest pass.

Manu is one of the best passers in the league, and has been during his tenure in the NBA. In fact, he is one of the best SG passers of all time. Top 5 at worst.
