View Full Version : Derrick Rose: Not sure if he will play this summer

While players train or play pick up games to stay sharp in the off season. Rose and the Bulls' organization is not sure what Derrick has planned for the Summer. He's working out in Los Angeles, like he does every year, but he's not sure if he's going to scrimmage with Team USA this summer or not.

here we go again.

another wave of hate for derrick rose, saying he's mentally weak, he's a *****, and a bunch of fat nerds making up stories about how they tore their ACL and came back 2 weeks after surgery.

While this may cause a public outrage to some I look at it in the sense that D Rose is a former MVP, number 1 draft pick, top 5 HS player in his class. I'm sure he knows exactly what to do and how to get better in his summers. Summers are what leaped him from Rookie of the Year to an All Star. An All Star to an MVP. He knows what he's doing. If he doesn't want to work with Team USA let the man be, media is reaching at this point.

He should wait till the playoffs to come back. better safe than sorry.

I actually have torn my a acl and I can state for a fact it is ludicrous that Rose is taking this long, he must have the worst rehab team in the world. He has enough time to return from two acl recos

Interesting.

Do you think it's possible that he's probably still on crutches when off the camera?

Rose was gonna play this summer until he ate a taco that was a little too spicy. It's too risky.

difference is that rose is a professional athlete. his whole life revolves around basketball so he has to be extra careful. but i do agree that he has taken a LONG time

It's been a year. He should be improving health-wise.
If he really isn't then he should sit.
Otherwise, scrimmaging will get him back into form.

Yeah, the true fans that know the media is full of shit. Also anyone acting like they know full details about the situation is full of shit.

He's going to be fine. I'm sure he'll be working out in California with KLove like usual. Would be cool to see him go workout with the USA team, I don't see how that could hurt him. He should do whatever he needs to do to get ready to play ball next season.

Every injury is different. A torn ACL or Achilles can encompass a pretty wide range of severity. Everyone heals differently. There are no blueprints.

You're fortunate to have had a good experience and I'm glad that you recovered. Of course a lot of factors, including your height, weight and profession all play into whether your recovery would be near sufficient for someone playing basketball at the highest level 100 times a year.

I hope Rose comes back. Far from a favorite of mine, but hate to see any career cut short. Not a fan of the way it's been handled by his people or the media, whichever was responsible for the rampant speculation and the distractions that came with it.

His first responsibility is to himself and his career, and his second responsibility is to the team that's paying his checks. Team USA doesn't enter into the equation. Get healthy young man.

Too many guys cut their careers short trying to be "manly" and play through injury... wouldn't you have liked to see 5 more years of prime Bird and McHale? Prime Hill?

It would be hilarious if it's not Rose back first. Kobe/Westbrook got injured a few months ago, Rose a few years ago.

Just because he doesnt scrimmage with Team USA, doesnt mean much. It would be nice to see him play with other NBA talent to gauge his comeback trail.

People hating on this is just stupid.
