Sits most of the 4th while Wade seals the deal, and then comes in once the Spurs bring their starters out, and then scores 7 points while stat padding... Ends with 1 more point than Wade and the better stat sheet...

He helped get the 5 point lead they had before he came off.

That guy couldn't hit a damn jump shot for the whole series. And the game was still within a reach (even though Pop pulled starters out).

It's totally understandable that he tried to get some rhythm in his jumper.

I don't call it stat padding. I call it foot on throat, and I'm not a Heat fan.

After what the Bulls did to the Nets in that game 4 this year, or what Dallas did to them in game 2 of 2011 Finals, they didn't want to take the pedal off the gas.

He made nice jumpers at the end, and even a 3 pointer. It's actually a good move because he has confidence in his jumper again, and he can carry it to game 5.

Putting role players in and letting them get PT?

Not even the same. How is LeBron gonna sit out on crunch time and then you throw him out there once the game is already over?

The last three he took with 25 seconds left or whatever is the only one that was bad. And that wasn't even that bad...he was the one who had the ball and he let the shot clock go down to from 24 seconds to 3 seconds or whatever...it was either going to be a shot clock violation or he was going to shoot it. So he shot it and made it.

i wouldnt say confidence...he was taking the open js before he had a chance to second guess the sot...it's more fluid when you do that.

It was actually 9 points, which without it the score would be 100-93 instead, hence could have been potentially a tied game if Spurs didnt play so bad..... should he have taken that risk and not "stat padded" to make you happy just so you can say Wade played better? Lebron was resting for 6 minutes in the 4th, Wade took over where Lebron left of, they already had a 7 point lead... and what makes you think Lebron couldnt score those 9 points earlier instead and Wade "bush leagued" instead?

Now stop being butthurt and try find better hater material...

I smiled so much when James hit that 3, knowing how butthurt so many around the country would be. I mean Wade was clearly the player of the game, but all these people were going to obsessed about that 3. Lebron should just had let the 24 second clock run out and taken the turnover.

I wonder what will happen in this series.

By scoring at the end, I think Bron was paying them back for their blowout. Will that be a good or bad move in the end?

Would be crazy to see Spurs take the championship on Miami's floor. I have a weird feeling about this series. I can usually tell, going in, who is going to win... but I really feel it could go either way.

People can come out and say THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN and bump the thread after it, but I don't buy that they actually knew. I'm sure everyone has their theories.

It was 100-87 before Lebron took a shot to make it 102-87... Lebron scored 9... with 4:37 minutes to go... where Wade was still in game and basically still took as many shots as Lebron during that span but missed them all....... hence where Spurs could have got back into the game easily if they didnt shoot so bad during that time and if Lebron didnt "stat padd" those 9 points........ sad troll....

He went out to get a rhythm and his confidence back. You could tell his confidence was coming back with every made shot. He also wanted to send the Spurs a message letting know that he was back to MVP Bron.

I don't blame him whatsoever nor do I think he was trying to stat pad.

with the OP's mindset, it would of been "better" for Lebron to hold the ball and let the shot-clock expire, resulting in a turnover then allowing Pop to make sub(s) and the Spurs to possibly make a late (miracle-made) run

I don't think it's possible for me to take more joy from how chapped haters' butts are over LeBron's 9 points in the 4th qtr to overtake Wade in scoring. They are so, so ****ing mad :oldlol:. No other player has this kind of impact on people who watch their sport. If you ever doubted the extent to which LeBron owned haters' souls, reaction to tonight's 4th qtr seals it. They pretty much base their lives around bringing him down. No other player comes close to eliciting that kind of response from fans. This is a bigger testament to LeBron's greatness than almost anything.

Just a natural reflex for Lebron haters, gotta have some new material to work with after each game. This is ridiculous though, they didn't want to leave anything to chance and finish strong. What amazes me is how when "certain" players do similar things it's considered being ruthless and putting a team away. When Lebron does it, it's bush league, garbage points etc. ....

Is hatred really so blinding?

You guys really are quite idiotic. Your idol Kobe Bryant was the most hated man in basketball year after year (getting booed in All Star games TWICE), regularly showing up as the most disliked athlete in sports on marketing lists. His fans are hated all over the Internet (far moreseo than Lebon fans) and yet you're going to make a statement like this? Just shows how pathetic the Bryant Groupie mindstate is.

This. Lol before boston game 6, the whole nation was ready to see lebron choke. When have you seen anything like that?

Also, before the start of the playoffs, ESPN made a poll, and every single state outside of florida wanted the spurs to win. Yeah.

The amount of hate Lebron received is unprecedented. Th years following the decision? That can't be topped.

The issue isn't the points he scored or the shots he took, it's that it was out of character for how Lebron normally approaches the game so it made it glaringly APPARENT that he was purely out to boost his numbers in a situation where there was no pressure.

Not sure how ANYONE can deny this.

When is the last time in a playoff game you saw Lebron come down, go STRAIGHT iso, NO PASSING and take a shot on 4 consecutive possessions?

I think his motivation was to get his Finals ppg avg up not to overtake or outshine Wade, but either way it's still corny and SUCKER type behaviour.

Many us constantly wish Lebron would go into this mode when his team is struggling in a big playoff game. Yet he NEVER has this approach when the game is tight and there is pressure, but then when the game is decided he SUDDENLY turns into a Carmelo/Kobe hungry looking to go on a scoring streak type player?

Lebron is just a flaw ass dude as we'd say in Miami.

What's the big deal? He was on a hot shooting streak. I'm sure if he missed a jumper, he wouldn't have taken another shot to preserve his FG%. He was padding his stats. It's not like Wade didn't try to do the same thing. He just happened to miss a couple of jump shots, so he just sat down afterwards.
