I watched Ewing's HOF speech, and to be honest, he seems slow, boneheaded, and downright stupid.

From what I remember he built that reputation throughout his career as well, even Knicks players used to joke about it. Just doesn't seem like the type to be cut out for a coaching job.

Its not like its high school and you graduate from assistant to head coach after four years or something. It's a job...and teams want the best possible guy for this job they can find.

Kidd's mind for the game isn't something that can be disputed. Can he be a leader without a uniform on? That's the thing Brooklyn's taking a big risk on...but that entire team is a big risk, to be honest.

Not to hate the guy by any stretch, but Patrick obviously lacks something that makes him desirable as a guy to manage a team of basketball players.

Nobody owes Ewing anything

sports are so competitive, that if any team thought that Ewing was the best man for the job , he would have been contacted, interviewed and given a fair shake.

Nets have fired two coaches in less than one calendar year, so even from the outside looking in....it doesn't seem like an ideal coaching job.
