Kobe won 3 with Shaq, those don't count. Then he shot 6-24 in 2010 game 7, so that doesn't count either. And he choked in 2004 and 2008.

Kobe: -1 rings
Lebron: 2 rings

Damn, is Kobe the only player in NBA history with less than 0 rings?

Ring comparison:

Realistically, if you want to be a hater.

LeBron: 1.5 (1 legit ring, 1 lockout)
Kobe: 1 (1 legit ring carrying his team (09), 3 rings to shaq, 1 other ring getting bailed out by Fisher, Artest, Gasol)

So what? Ray Allen bailed Lebron's ass out in game 6 so what are you so proud of? Do you see how hard it was for Kobe to go against the big 3's of Boston with no franchise quality players around him at all? Lebron plays for a superteam with Wade, Bosh, and Allen were franchise players. If one player doesn't show up the other in Heat uniforms does. What about Kobe? He had to focus his ass to be 100% every game. So you expect him not to be exhausted by the end?

lololol don't even bring KG in 09 with all the injuries teams have been riddled with this past year.

Kobe - 5
Lebron - 2 and probably more to come

Don't discredit either of their rings, all deserved.

I would call Gasol's 19 pts 18 rebs in Game 7 a franchise player type of performance.

Nah. LeBron won in '12 (a lockout year), doesn't count. And he choked HARDCORE in '07 and '11. I'd say that's a -1.5 for each year.

So 1 ring in '13, -1.5 in '07, -1.5 in '11.

Kobe: -1 rings
LeBron: -2 rings

The Cavs weren't expected to win in 07, so he gets those -1.5 back.

Kobe: -1 rings
LeBron -0.5 rings

Reading through these threads is always great. :oldlol:

The arguments then the counter arguments... It can go on for ages, and still hilarious despite being done an infinite number of times prior.

EDIT: Anyone got a minus count on each? How many negative rings have each got?

He is a certainly better game 7 and elimination game performer than kobe.

Exactly 2 FMVP at age 35 vs. 2 FMVP at age 28 at the peak of his reign.

By the way the thread's about game 7 performances, why you kobe stans always bring out your only argument of 5 rings? Any decent 2nd option can ride Shaq's coattail to a ring:facepalm

Let's fix that for you:

Kobrick retired with 2 fmvps after 20 seasons of basketball
Lebron has 3 fmvps after his 13th season of basketball

The discussion is over. This is one of the last Kobe vs Lebron threads we'll ever see, enjoy it Lebron fans. This is too easy of an argument.

We've moved onto MJ ever since June 22. Now that will be a tough argument.
