You are not mad, then I cant tell whether there is even a mad man in this world at all. Also not to take the air out of Knicks balloon, but this statement above makes me laugh. Knicks fans are acting like Shumpert is a superstar player, and that a 24th pick from weak draft class will actually make any kind of guaranteed impact.

The thing is, KG and Pierce will not have the offensive pressure they had in Boston. KG can concentrate in being the defensive anchor and rebounding and PP can spot up, play some point SF and take over in crunch time. No more long minutes for them. They also add much needed veteran-ship and maturity.

talk to me when you win a round in the playoffs. Kind of sad not being able to beat a team that was without their 3 best players. I wouldnt have the stones to show myself after my team lost to the bulls who were without Rose, Deng, Heinrich and an injured Noah.
Good luck with that

I just said they were old and decrepid, they used to be great players but now they are old and ready for AARP. I'm sure they could still run the show at a pickup game in my neighborhood but for the NBA, they're going downhill quick. There was even talk about both pierce/kg retiring. And now the Nets are going to be world beaters? LOL

our key to taking down the heat is wade. we know bosh with fold with kg on him. if wade plays like 25 ppg wade, we could lose. if he plays like passive 15 ppg wade, we will win. i also think a bench of marshon, terry, plumlee and blatche need some major work. we need shooting on our bench like the heat. we have a semi-week bench right now.

The Nets are low on athleticism and that could lead to big problems vs. the Heat but I don't see how the Knicks beating the Cs in 6 gives Knicks a reason for confidence now that Pierce and KG are joining Williams (Cs didn't have Rondo), Lopez and JJ. Knicks have to hope that the weapons don't gel because they have five potential starters that can both shoot as well as create offense. If Pierce or KG were in their 20s they would be a serious threat to Miami.

right now we're realistically behind the heat. even my homer side can't say we're better than the heat right now. they are too fast for us and if one of our stars goes down, it won't be pretty.

Pierce may be close to done (he might still be able to thrive in a limited role though), however KG was again a top 5 defender last year in terms of impact, so you could easily get a couple more great years from him on that end.

Indeed. Actually most nets fans are realistic at the fact that we are still not gonna beat the Heat in a 7 games series with this current squad without further trades/FA Signings. No idea why Knicks fans get so cocky though, perhaps thats the way they normally are.

I really like the Garnett-Lopez frontcourt tandem. KG is still one of the best paint defenders in the league and still has that mid-to-long range J which will help spread the floor for Lopez.
Not sure about DW, JJ, and PP being on the floor at the same time, though. Too many ball handlers and mediocre defenders.

On Paper right now the Nets have the edge on the Knicks. The only clear advantage the Knicks have with each Starting five is Melo.
KG is clearly maybe a year away from hanging it up but Pierce in a limited role could play a few more years.
Eastern Confernce next season will be very interesting with the Nets, Knicks, Bulls and Pacers fighting take down Miami.

thats what was said when they played the old and slow spurs too. same with the old and slow mavs too. spurs should have won. heat got lucky. thats besides the point. and pierce won't be remotely close to the same role he was with the celtics. he's going to be a fourth option behind brook, deron, and joe so bringing up the knicks series is irrelevant.will the nets beat the heat? probably not. can they? yes, if they are fully healthy.

Here's the thing, KG and Pierce had to lead the Celtics all by themselves after Rondo went down. They had no other help. No one expects them to lead the Nets. It's still going to be Deron Williams' team. KG and Pierce are coming to help. They'll be playing with Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. Way more help than they've had the past two seasons. The Nets are stacked.
I'd put money on the Nets having more wins than the Knicks next year.

I asked them how they would feel if Nets stayed put and Knicks got KG, Pierce, and Terry and kept Felton, Shumpert, Carmelo, and Tyson.
They cited some mumbo jumbo about 2 championships over 40 years ago...
Fact is... Nets got rid of Wallace for Pierce... KG for Reggie Evans... Terry for Marshon Brooks... and they can keep Hump, Keith Bogans, and that other kid.

And I dont know why theyre talking about AARP when theyre team is old as Sh*t too and theyre old guys arnt even productive.

No, just no. It was absolutely Embarrassing to be a Knicks fan in the 2000s, everyone I new was a Nets fan (most of them are Knicks "fans" now), even my Dad who grew up watching Walt Frazier would just shrug his shoulders when the Knicks played. And yes they do make us contenders, we won as many games as the 3rd seed last season with Deron injured for half the year and our main problem was shooting, defense, toughness and production from the forward positions. This trade literally solves all of those problems, while adding a legitimate role player in Terry. The Heat arnt unbeatable anymore now that Wade is declining, the Pacers took them to 7 games and we swept the Pacers in the regular season with the spacing NIGHTMARE of Wallace and Evans at the 3 and 4.
The Nets worst starter is Paul Pierce, while the Knicks are starting Iman Shumpert at small forward. Just let that soak in for a minute.

There really is no balloon to to deflate. Pierce is pretty much done. His bet asset offensively was the fact that off the dribble he was able to get to the rim with his hesitation moves. He's old now and that hasn't worked in a couple of years...hence why he gets so many charges these days. I like KG but honestly he can't play more than 25-28 min per gamer. Yeah in the playoffs he might be a stud, but through an 82 game season he really isn't going to effect much as he won't play enough minutes.
Pierce is just done. He was never any kind of athlete and he's now 36. Driving he gets a charge more than he gets the foul call. The nets are frankly a mess and I think it's fun. I'm curious to see what the hell they do with this line up. At the very least it should be...interesting.

Pierce isn't done. He put up 17/6/5 last season. I watched the game when he dropped 40 points on 16 shots last year...dude can still ball.
Wallace is a good defender and energy guy, but he couldn't shoot for crap last year. Nobody even guarded him on the perimeter. Pierce will do wonders for the floor spacing (not that I want him being just a spot up shooter).
