The Rockets already have a backup PG that is better than him. Would any team want Lin? I can't see him and Howard meshing well all.

Can you imagine how many turnovers Lin will average trying to get the ball in the post to Howard?

Lin could actually be good running the Pick n Roll with Dwight like he used to do with Chandler back in NY. I guess he stays for a while and could be moved or benched if things don't work out in the long run.

Just bench him and start Beverley, no team is gonna take Lin now, he's not even good.

I can't believe I bought into the whole Linsanity hype. :facepalm He is clearly a backup player and Bev should start.

Lin would be great with Howard in the pick and roll.
Otherwise, if the Rockets want to move him, send him to Charlotte. They need someone who can run the team and he can sell tickets.
Lin's jump shot is improving - he needs more muscle.
It's too early to give up on Lin - point guards take time to develop and last year was his first year as a starter.

wtf. He doesnt need more muscle AND if he does it certainly isnt gonna improve his shot.

3 team trade with Pelicans

Pels send Vasquez to Rockets
???? sends someone to cheap or a pick to Pels
Rockets send Lin to ????

Vasquez is cheaper and is just as good as Lin. Both are overrated though.

How would Howard affect Lin's life? Lin is a PG, Howard is a C. It's Asik's fate that is on hold here.

Uh, no it's not.

For the Rockets it is, 8, 8, 8.

For the Knicks, it would have been 5, 5, 15.

It was a 24-25 million dollar contract.

Jeremy Lin to Charlotte for Ramon Sessions.
Sessions backs up Beverly in Houston.
Lin starts and becomes the face of the franchise.
With Lin, Walker, Henderson, (if he returns), MKG, the Hornets can get out and run and be a fun team to watch.

lin is too asian to be playing in the nba. he has squinty eyes so he cannot see everything on the floor at once. dunno why anyone would give him money to play basketball.

In all fairness, Lin was doing amazing stuff on the Knicks.

But Houston shouldn't trade him, just bench him. Keep him on the team for all dat Asian market money.

Nah he'll be effective in the pick and roll with Howard. It's a good fit for both of them. Other teams don't really have someone that could run the pick and roll with Lin like that and so it'd be hard to get rid of him except for ticket sales maybe.

Lin is an average PG and Beverley is not better than him. Houston will keep Lin.

About as many as Dwight will have once he eventually gets the ball in the post.

Beverley isn't even a point guard. He has virtually zero play making abilities, and zero knowledge of how to run an offense.

As a Rocket's fan, I hope we keep Jeremy Lin..unless we can package him an Asik for an upgrade PG.

I just don't want to see Patrick Beverly start. Beverly is solid and I like him a lot, but I don't think he can be consistent to start and he won't be able to bring the intensity he brought in the playoffs for for 82 games. He is a great spark off the bench.

I think Lin would be fine as a 4th option with Harden, Dwight, and Parsons. He's a great passer just really inconsistent with his shooting. It would be awesome if we kept the same core as last year + Dwight.

Snoop_Cat
06-30-2013, 10:46 PM
Seriously? Patrick Beverly, who's a scorer with limited play-making ability is supposed to complement Howard who has zero offensive game.

If any of you happen to remember, Lin was terrific in NY when he was able to run the pick and roll in a fast moving offense with guys that can finish. With Dwight, he's got a guy that he can finally run with and a guy who can roll and finish. Asik can't do that.

Obviously Lin has a good amount of limitations but on paper, Lin+Howard is clearly better than Beverly+Howard.

Shows how clueless some of you wannabe NBA fans are thinking that Beverley is even close to a starting caliber NBA pg. Holy freakin christ go follow another sport like badminton or synchronized swimming that doesn't require so much thought.

lin had a decent year but he was complete ass in the playoffs

bmd

I feel like many of you have not seen Lin play this season.

He wasn't bad like you guys make him out to be. He was terrible in the playoffs, though.

Secondly, his strength is running the pick and roll with a big man who can run the pick and roll. On the Rockets, he isn't being used to his strength. He has to defer to Harden, and was made to play off the ball.

Playing off the ball isn't his strength... but he got better at it throughout the year.

But he's still a pick and roll PG.

And his main weakness is turning the ball over. But remember, this was his first year as a starter. He'll clean that up.

First of all lin isn't half as bad as you're making him out too be. He is a solid player who just got hot and people tend to overrate him. That's not his fault. objective people can see he is a solid rotation player.

By the rumors that the hawks have offerd smith for Asik in a sign and trade which dosent include lin according some guy named Jason mclaed he will probally be retained.

Lin is a decent starter. Pair him up with Howard and they'll give Magic & Kareem duo a run for their money.

Lin needs to work mainly on his dribbling skills, if he has elite handles he can than be looked among the elite PGs, and people are so quick to dismiss him, disregarding the fact that he was injured in the playoffs and was on a short leash with McHale who is notorious for mishandling his PGs, must be the race card.
