Sweet a guy as he is, @MettaWorldPeace will be waived via amnesty by Lakers to save about $30 million, barring some late change.

Nothin they can do with his money this year anyway.

Jim Buss is not a good business man. If he had more brains than heart hed amnesty Kobe. They wouldnt lose a dime in revenue. Theyre the Lakers, theyre bigger than Chuckbe. Chuckbe has always put himself before the team. Jim Buss puts Chuckbe before the team because hes afraid fans wont like him.

Makin costly, counterproductive, pu ssy decisions in order to feel popular and accepted and look cool... This guy must vote Democrat

It's going to save $30 million dollars. Puts Lakers close to the luxury tax apron as well.

Wiggins thing is beyond a pipe dream. Unless Lakers literally strip it all down, there are probably 10 teams who will surely have a worse record, with most trying as well.

lakers just got a free amnesty basically with howard leaving. that just shaved a ton off the books. they need metta this year. cut him next year if they want. but for now we need him

Won't be so sure about that because

>Kobe will miss half the season, maybe more
>Nash in all likelihood will get injured at some point
>D Antoni will still be the coach.
>Teams in the West actually want to win....as in all except maybe the Jazz and the Suns.
>The teams in the East trying to out tank each other will inevitably win games against each other.

All in all Wiggins is highly unlikely but a decent pick is possible. :coleman:

If they keep Gasol and Nash, they're winning 35 games IMO. Kobe is not going to miss that much time as he's targeted himself.

Sooo many shitty teams are gunning for top spots next season.

Dang, I was hoping along with Sasha and Odom, we'd work on getting Fisher back and reunite the whole gang.

In all seriousness, would be sad to see Metta go. It's already been said but while he never always played the best and had his issues, he takes pride in being a Laker. There were times even when everyone else was checking out of games that he would come through and bring that spirit and energy. For all the negatives you can say about him, lacking energy and spirit is something no one can dock him for. Especially coming back from his injury so quickly just to play and contribute.

I personally hope he stays. Saving 7-8 million is understandable but this has no bearing on the salary cap as far as I know, so it won't do anything different in terms of opening up space for younger legs. May as well keep Metta and a younger piece to back him up instead.

well the teams thatll be best in need of a rebounding, defensive sf

Back to Houston
NY,Mia,BRK,IND,SA or another LA team LAC

And for all those under the cap

DET,Sac,Mil,Atl

a det team of drummond, monroe, smith, mwp with rasheed as asiisstant coach is going to have a very strong defensive frontcourt
he could go back to Houston and Join DWIGHT

maybe make a resurgence in IND,most likely playing the PF spot

or could join his longtime teammate Battier in Mia
