Kyrie is definitely the flashiest. Sometimes I feel like he gets a little too fancy when it's not entirely necessary, though, which drives me nuts. Still, he has some of the best handles I've ever seen.

I'd probably go with Chris Paul.

I remember seeing an interview with Jamal Crawford too where he says that he has never done a dribbling drill in his life which is crazy. He said ball control and his handle is natural because he always had a ball in his hands growing up.

My answer in what I will call "Cool story, bro" format:

Last year, I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks in the US and watch a number of NBA games. I am 29 years old, have played at a decent level my whole life and have spent a lot of time watching basketball players from all over the world in my home country of Australia. I am a point guard by trade and have always paid particular attention to how the best of them handle the rock.

During my NBA "tour," I saw Deron, CP, Crawford, Rondo and Jrue, all guys I'd consider outstanding ballhandlers, with CP and Crawford the best of that group. I don't say this without understanding the gravity of it, but Kyrie, IMO, is clearly better then all of them. He dribbles super low to the ground, with his hips and shoulders down, so every change of direction he makes is unbelievably quick - almost like a great running back - and his control of the ball is every bit as good as CP & Crawford.

I was at this game, which was one of about 10 times he did something totally ridiculous with the ball:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRXKZHuAIz8

He is far and away the best ballhandler I've ever seen. Just my 2 cents

The only people that said LeBron* are his dickriders. What a stupid bunch.

This. LeBron is the best player alive, no doubt, and he can handle the ball well, no doubt.

But his handles aren't even close to that of Kyrie, CP3, Jamal Crawford, John Wall etc etc.

Not saying LeBron has weak handles, but these other guys are just better, and im sure LBJ would admit that

This

I haven't seen Kyre play much. But the ball appears to be stuck on CP3's hands, he simply never loses control of the ball no matter the situation he's in. It's a part of him.

It's actually REALLY simple to anyone who watches games:

Chris Paul
Kyrie Irving
Jamal Crawford

And everyone else you make a case for at best is 4th place.

I wouldn't say Crawford had the best handles as opposed to the most unorthodox.
Jamaal is in a category where he has deceptiveness that can get him to the basket in a non-conventional way. Crawford, Rose, Ginobili, Wade, and Harden have this skillset. But I wouldn't let them handle and protect the ball for me.
I'd say Kyrie has the best handles at full speed. I don't see how Nash is not listed. I think the focus is too much on flash in this category

Trollsmasher
07-09-2013, 01:15 AM
LeBron may have the tightest handles.

For example, this RS in crunch time he averaged 7,3 less TOs per 48 minutes than Kyrie.

You can be as flashy as it gets, but when you lose the ball, it is for nought

SamuraiSWISH

hateraid has exposed himself countless times not knowing talent or the game. Iverson not having handle, Beasley > Rose, etc He's a knucklehead who thinks he knows what he's talking about. Now it's Crawford is just unorthodox. Riiiight.

Crawford is clearly among the best with having the ball on an absolute string. People in the league would agree too.

Then we have Trollsmasher, since when are turnovers directly related to ball handling? They're not. Errant passes, forcing the issues. It's not indicative of ball handling abilities alone.

:wtf:
When have I ever said that? Iverson and Rose are 2 of my favorite players. Find me exactly where I've posted what you've stated. I've never said a bad thing about either of them. I'm a Philly guy who's even stated before that Iverson has the best handles of all-time. I think you've got the wrong guy pegged.

As for Crawford, if he had the best handles then he should be the primary ball handler for every team he's played on. I'm a fan of his one-on-one skills. I think he's the most confident in taking those risks and freezing his defender but maybe my criteria is different when it comes to judging ball handles. The question is who's the best, not who's the funnest to watch.

Kobe

All the dude that are listed here would probably pass the ball when they are trap, double/triple team or defense gets tougher so they can secure the ball compare that to Kobe who doesnt even need to pass the ball to get out of trap or defense.. This just proves how great Kobe's handles is.. Handles of Gawd..
