Super role player? Fringe All-star? or All-Star?

And would you rather have Jimmy Butler or Kawhi Leonard for the future?

Kawhi. He's shown what he can do on the biggest stage.

All Bulls fans do.

Why do you care?

Because it's a shitty nickname that has nothing to do with how he plays, but is all about his last name. Just because his last name started with "Bu" his nickname has to be Buckets? No.

I love Jimmy Butler, he deserves a better nickname than that unfitting horse shit.

James Posey, maybe.

And there isn't on GM that would take Butler over Kawhi Leonard.

Jimmy will be the michael jordan of summer league. He made so many beautiful 'buckets' when the shot clock was winding down last season.

Kawhi is going to be a very special player. That's not a knock on on Butler either. But Kawhi looks like he he has all star potential.

Probably somewhere around that Josh Howard/Caron Butler area. Hopefully without the injuries or Josh Howard's general stupidity. Solid player, good defense, some nice offense, and will play a good all around game for you.

Some interesting answers. A lot of answers were pretty predictable.

I would probably take Kawhi at this point because i already loved his game then saw what everyone else did in the Finals but check out their 2013 playoff averages....

Butler 12 games Kawhi 21 games

13.3 ppg 13.5 ppg
5.2 rpg 9.0 ppg
2.7 apg 1.0 apg
.5 bpg .5 bpg
1.2 spg 1.8 spg
44% FG 55%FG
82% FT 63% FT
41% 3PT 39% 3pt
40 mpg 37 mpg

Kawhi sustained his production over more games but also has an experience edge. Kawhi played in 64 games last year averaging 24 minutes. Meanwhile Jimmy Butler only played in 42 games last year playing 8.5 mpg.

Jump to this past season and Jimmy played in all 82 games averaging 26 mpg due to breaking into the rotation later in the season, and then started 20 games. Kawhi meanwhile played in 58 games averaging 31 mpg.

Jimmy stepped up quickly for the Bulls with limited NBA experience. Kawhi has already done a lot but i think the two are comparable in their great on ball defense, their athleticism, and quite demeanor although both being super tough players coming from tough childhoods, Jimmy having no parents basically by age 14 and Kawhi's dad being shot at his own carwash he owned when Kawhi was 16.

I know it looks like Kawhi is the clear cut choice right now but we shall see what Jimmy can do next season as a starter playing major minutes from the get go.

Different players. Some similarities too but not the next luol Deng. More athletic for damn sure though. And I missed why that was funny?

His nickname is Jimmy Bags, because he's a superior defender than he is an offensive player. Jimmy Buckets makes no sense, because he isn't a scorer like that at all. If he was, he'd have a REALLY high ceiling. But honestly, I don't see either of them being more than a Ron Artest, Josh Howard caliber players. Either due to skill set, intelligence, or mentality.

Jimmy "Brickwall" Butler? or Jimmy "Lockdown" Butler? :confusedshrug:

Jimmy Buckets stuck for some reason. I always call him by his last name, but alot of Bulls fans like to call him Jimmy Buckets.

Leonard and Butler are probably the same person.

Athletic, great defensive SF, offense consisting mainly of spot up 3p shooting, never uttering a single word during the game, idiotic hairstyles, being generally pain in the ass of an opponent...

I would say Kawhi has higher ceiling though.

I don't see him as a fringe all-star, more of a defensive guy who can still score a little bit. Nothing special, but def able to help a team, and the kind of guy you want on your team.

I see K. Leonard as that fringe all-star who can do it all.

Buckets makes no sense. If Bulls fans are calling him that you guys are dumber than I thought. So I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say a few isolated morons call him that.

Leonard over Butler. I see Butler as nothing more than a really good role player. And why is he compared to Caron Butler who has an offensive repertoire? Maybe the later version of Butler is who you see Jimmy being. Which is a solid role player. Ron Artest is a better comparison. Artest light.

Super Charged Byron Russell...

Or he could swing to more of a Caron butler type which i thought was a good comparison too.

He is still very raw in terms of a final product, he has the tools to develop his offensive game, but at worst he will be a role playing (starter) defender who can hit the deep ball - there is always a job for those players - "glue" players who compliment franchise players...

Too early to call it. Players who show good potential in their first two seasons usually either stop improving or take another big step forward in their third season.

He's a gym rat, and having earned Thibs' trust he'll continue to play a ton of minutes, so I'm really hopeful that the latter will happen this year. Plus he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective, so he should benefit from playing alongside a player of Rose's caliber.

I was talking about Butler. No doubt Kawhi has all star potential written all over him. He seems like another Shawn Marion type of player.

Funny, that's also the number of starters we were missing, and the number of franchise players Miami has on its roster.

Depending on who is around him, I could see him in the 15-17 ppg range as he developes his offensive game. He's good at drawing fouls and could take it to the rim and is a decent finisher along with a nice long range stroke.

Between Leonard and Butler, I'd take Kawhi too.

I would probably wait til the end of the season to figure out where he is heading offensively. He's been injured for stretches, and I believe he's still playing through injuries.

His shot is still shaky and he turns the ball over, but its hard to produce anything with the terrible spacing the Bulls have sometimes. If Dunleavy or Snell can't get it going, its a real grind just to get a good look. Thank goodness Augustin is still able to shoot at a decent %.

One bright spot though is this guy is good at drawing contact and getting his shot off.

If he doesn't develop a smoother shot, his ceiling is probably Deng.

Defensively not even worried about it, this guy gets it, and its a product being on a team like the bulls, having a great attitude and work ethic plus Luol mentoring.

Deng has a much more consistent jumper than Butler

Both players handle the basketball not very good. I would give Butler the edge with handle because he has a better first step.

Deng can't beat an average 3 off the dribble unless he comes off a curl and his momentum is already taking him to the basket.

Butler has a lot better range on his 3 point shot.

Deng is probably longer and a better finisher around the rim.

Butler is better at drawing contact than Deng.

They are very similar players and honestly I hope we keep both.
