View Full Version : It Wasn't A Nightmare, Ray Allen's 3 Pointer Did Go In

He hit the shot, and the Heat ending up winning it all. So whats the point of bringing up all the hypothetical BS if he missed it? Or how the Heat were close to losing? Is the NBA going to give the Heat an asterisk now for now for not winning by enough points? Hate to break it to some of you, but LeBron is in fact a 2x Finals MVP. Wade now has 3 rings. Allen now has one more ring than KG and Pierce. Spo has coached more NBA championship teams than Don Nelson, Jerry Sloan, Rick Adelman, and George Karl combined. And the Spurs undefeated streak in Finals is OVER. It wasn't a bad dream, it really actually all happened. Enough with the what if scenarios. Its time to accept it and move on.

I was one of those who's heart was shattered when that shot went in. But I'm not delusional enough to make "what if" excuses.

There's really no point in arguing against reality.

-The role player (Ray Allen) gets credited for making one of the most clutched shot in league history.
-The superstar (LeBron James) gets praised for having one of the greatest back-to-back elimination games(Game 6 and Game 7).

The person you can bash is Coach Popovich for not having Duncan in there to stop Bosh from getting the O-REB.

True, but for someone to actually try to use Ray Allen's 3 as a knock against LeBron is insane to me. I hate it the same way LeBron stans try to use Robert Horry and D Fish's last second shots in games against Kobe though. It's like all these fugging idiots 100% ignore everything else before that. It's just plain stupid. That's how I know none of these idiots ever played basketball. Or hell maybe they played, but they weren't good. Ray Allen took the shot because LeBron was scared? LeBron had just attempted a shot and missed and Bosh got the rebound and kicked it to Ray Allen in his sweet spot.

No, I don't think Kobe would've buried that shit in that particular instance. Kobe would've been shooting that over two or three defenders more than likely. I've seen Kobe miss wide open shots before too though. Last I checked I can't recall anybody shooting 100% from the perimeter.

I'd like to see exactly what point in time they're referring to. Odom and Bynum indeed stepped up or take up the slack for Kobe a game here or there if he was struggling offensively sure. There's NOTHING wrong with that. As far as carried though, I mean, how long did this supposed carrying last? One game? One series? One playoff run? Tell them hoes to be more specific. Did he do anything else since his shots weren't falling? Did he crank up his defensive intensity? Did he get more rebounds than he normally does? Did he help create better looks for his teammates those games he struggled? I question everything.

And what made it all that harder, was that I liked the Spurs and wanted to see Duncan put up number 6.

Watching that sequence in the last minute or so, I couldn't believe what I was watching. James hits a 3, Duncan misses a dolly, then Miami throw up a shot that misses, ball clangs up in the air and softy marshmellow Bosh comes up with a tough offensive rebound. Then he shoots a desparate pass over to Allen in the corner, with a spurs guy closing in on him and Allen hits a 3. I was literally in shock, couldn't believe it.

I wonder what Lebron was thinking with a minute to go in that game. He must of been thinking about how the media are going to pick him apart no doubt. And perhaps even the thought of leaving the Heat to join someone else, I'm sure that crossed his mind too.

That game pretty much sums up the last decade for me.

Anyways, I expect a winning record this year. Whether we win the division or not, I'll be happy if Tannehill continues to improve and we have a winning a record, and a shot at the playoffs. If anything, I'm thinking a shot at the wildcard. The Pats are in disarray, but they still have Belichick and Brady. It's all on Tannehill. The defense will be good like last year, and the offense obviously has improved... couldn't be any worse. They were two missed game winning FGs in a row against the Jets and Cardinals from making the playoffs last year.

Patriots are basically a lesser version of the Spurs right now. They might make it deep in the playoffs, but there days off winning championships are over for the time being.

Dolphins hasnt been relevent in a while, since Marino and thats pretty sad.

You are telling me. We used to be a well respect franchise that everybody would always rank high off reputation alone. Now it's rare to see anyone in the media give them credit. The Hurricanes haven't been that relevant since the early 2000s either. As much as I am enjoying the Golden years of this Heat franchise, I miss watching relevant football. There's nothing like the a playoff and championship game, or even just being in the hunt.

Correct. They will do what they always do. They will win 10+ games with Brady and Belichick alone, and then lose in the playoffs. I mean I would take that any day, but those two alone don't make up for the flaws they have every year when they have to face good teams in the playoffs. Like when they lost to the Giants the 2nd time in the SB, they got a bye week, a overrated Tebow led Broncos team, and they only had to win one game to make the SB. It took a dropped pass and missed FG for them to make the SB.

When they won 3 SBs, they had an all around team. Now they just go how far Brady and Belichick take them.

You have the right to dislike Battier, but this is a foolish statement. He was red hot in the Finals in 2011, and he was big in game 7 of the Finals this year. Plus he's a versatile defender and a good teammate. He earned both of his rings.
