View Full Version : I Honestly Feel Basketball Isn't The Same After Seeing LeBron

There will never be another player like him in NBA history. By far the most exciting player in NBA history imo. The combination of elite defense, 3pt shooting, slashing, playmaking, historically good playoff games (Headband game, Cramp game, Game 5 Detroit, Game 6 Boston, etc.) It's literally gotten to the point that I find everyone in the league absolutely boring. I am hoping Wiggins is the real deal for the sake of entertainment. It's going to be an awful day for the league when this man retires.

Let me get this straight, because it's one thing to be a stan of a player so much that you actually talk trash about his team and teammates surrounding him. But this is a whole new level of stan-dom that I've never seen before... Are you actually telling everyone that you are not even a fan of basketball, ONLY a fan of Lebron James? Because a basketball fan does not find everyone in the league to be "boring" - a basketball fan loves basketball played at the NBA level, period. But your actually saying right here right now, that all you care about is Lebron and everything else is boring and your not interested in it?

I'm a fan for life of the game. But no one else can do what Lebron does. We have seen the best do it. It might be a long time before he is ever topped. Maybe forever

He's kind of a coward. All the natural talent in the world, but like the cowardly lion (his logo) he doesn't have the heart of some of the more likeable players I've ever seen in terms of competitive intangibles: Jordan, Iverson, etc.

The whole going to Miami thing was pretty bogus. He had the stage set in his hometown of Cleveland to live out a story book tale, every boy dreams up of living as an athlete. It was a soft move. His passiveness at times is also alarming.

But at the end of the day, he's been the savior of modern basketball for America. He's the best player I've seen since prime Jordan. The best HS player I've ever seen, by far. Ready for the league both in body and skill by 17 or 18 years old. He's a basketball switch army knife. 6'8, PF sized PG ... who moves with the fluidity and handle of a guard, extremely athletic like he was created in a lab or from another planet.

Great decision maker, and passer. Willing to get teammates involved. A 6'8, smart, efficient, rebounding version of Stephon Marbury almost.

Can score at an elite level as well. Defends PG - PF, at an exceptional level. Great team, rotations defender. Basically an evolutionary basketball melting pot of all that came before him: Magic, Pippen, Hill, Penny, McGrady and a dash of MJ. He's a top five all-time talent, and his resume will probably put him top five all-time as well.

LeBron was the guy who bridged the gap between the post MJ era of stars who played at times extremely selfish. LeBron could pass, and basically re-integrated that into superstar's games. A dash of Bird and Magic there. Which was great to see. He also helped bring out nation in international competition back to the prominence it once wise while bringing in the ability to pass. Which IMO is his most redeeming and dangerous weapon as a player.

As for Andrew Wiggins? I don't believe the hype yet. He hasn't been as impressive to me as LeBron was in HS. His handle and passing ability leaves a lot to be desired, let alone on LeBron's level at that age.

I agree, I think Steph Curry is much more fun to watch than Lebron.

MJ changed the game. I watched him when I was very young with my dad, I was a Laker fan and didn't like Kobe at first because I thought no way this kid was going to be the next MJ. I grew to love Kobe, and he is really fun to watch, probably the second most fun player to watch in his prime.

MJ however, was on another level. He was exciting and inspired such confidence and he almost always backed it up.

The stupidity of this post doesn't even warrant a response. LeBron is an all-time great. T-Mac is a career loser, and Penny is a good player but not on LeBron's level. Let's pretend like LeBron was carried by Wade with two bad knees, shooters who were ice cold until the Finals, and Bosh with 0 points in game 7. LeBron may have annoying fans, but he deserves all the credit he gets.

Bumping this thread for future Lebron meltdowns and choking

His fans are the worst, they prop this guy up anyway they can and overlook some pretty obvious weaknesses that he has.

He is so lucky that Allen hit that shot and he then was able to show his best game in game 7, because if they didn't Lebron would be seen as a career loser by many and crucified by the media. He would of been criticised for another finals letdown and nobody would dare put him in top 5 or top 8 alltime discussions.

Lebron is the only player that gives you the sense he has total control over the game, over the pace and flow, the offense and defense of both teams, watching him is like watching a puppet master. That's why I am never scared of Heat losing crucial games because I know Lebron will somehow make some crazy impossible shit happen to come back. If I am a fan of opposing team I shit myself every time he touches the ball and crosses half court, he is dangerous everywhere at all times I don't care if he isn't an amazing shooter. He has "it", anything can happen at any moment.

No other player controls the game like him, no one. His dominance is unmatched.

Wow, gagging taken to new levels. :facepalm

But on the hand, you can count on him turning the ball over on consecutive possessions in crunch time or disappearing for stretches of games in playoffs and being passive for 3 quarters of games...

If you want to talk versatility, Durant is the most versatile the NBA has ever seen.

Please tell me this is a joke? The same Durant that can't even guard Mario Chalmers? Dude isn't even the lead dog of the Thunder.

Cmon not everyone is perfect like MJ, Lebron had his faults but scored like 18 points in that quarter, those 3 straight turnovers sucked ass though.

A story book tale of a once-a-lifetime talent rots in a small market team(see KG) whose owner is both too cheap and too incompetent to find a better 2nd option than Mo fukking Williams so eventually his team had to lose despite him posting a historic 38/9/9 against Magic???:biggums: :biggums:

And every boy's supposed to dream of this????:wtf:

I was very impressed with that game 7 performance. But I ask myself, where was he for sustained periods of games and stretches of playoffs where he literally was either passive or non-existent. There were other big games he was simply nowhere to be seen? He has talent of a top 5 player alltime, but people are quick to annoint him there without him actually proving himself to belong there.

He plays like a good player most of the time, but only steps into greatness in small doses. I just don't see a player who exerts dominance from a game to game basis. Sure he puts up the stats and has had the fortune to escape with 2 championships, but nothing he does convinces me of greatness, which is very unlike what I see in the current top 5 alltime greats.

If you don't think LeBron James is a great player, I don't know what to tell you. No one should give two shits if there are 5-10 or even 20 players who were better, he's still a phenomenal player, appreciate him and stop acting like a bunch of bitches.

This paragraph is more applicable on Michael Jordan

I doubt the historically playoff game by lebron you lists is more memorable than MJ. at least it won't be replay as much as MJ's playoff games (countless replay) for certain. My words may disappointed you but no lying
