It's really simple actually. DD will not accept returned donuts. So if you were to order a box of donuts and then go back into the store and say that they gave you the wrong donuts or you even ordered the wrong donuts, they let you keep the first box and give you the ones you want.

I like Krispy Kreme's much better in Japan. They are smaller and less greasy but still retain their Krispy Kreme'ness for lack of a better term. I had some really good ones last week.

Dunkin. A problem I have with KK is their Glazed doughnuts. The Glaze always liquifies once you touch it, I like my glaze dried.

Krispy Creme has better donuts from what I remember. The one in my area closed down in the mid 2000s though. They really didn't get much business especially in a shopping strip where there were some high end restaurants and better healthy food options that were around the same price.

I may be biased because as an east coaster, I've only had Krispy Kreme once, but I'm been eating DD my whole life. And based on this small sample size, I can honestly say I enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts more than I have Dunkin's. I remember when I ate it I thought to myself it was the greatest donut I'd ever eaten, and that's not a feeling I ever get from DD.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think BOTH Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts are overrated as phuq.

Krispy Kreme, easily.

Dunkin Donuts returned to LA last year after a 30 year absence. The East Coast transplants went nuts, but I thought it was highly mediocre. LA has tons of hole-in-the-wall shops that blow these chains clean out of the water.

With KK's it tastes like you're eating nothing but sugar and icing.

The "bready" donuts are the perfect balance of sweet and chewy. I don't see how sugar melting in your mouth is considered a good thing.

I had a dunk about a year ago , and they shrunk about 25%.....

Our region bakeries are a thing of the past.
One grocery store , factory makes them back in the woods, but a town 12 miles away still uses their bakery in store. (12 miles will not go out of my way.)
Best around if you want to call driving 60 miles to the next town.
