1. Facebook
Facebook is just stupid, and not because it is a total invasion of your privacy, but just the idea of it is stupid. I understand there are social losers who need it to find some sort of consolation in their lonely lives, but I see it as a total cop out to real life social interactions. Think about it, if you want to make some friends, then why not join the real world and meet real people? If you are fat, lonely, socially inept with crusty finger nails and rotten teeth, then why not take the time out to work on yourself and your social skills? And who the hell cares about connecting with old friends you no longer want any part of? They're no longer your friends for a reason (if they were truely your close homies, then you would still be in touch). Also, why would you want to get some a*s on facebook? How about going to your local bar or club? Surely, you're gonna get the real deal instead of jerking to some lame webcam porn. I hate facebook and everything it represents.
2. Xbox One
I know it's not a fad yet, but when it does come out, it'll be the next big thing. I'm hoping the PS4 would just kill it. We don't need to lose anymore of our privacies than we already have; I just don't like the idea of jerking off in the privacy of my room without some Microsoft nerd watching me with a throbbing dong at the other end.
3. Justin Bieber
This sounds pretty insignificant, but his popularity is incredibly disturbing. It goes to show that kids of this generation are no longer real men but secret lesbians trying to act black. I'm not trying to be racist, but feminine little boys shouldn't try to be ghetto; it screams of fakeness. We have a couple thousands of years to act like real men, and all it's going to take is 30 years to abandon our genetic disposition and act like a bunch of girls. Please. I grew up watching real men take care of real sh*t: they worked hard and provided for their families; now we have a bunch of girly men more concerned about looking pretty than doing what really matters.
Anyways, what fads do you guys wish would die out? I could go on but I'll stop for now.

PS4 is already taking a giant dump on Xbox One, and neither of them are out yet.
Myself, and many people I know are Xbox 360 players, but the majority of us are switching to Sony for this next-gen era.

Facebook is just stupid, and not because it is a total invasion of your privacy,
Not really. It's your choice, don't want your privacy invaded? Don't sign up. Simple fix.
but just the idea of it is stupid. I understand there are social losers who need it to find some sort of consolation in their lonely lives, but I see it as a total cop out to real life social interactions.
Why would a social loser want to use facebook? It's social media. I actually deleted my facebook to become a "social loser" because all facebook does is connect you with everybody you know, friends of friends etc. and so on. People use it on there phones, at work, tablets, school etc. so quit acting like every facebook user is some fat lonely guy in his mothers basement. In my experience the biggest facebook users are popular girls that feel like they need to update everybody constantly and take 100 pics :oldlol:
I do agree it's kinda a cop out to alot too real life stuff but it also leads to alot of real life social interactions, up to you what you do with it.
Facebook is generally used to connect with lots of people whom are already your friends or who you know, your acting like it connects random people or something. It has nothing to do with social skills. All facebook does is connect everybody.
Yeah you might have no interest in that, others do tho. I have tons of old buddies who I don't chill with because we went in different directions/live elsewhere etc. I don't really care what happens in alot of there lives but comes in handy if there back from school or something and it's not a close friend but somebody I wouldn't mind hitting up a bar with and catching up.
Also, why would you want to get some a*s on facebook? How about going to your local bar or club? Surely, you're gonna get the real deal instead of jerking to some lame webcam porn. I hate facebook and everything it represents.
My favorite part of facebook. Log in to facebook. See random girl you met a few times/are friends with/friend of a friend etc. See what she looks like, see if she's some drama filled girl or whatever. Chat with her and be like "whats up tonight, we should do something" or whatever and than bam you've set yourself up. Facebook leads to bars and clubs and parties. Just makes you extremely informed, saves time among many other things.
Hating facebook is stupid. It really is an amazing social tool. You can find bitches, parties, what everybody is doing that night, among many other things. Best part? Second you don't like it or find it annoying you delete your accounts. Tis what I did

Exactly. Bieber is a millionairre playboy doing his thing who at the age of 19 has probably f*cked more dimes than all of ISH combined. Yes his music is shit but I can't blame him, he doesnt write it himself, if someone offered me the chance to sing those shitty songs and become a global icon and millionairre I'd do the same thing and I think most of us would.
As for his clothes-he doesnt dress himself retards, he has a marketing team behind everything. I'd dress in the retarded clothes he does too if it meant getting millions.
People who hate on Bieber just come across as jealous insecure nerds.
As for facebook, its a useful form of contact, more convenient then emails because of the chat function+nearly everyone connected to it, but I agree its getting annoying all the social whores on there.
As for xbox vs playstation who gives a shit, Im sure both are going to make Microsoft and Sony millions of dollars.
The whole x-box vs playstation debate is just a marketing gimmick Im sure both companies are in on to make sure more people buy their stupid consoles as idiots feel a need to prove their loyalty to one brand or the other. Its not different from East vs West in 90s hiphop-a marketing gimmick used to drive up sales.

Facebook is the new way of initiating and maintaining real world social contact. Im sure at one time old people had similar complaints about the phone. And you mock it but private messages work. Eg. These god damned kids calling each other all damn night. And a lot of times you fall out of touch with old friends due to circumstances rather than purely by choice.
2. Xbox One

Feminine little boys have appealed to little girls for a long time. Besides one 24 year old girl I know, I dont think Bieber has any fans that arent teen or tween girls. It just so happens that demographic is arguably the most profitable demographic of fans to have. They are stupid and wont set limits on their spending, and they can often get their fathers to shell out cash.
Usher wasnt a fool he saw immediately the appeal of Bieber.
Your complaint is also laughable, there arent any grown men that are trying to emulate bieber and most of the girls that are going crazy for him will grow out of it.

According to Greg Mathis, sagging was adopted from the United States prison system where belts are sometimes prohibited[3] to prevent prisoners from using them as weapons or committing suicide by hanging themselves.
so prisoners pants were low due to no belts.......not becoz they were gay..........nice to know

I agree it's not a fad. It's just a way people wear their clothes. It's like how some people like to wear hats and some don't. Some people tuck in their shirts and some don't. It's just a style choice. People love to act like some of this stuff is new, but it's been around for a looong time and it's gonna stay around for a looong time
Same with Beiber honestly. He's not a Fad, he's just a performer that's popular. The Macarena was a fad. The whole "Harlem Shake" thing earlier this year was a fad. Things that people are obsessed with for a few months then they're gone

You are completely delusional if you think some sh*tty pop star is going to last a long time. No one can stay at the top in this genre for a long time; he will fade into obscurity like every other pop star before him.
And yes, although facebook has been around for a long time, it hasn't been this popular for very long; eventually people are going to realize their privacies (the biggest issue facing us the next decade) are being used, abused, and manipulated for god knows what purpose. Fads usually die out when memes change, and facebook is a thin ice away from obscurity with their holier than thou attitude towards privacy issues.
And Mavs, you are exactly right when you say I shouldn't use facebook because of this, which proves my point, sooner or later people are going to be fed up with it and demand a change. Facebook is a consumer product, and if consumers are fed up, they will find something newer and better, just like AOL and Myspace.

The problem I have with Justin Beiber is this: growing up my generation worshipped real men. Usually the father of the household is the idol. We all wanted to be like our fathers: you know the guy who takes care of the house, fixes sh*t, and put food on the table. Now kids just want to worship pretty boys because "they can get a lot of a*s." Yea apparently I'm jealous of him because of that.
It just proves my point that these girly ISH posters would bring that up to attack me. This is the reason why there are so many dead beat dads; kids are emulating a bunch of fake wannabee losers like Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, and whatever rap thug talking about money and hoes. They want to look like a pretty girl and get some a*s and that's all they strive for in life. What a bunch of losers. Kids of this generation will amount for absolutely nothing.

Yes he'll die out in popularity, but that doesn't make him a FAD. He's been around for years now. A fad doesn't last years. If that's the case then just about every singer in history is a "fad". Like I said to me fads are things that are big for a VERY short amount of time then disappear. Being big for a few years then not being popular anymore is just commonplace in music.
And yes, although facebook has been around for a long time, it hasn't been this popular for very long; eventually people are going to realize their privacies (the biggest issue facing us the next decade) are being used, abused, and manipulated for god knows what purpose. Completely wrong. You say FB has been around for a long time but hasn't been THAT popular for very long. First off yes it really really has. It's been like 3-4 years since the WEBSITE had a MOVIE made about it. And second, it's more popular than its ever been because IT'S GROWING AND GETTING MORE POPULAR. When you're bigger than ever 9 years after you first gained popularity, that's not a fad, hell that's a f*ckin era. Believe it or not, FB is nowhere near obscurity. You really seem to have beef with this privacy thing, but the 2 billion people that use it obviously don't. It's no mystery that FB uses people's info but they still use it. Just because you're uncomfortable with something doesn't mean you can make bold predictions that one of the biggest phenomenons of the past 50 years is "on thin ice" because of it.

A fad is not just about fashion; a fad is whatever is popular at a peak for a short amount of time and fade into obscurity; types of music, toys, products, inventions, can be fads, like pong, beanie babies, types of diets, musicians, etc.
So yes, all I listed under that definition is a fad, especially facebook. I mean social media won't die out anytime soon, but Facebook probably will, just like AOL and Myspace. Twitter is gaining ground over facebook.

How can you contradict yourself that quickly?
Facebook has been INSANELY popular for almost a decade. Myspace was big from 2004-2007. 3 years, and that might be generous. AOL was the top dog from the late 90s until the mid 00s, I'll give it maybe 5-6 years as #1. Facebook has already outlasted both of those.
Admit it, you just really hate Facebook and resent people that use it for whatever reason. All of your posts blindly attack it and say uninformed shit like it's on thin ice, its time is almost over etc, when NO EVIDENCE whatsoever is there to support it.
"A fad is popular for a short time. Especially Facebook which has been popular for 9 years". Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
I don't even know if you're at college age yet, but FB was HUGE on college campuses even in 2004-2005, back when it was TheFacebook. Just because you were late to the cruise doesn't mean its only been huge for a short amount of time.

You don't know the definition of a fad then, Frisbees are consider one of the biggest fads in history and guess what it's still around; people are still throwing frisbees around, but the craze lasted for a decade.
Facebook is just an outlet for socially inept people to communicate with others. If you were a social butterfly, you would rather hang out with your friends, meet girls at parties, and actually visit or pick up the phone to call your family and not post some lame update status as a form of communication. Sooner or later, people are going to realize it's all a gimmick and does not hold a candle to real life social interactions with people leaving the only people still obssessed with it are fat single moms, nerdy pimple face boys, old people, and of course, the occasion attention wh*re who likes the attention from these social losers because they can't get any in real life.

ORIGINALLY POSTED BY YOU 15 MINUTES AGO
:oldlol:
You say Frisbee is a fad, but people are still throwing them around decades later. But 15 minutes ago you said the definition of a fad is something that's big then fades into obscurity. You're honestly contradicting yourself to the point that I can't even take you seriously. Have fun gettin chewed out by everyone else instead
And oh shocker another rant against FB users saying they have no social lives. Did you get cyber bullied on there or something? lol
Obscurity:
The state of being inconspicuous, unpopular or unimportant.
Sure Frisbees have been around for a long time, but it's popularity died out after the 60s. It did a 10-15 year run, and then faded into obscurity, meaning the crazed mellowed out. The death of a fad does not literally mean the product will die out like you erroneously assume. It just means it's going to lose it's popularity after a strong run.
I seriously don't think you know the definition of a fad (or obscurity for that matter).

Blame it on Justin Bieber. Kids nowadays don't know what it's like to be a real man; they all want to look like a bunch of girls. This is the reason why there are 100x more homosexuals being breed from this generation than all the others combined.

No, the reason for that is society as a whole is more welcoming.
There are still gays to this day who are afraid to come out, so you can imagine what it must have been like back in more bigoted times. Gayness has remained pretty consistent in terms of numbers. It's a genetic anomaly that pops up at a pretty fixed rate.

I know this is the popular liberal notion, but it's more about attitude.
Evidence: prison.
So attitude has to have some effect an influence on homosexuality. I doubt any prison mates were genetically disposed to homosexuality, and at the same time, I believe some people are born that way. It's not entirely black and white; it's both ends of the spectrum and with this taken into consideration, this generation's attitude towards femininity, disdain for masculinity, and acceptance for girly attire and image, could in some way influence the increase in homosexuality amongst teen boys we see today.

Prison is not good evidence, because those men are isolated from women. And, when they bone, it's not because they're attracted to each other. Sometimes it's a way of dominating another man to assert their position in the hierarchy, or they are just looking for a moist hole to poke. When they go back to their cells, they're still beating off to Nicki Minaj in a mag, and when they get out they go back to boning women.
The difference between that unique predicament and a lot of teenage boys today is that those teenage boys are surrounded by girls. So, while they may dress "girly" many of them are still involved with females. And, in some instances, it's the females who are promoting that style and finding it attractive.

So let me get this straight, they are not gay because they are lonely and isolated from woman?
Sorry homeboy, when you put a throbbing dong in your mouth, you're gay, period. End of story.
Which again proves my point: attitude and acceptance has a direct influence on homosexuality. These guys are turning gay because they are lonely and it's acceptable in prison, so the whole idea it is all a genetic disposition is bullsh*t. If straight men are entirely straight with no attraction towards a male at birth, then why are there so many men in prison having sex with other men? If homosexuality is all genetics, then the attraction towards the same sex would not be there at all. Those guys would beat it until their next conjugal visit, but the fact of the matter is the attitude and acceptance has an influence and these guys are partaking in a*s on a*s action because of it.

It's not always coming from a place of homosexuality and desiring the other man when it comes to prison psychology. Many times they are not deriving any "pleasure" from the act but rather use it as a means to an end. You may not have the critical thinking capacity to understand a concept like this though.

Because you missed the point. The acts are often not basd on attraction. That's why when they get out, they go back to boning women and never interact with a man like that again. Totally different than a homosexual man who only prefers men.

This is a very feministic way of thinking; I'm willing to bet you are trying to curve ball the definition in order to get some a*s on a*s action and still proclaim yourself as a straight man.
The definition of homosexuality is this:
The act of sexual activities between persons of the same sex.
When a guy sucks a d*ck, he's gay. When he takes up the bunghole, he's gay. When he let's another man take it up his bunghole and sucks his d*ck, guess what, he's gay.
It doesn't matter if he's bored and looking to pass the time, ANYTIME he engages in a sexual activity with the same sex, by definition, he is gay.

Incomplete definition as you are not taking desire into account. It's not as simple as simply pointing to an act alone. They are homosexual acts, yes, but they are not borne of an innate desire that's existed for as long as the individual has known. Those men would rather be f*cking women. Period. Truly gay men want men and only men.
If they truly turned gay, every single one of them would continue their behavior in a state of freedom amongst female availability.

No male wants to look like Bieber. He appeals solely to the females.
Here are some other examples of guys females worshiped in the past few generations. Do they fit your definition of "real men"?

Ok then, call it what you want, they are bisexuals which is also a form of homosexuality. If they are having sex with other men even though they would rather screw a girl, it just means they are bisexual. By definition of genetics, it means people are predisposed to certain specific sexual behavior without the influence of external causes. I'm arguing, due to environmental causes (such as the surroundings of a prison), these men are more likely to be influence to partake in homosexual activities.
I don't even understand how you can argue with a straight face man sucking a man off does not make him gay because he would rather prefer woman. It goes back to my original premise: environment dictates homosexuality in some degree and genetics does as well. It's not that black and white.

Skinny jeans.
Fine women who suddenly decide to shave one side of their headI tend to try to just roll with the punches when it comes to fads. I know something's always bound to sweep through, take everything by storm, and die out, only to be replaced with something else just as ridiculous.
That said, yes, not a fan of skinny jeans and am most definitely not a fan of women shaving the sides of their heads. I'm also not a fan of the subtly emerging trend of females wearing clothes with super high waistlines again (like the 70's). I don't see it all over the place so I'm not sure if it's fad status yet, but they're certainly popping up more often than they used to.
This is a weird example but kind of what I'm talking about:
