This decade? Lebron easily. Towards the end of game 6 they were already getting the excuses ready even though Lebron had laid an egg in the game up to that point.

Kobe gets crucified even when they win.

When you shit the bed and shoot 6-24 in the biggest game of career...while being carried by your teammates.......people are going to criticize him. When it comes to impact of top 10-12 players all time, Kobe has the least on the game. Dude is just a scoring sideshow without the most stacked frontcourt in the league.

I feel like there is always an excuse factory waiting for anything involving Kobe or Wilt.

Wilt played against the GOAT TEAM OF ALL TIME

NO Team even COMES CLOSE

That BOSTON Celtics TEAM Had over 8 HALL of Famers at the SAME Time.

Itll be like today you have a team of

8 Future Hall of Famers, basically any 8 multiple all stars with one of the best c and pg and sg

Shaq-Kobe ran the League,
Jordans Bulls ran the league

now imagine adding 4-6 more HALL OF Famers and Multiple time all stars on those teams

That was Basically the Boston Celtics

and even then WILTs teams lost in game 7s by 2-4 pts
and WILT Outplayed his competition, his teammates faltered badly

Injuries sadly. We all saw what Wade could do during the winning streak. Once his leg went out, he slowed down. And Bosh, what his his excuse? :oldlol: Birdman had more of an impact than Bosh for most of the playoffs. A guy that was unemployed to start the season. And Kobe? He loses in the 1st round unless his frontcourt is the best in the league. Hell, he even missed the playoffs in his prime  Like I said, he is no more than scoring sideshow without a stacked froncourt. The guy was Allen Iverson with a rape accusation :oldlol:

Lebron is getting up there, but honestly, we have had a good 10 years of Kobe stans constantly degrading the accomplishments of players in the top 10. Im not even a Knicks fan, far from it. But Ewing doesn't deserve nearly the amount of disrespect he does. People always talk about the Knicks 90s defense, but those teams weren't all that. His 2nd best player was undersized SG with streaky shooting. And a bunch of hard playing role players that could play D and rebound but weren't the greatest offensively. He didn't get to play with Houston, Sprewell, etc until he was past his prime, And even past prime Ewing had his moments where he could carry the team.

Durant started get some blame after the 2012 Finals. Westbrick still takes the brunt of it, but people started calling him out after he contributed nothing on defense, playmaking, or rebounding. The humble attitude also seems to be slipping a way. Not that I care how these athletes portray themselves in the media, real life, etc. But he has moments of being kind of a passive-aggressive dude.

Because at the end of the day, nobody really cares that much about CP3 and nobody is putting him close to a top 20 list. Guys like LeBron and Kobe who have actual cases to be regarded as all time greats get little things picked apart because they're in the actual discussion. CP3 isn't in any discussion, so people don't even bother with the details.

Exactly. The legit historical players get the criticism. Dirk, KG, Duncan, Lebron, Shaq, Kobe, Wade, and Durant...those are the guys that will all finish their careers somewhere in the top 20 or so all time.

We just saw this with Parker. You can always tell how good a player really is in the minds of fans when they play awful. If nobody cares much...then said player just isn't actually thought of as a superstar or all time great.

Parker's horrific games 6 and 7 in the finals are a perfect example of this.

It's a little early on Durant. It LOOKS like he's on a path towards being a great player, but who knows? All the others are already all time greats. If Durant retired today or was injured, he's honestly had a forgettable career. He might will continue towards greatness, but there's no guarantees.

Agreed. That is why I said "will"...I'm of course assuming what you say doesn't happen.

But yes. If Durant retired today he would not fit the bill...but he's going to most likely end up on the top 25 or so level at worst in my opinion.

MJ is the greatest basketball player by far ever. There's a large list of GREAT basketball players that went ringless due to Jordan. One of the greatest centers of alltime ONLY got a ring because Jordan retired.

I say Tim Duncan. The guy stopped playing basketball from like 08-2011 and no1 really takes notice to it. Prisoners of the moment

MJ is the greatest basketball player by far ever. There's a large list of GREAT basketball players that went ringless due to Jordan. One of the greatest centers of alltime ONLY got a ring because Jordan retired.

Legitimate excuse to anyone who has any basketball common sense.

No, it isn't. It's actually one of the most flawed arguments I've read online, not just here on ISH.

Barkley was a part of 25 playoff series. He faced Jordan 3 times. 3 out of 25 times Jordan "stopped" his season short, 1 being in the Finals. So what happened to the other 22 times Barkley didn't face Jordan ? :confusedshrug:

I mean, I get what you're saying.

But be real with yourself, if not for Jordan. there's a very high chance players like Ewing, Malone, Stockton & Barkley would have rings. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but you get the point. It only takes 1 playoff run to get a ring. What if Barkley didn't meet Jordan in the finals that 1 time? He might have a ring...never know.

What about 92-93 when Barkley won the MVP and was on a 62 win Suns team that ultimately fell short due to.... wait for it... Michael Jordan and the Bulls.

The one time he got his closet to a ring was halted by the GOAT. the 3 for 25 thing doesn't fly with me when Barkley's best shot and prime involved Mike.

I feel like everyone kind of ignores Magic's losses and faults when some are pretty bad. Complete lack of D and losing to inferior teams sometimes, but neither of those are basically ever brought up. I mean, the losing to inferior teams isn't huge, but it seems to happen an awful lot in his career to me.

Its a pretty big stretch to say they choked in 94 and 95. First off, Barkley wasnt even in his prime anymore those seasons. They lost both series by a hair anyway, so its hardly a choke.

Players with multiple finals MVPs don't need excuses imo..

CP3 and Rose...Both plays with a solid roster around them.

They blew a 2-0 lead in 94 and 3-1 lead in 95. Sounds like a choke to me.

Thats a stupid way to define choke. If the Bucks blew a 3-1 lead against Miami, its not a choke, they're just a worse team. Being the worse team is not a choke. Playing like shit when you have the upper hand is a choke (Like Lebron in 11) Its even worse that you ignore the fact that he wasnt exactly elite or healthy in 94 or 95 anymore anyway.
If you want to criticize Barkley say he was a big reason they were a shit D.

Dumbest post ever.

1. LeBron has had worst shooting games than 6-24....He has even shot 6-24 himself vs the Celtics in the playoffs only to follow that up with a 2-18fg game :oldlol:

2. Kobe's Impact on the game makes his resume: Kobe Top 5 in playoff points, Career points, Playoff steals, All NBA First Teams, All Defensive First Teams, Allstar Games, Most Allstar MVPs, 5 titles and 2 Finals MVPs...His resume makes a case for top 5, let alone top 10-12....

3. Scoring sideshows don't avg 25-5-5....His "show" got us back to back titles. 34-7-5 in one Finals, 28-8-4 in the other.

4. Stacked Frontline? Meaning our FRONTLINE was stacked? Myth:

First title run in playoffs: Bynum 6ppg 3reb, Odom 12ppg (one less than Mo Williams)

Second title Run: Bynum 8ppg, Odom 9ppg, Artest 11ppg 4reb 39%fg. Yup, carried.

It was Kobe, Gasol as sidekick, and average role players. Whos also done nothing after leaving Kobe's team:oldlol:

Chris Paul has got to be on top of the list.

Everyone has such high expectations of him, then when he gets booted in the 1st/2nd round it's never mentioned, ever. If that were LeBron or Kobe everyone would be on those players asses. Chris Paul is the supposedly the 3rd best player in the league and consistently disappoints and has nothing to show for it.

So you really believe that a bynum (young and not dominant), ariza (mediocre player til he teamed with kobe) and Gasol (allstar that never won a playoff game). Was better then kg (allstar great defending legend), paul pierce (allstar celtic legend) and kendrick perkins ( average nba center)????

In your eyes bynum,gasol,ariza > perkins,garnett,pierce ???????????????????????

let me remind you this was 08/09

Id go with duncan(he missed a layup in the finals of game 7, and no blame? Are you kidding me?), kobe(6/24 in game 7 and terrible fg percentage(especially in the clutch) and no blame, just the reward. And a little for cp3
