View Full Version : 2005 ECF: Heat vs Pistons (for the clowns who claim SNAQ was an MVP candidate)

With Wade Heat were up 3-2 with Wade avg 30/6/5 46% in Games 1-4, including 38/8/4 in the two wins. In Game 5 Wade posts 15 pts, 5stls before leaving the game with a back injury with the Heat up 20.

Game 6...NO WADE
What happens with guy who Nash supposedly stole MVP from? 25 point blowout.

Get's pumped full of cortizone for Gm 7 Heat come within a possession of making the Finals.

Wade in the two series prior to the ECF: 29/8/7 52%, including sweeping the Wizards with prime Arenas/Jamison/Hughes with SHAQ avg 17/7 in Gms 1 and 2 and not playing at all in Gm 3 and 4.

Wade in playoff AND regular season was EASILY the best player on that team, figured since everybody was dispelling myths I might as well join the party.

There's a LARGE contingent that believe Shaw deserved MVP over Nash and that he was the best player on the Heat in 05.

People actually believe and espouse that foolishness, I've seen it MANY times during my years here.

Snaq got the second most MVP votes in the regular season.

Of course wallace and detroit punked him just like they always have in the playoffs

What the hell does a playoff series have to with a regular season award candidacy ?

Snaq got the second most MVP votes in the regular season.

I am aware, those media members are part and parcel of the assorted "clowns" I'm referring to. They voted Shaq because of the Heat's record and he was the established/popular guy, he was NOT nearly the best player on that team, regular or post season.

Shaq vs the Wallace boys 04 Finals:

27/11 63%

Regular Season - Shaq, so he was indeed a viable MVP candidate (missed some games though)
Playoffs - Wade takes control of the team

Exactly.

Another reason Wade had to take control was because Shaq got banged up.

Shaq had a deep thigh bruise going into the post-season, and wasn't right physically the entire post-season. He even missed the tail end of the Eastern Semis against the Wizards because of it.

Just because Wade showed out and took the reigns in the post-season, didn't mean his 2005 MVP candidacy wasn't worthy in the regular season, though.

But in reality Shaq was a monster that season also. Who won it that year Duncan?

Well Nash got it because he made that team go from like 30 to +50 win no?

Yeah, 29 wins to 62 wins. That was a pretty good roster too.

Wade averaged 24\7\6 on 47% shooting in the regular season as a 2nd year player.

Shaq averaged 22\10\2 on 54% shooting

Very debatable who was the best player in the regular season for the Heat

Myth

Yeah, 29 wins to 62 wins. That was a pretty good roster too.

Yeah, the roster improved, the health improved (2004-05 starters were amazingly healthy while 2003-04 had more health issues), there wasn't a mid-season trade meant to tank the season, there wasn't a mid-season coaching change, and Nash/D'Antoni were a match made in heaven.

Wade was so fantastic in this series. Heat almost beat the Pistons in the conference finals. Hamilton couldn't guard wade before he missed a game with his rib injury.

that niggga wallace would beat the living shit out of shaq and even shaq knew it. Shaq was renowed for throwing little tantrums, elbows or straight dirty pushes on other big but soft players.
When wallace guarded him he behaved like an uncle tom
