6'7" forward that can lead the league in rebound with 18rebs/game and the king of all hustle. That was willing to sacrifice his body to save the ball.

Will there be another "The Worm" the NBA can produce.

Kenneth Faried is close.

Chris Andersen has too much of an offensive game but if he focused on just rebounding he could be similar.

There will always be undersized players who can rebound (e.g Marion, Faried, etc.). I don't think we'll ever see another that's quite like Rodman though.

Kevin Love is 6' 7.75" and got 16 rebounds a game over 3 months. not that hes Rodmanish really. Rodman was a man to man defender before anything else until he was like 30.

Kenneth Faried is close.

About as close as Anthony Randolph is to Kevin Garnett.

No.

I don't think there will ever be another player who puts all their effort into the "little things" and tries to master it. Espescially this generation of kids where they either want to be a shooter or shotblocker. All the kids are either working on their "range" to shoot more jumpers or are just an athletic 6'8+ kid with no skills who jumps around the basket and gets a block by chance. Basically just the flashy, intense plays that occur from time to time instead of the hustle for loose balls or boards that happens every possession.

GOAT rebounder who could defend all five positions? I don't know if we'll ever again see a player like that.

Kevin love?:facepalm

No those fu*king scrubs are NOTHING LIKE RODMAN.:facepalm
I swear half the idiots on here didn't even watch bball before "the decision"..

Early Ron Artest honourable mention in terms of defense. I don't think well see another defender like Rodman though due to rule changes and the pussyfication of the league..

THe closest thing was ben Wallace @ 6'7'' ~ 8" without shoes. He was a great defender who could guard everything except speedy guards.

NO to Farried.

Ben Wallace is close enough but in terms of speed and athleticism, Rodman is way above Wallace. Also Rodman has the charisma that can attract many fans.

You will watch him the whole time because you will never expect what he will do everytime he plays.

short answer

NO

Rodman was a freak of nature. supremely athletic and with a motor that never stopped. He made it cool to do the dirty work. he would pass up layups to keep scoreless so his stat sheet showed 0 points 20 boards.

And dude was muthafukcin fearless

Phil sent him to Vegas during the playoffs ust to get his mind right. Think about that, the guy was one of a kind

How is Faried not close?

I'm not saying he on that level but he does hustle and get boards.

The Worm was great and his whole personality and antics set him apart from everybody

NO to Farried.

Ben Wallace is close enough but in terms of speed and athleticism, Rodman is way above Wallace. Rodman is on a totally different level in terms of hustling. Wallace on a different level clearing out space, and low post defense. Totally different players, and styles. Faried at least has some of Rodman's hustle/motor.

Also Rodman has the charisma that can attract many fans. Rodman attracts fans in the way a freakshow, or train wreck attracts a crowd. He's completely devoid of charisma.

The 6'6 small forward or the 6'8 power forward?

Rodman > Wallace at man to man defence in low post.

Well what do you expect? It's all these kids got to try and compare to Rodman. It's not their fault that they never got to see the golden era of the NBA.

Jae Crowder only got his spot in the NBA because of hustle. That kid has fire. Now he tries to improve his overall game, but in the first Dallas years he was 100% hustle. :applause:

League would blackball a Rodman clone and find a way to pin something on him, so he won't ever play in the NBA again...

No way the league allows a Rodman character to do what he used to do now.

That's the closest comparison I could think of.

Not an elite defender though, which Rodman was. Not the craziness either

Sure, the league will always see guys who can hustle and rebound but I doubt we'll see someone quite like Rodman. First off, he was an athletic freak. People thinking he was just a hustle guy who lacked athleticism are sorely mistaken. The guy had a gear few had in the open court and was a very fluid athlete.

Not to mention his ability to guard so many positions. Pound for pound, GOAT rebounder and arguably the most versatile defender ever. That's a lot he's bringing to the table.
