View Full Version : The "Domination" Of NBA Players At 2013 FIBA EuroBasket

Euroleague
09-10-2013, 04:10 PM
The first stage of the 2013 FIBA EuroBasket is over.

1. On this site, 99% of all the members claim that any and every NBA player will "automatically totally dominate when playing against Euro scrubs".

He will "always average huge numbers and have gaudy stats when playing against Euro scrubs". Because, "the NBA is elite and vastly superior, and is where the big boys play, while European basketball is inferior, and where the minor league players play."

Other THEORIES from NBA only fans that run rampant in this forum are that,

2. "NBA players always have better numbers and higher averages when they play against Euro scrubs."

3. "NBA players always play more minutes in joke Euro scrub competitions, because it is easier to play more minutes when you have less competition for playing time."

4. "NBA players always average more points against Euro scrubs than they do in the NBA against elite competition."

5. "NBA players always shoot a higher field goal percentage against Euro scrubs than they do against elite NBA competition."

6. "NBA point guards always average more assists against Euro scrubs than they do against elite NBA competition."

7. "NBA big men always average more rebounds against Euro scrubs than they do against elite NBA competition."

8. "NBA players always have less turnovers when playing against the Euro scrubs that can't defend."

and of course............

9. "NBA players always automatically lead their teams to championships, as soon as they play against inferior minor league Euro scrubs."

or maybe the funniest one of all.........

10. "NBA players always shoot over 40 or 50 percent from behind the 3 point line when they play against Euro scrubs that use that high school distance 3 point line."

So now, these THEORIES from the NBA only fans get put to an ACTUAL test.

All the TROLLING and LIES get exposed with ACTUAL facts.

Not the "facts" that the pathological lying psychopathic trolls like gabepizza, KG215, Rooster, Dr.J4ever, Cavs_FTW, nick young, etc., talk about here.

As you will see, numerous NBA players led their teams to early first round tournament exits, and in the majority of cases, their numbers are pretty much lower than their NBA numbers.

Keep in mind that these numbers are for the FIRST round of the tournament, which is the LOWEST LEVEL OF COMPETITION AT THE TOURNAMENT.

NBA ONLY FAN MYTHS BUSTED.

First: The fact that you are a ******* from Arkansas does not justify mistaking Czech Republic for Croatia:facepalm

Second: Why the **** are you pointing out 3 point shooting percentage while talking about freaking Vesely?:biggums:

Third: If you knew something about European basketball, you would have known that Czech Rep was the biggest outsider of the group. The odds of us winning over/under 1 game were 50/50. So pointing out that we were eliminated really does not make much sense:facepalm

Outside of FT% shooting, Vesely was the best player of the tournament. Going straight from NBA scrub to Eurobasket MVP:lol

This is really sad. You post a tiny sample size of a bunch of Euro dudes who barely play in the NBA you think that makes European players look better?

You're using per game stats and comparing them to NBA stats when the NBA game is 20% longer.

JAN VESELY PUT UP 17pts 11reb IN THIS TOURNAMENT. He had 17 points in his first 7 games TOTAL last season for the Wizards. At one point he had 41 points and 41 fouls given. So why do the worst NBA players play well against the best European players?

More dunks, less turnovers. Also better hairline.

Euroleague, can you explain V-Span's shitty stats?

Better scorer (more efficient on higher volume)
Better rebounder
Better Assist to TO ratio
Overall much better defender
Much more athletic
Higher basketball IQ
Better leader (He can pump up the whole team and all the fans while V-Span just stays there, watching with his creepy eyes)

Simply a much better player

29 current NBA players at the 2013 FIBA EuroBasket, and the vast majority of them either played like complete scrubs and/or just put up meaningless stats on terribly bad teams that got eliminated early.

And a whole bunch of them are just flat out complete absolute SCRUBS at that European level.[/COLOR]

Generally, former NBA players in Europe are there because they can't make a team in the NBA. Don't even act like any of them were ever stars. They are third stringers who went to Europe as a last resort.

Best/third best player in the world, a point guard, committing more than two turnovers for every one assist!!

Sorry everyone, I misread the title, I thought he was referring to Euroleague again and I was kind of tired of the same old arguments he makes.

Could someone post their NBA stats side by side with the Eurobasket stats so we can see both sides of the argument?

Euroleague is garbage. The poster, not the league.

I warned Spanoulis to retire so he wouldn't continue to embarrass his family and his nation but no he didn't listen. Now he has the ignominy of not only being an NBA scrub, of not only being on the first NT ever to be eliminated by an African team in a playoffs but not lose to #48 ranked Finland.

Spanoulis has now earned a reputation as one of the biggest scrubs and chokers of all time.

After Greece got embarrassed by Finland, I didn't think Euroleague would show his face here for a few days.

But this fool shows up with a tl;dr post. :facepalm

So basically their shooting and free throw percentages went down. How far off is it from their NBA percentages? Did you take into account that most of them are playing 30-35 mpg and taking a lot more shots than they did in the NBA, with the exception of Gortat, Batum, Calderon and Parker who played less? And, what does a lower free throw percentage have to do with anything at all? Could it be some of these veteran players are just out of sync from playing NBA ball for so long and just need to get a few more games under their belts to get comfortable? I would think going to a different team and playing by different rules would take some getting used to, even if you played with that team a few years ago. Do their Coaches give them the freedom to play the position like they do in the NBA? Or, are they utilized differently? I need some clear cut answers on this subject, because you seem pretty biased.

some NBA guys also use their national teams and euro teams to work on specific aspects of their games they don't get to highlight in the nba as well

Just going over the stats and the thing that jumped out at me was, the players that played heavy minutes in the NBA; Gortat, Parker, Dragic,Turk, Rubio, etc. all played alot fewer minutes, and they are the ones who's scoring, rebounding, and assists went down, while their percentages didn't. Wouldn't that be attributed to just playing less? The lesser players who played hardly any minutes in the NBA, played way more in Eurobasket, and their shooting percentages went down. Now, couldn't that be attributed to playing a lot more minutes and shooting more?

This guy grasping at straws, he's using Rubio RPG or small fowards BPG to discredit NBA players while Vasilis Tournovilis is sinking his own team.

He's a scrub in Europe right now and he's getting old, time to pack and move to China.

Sorry, I now realize my line of questioning was totally racist. I love the European race and will commit myself to community service deep in the Ozarks repairing outhouses, stills, trailers, and what not. When that is finished, I will get together with Euro league and watch his extensive collection of Euro league games on vhs. Only then will I be truly knowledgeable about basketball and race relations.
