Yeah I've got an 8:15 tomorrow morning so I'm probably going to go and buy it before I head to class tomorrow.

I would have preordered off of amazon but I just get everything shipped to my parents house so I wouldn't get it for a week or so. :coleman:

Start playing GTA 4 a couple months ago, ended up watching some walkthrough on youtube. Too boring to waste time playing it.

San andreas and GTA 1 still the best ones. No expectations for GTA V other than better graphics and some other gimmicks.

Big surprise... Not.

They gave GTA 4 a 10, and it wasn't close to a 10 game. They just overrate certain game franchises, GTA and COD being the biggest cases.

Has a 98 on Metacritic right now.

One critic gave it a 70 (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/10598-Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Review-People-Suck). The rest are between 90-100.

I really hate that i have no interest in gaming anymore. It used to my best pastime second only to sports. I downloaded GTA V 3 days ago for my friend and didn't play it for a minute.
Does anyone here have any tips to make me interested in video games again?

If you're not interested don't play games. Not quite sure why anyone would care or why you think it's such a problem.

I'm sitting in a Taco Bell across the parking lot from a GameStop, staking it out. My plan is to go start the line at about 8 PM, unless I see any movement before. At that point I will be scrambling across the parking lot and into the line. I don't expect to see any movement until about 9, but I'm going at 8 to be safe. I WILL be first in that line! Tonight is going to be amazing. It feels like Christmas! :pimp:

video games are for recreation. If you dont enjoy it dont play. There really is no other benefit than recreation. Its not like exercise where even if you dont like to exercise you should.

its kind of like drinking. I used to enjoy drinking a lot but after about 26 the hangovers good much worse and I rarely drink more than 1 drink nowadays. There really is no real benefit to drinking alcohol, so I dont make an effort to start.

Same thing happened to me. I used to drink like a fish. Then at about 28 the hangovers got to the point where I don't drink at all. No matter what happens...if I have a four-way with 3 brunettes...the hangover is so bad the next day that it isn't worth it. Not to mention I get seriously wild when I drink. I've had my face beaten unrecognizably by groups of people literally more times than I can count. Good times!

You know that you can just go to Walmart at around 11:45 and be out the door in no time right? Traditionally I've gotten my games from Walmart at midnight and I always ride by a GameStop (It just so happens to always be one by the Walmart I go to) and see people still waiting in a ridiculous line. It's as if they don't know.

What's your situation like now with your home and everything?

Same. Can't get a job. My theory is all these places I'm applying to are calling the owner and she's talking shit, cause I can't get a job ANYWHERE. McDonald's won't hire me because I'm "over qualified" and nobody else will give me a chance. I've been living in my car and job searching since March. It's starting to get cold here again. When I first started sleeping in the car in March, it was getting down to 10 below 0 until mid-April. It was really rough. Now it's getting into the low 40's at night. Woke up this morning with a tickle in my throat. But I just keep pressing on. Something will open up. In the mean time, I know a building in Eagle River that has a power outlet on the side of the building where I've never been harassed by cops. So I'll pick up my copy here in Wasilla at midnight, drive to Eagle River, run my extension cord from my car to the outlet, hook up my little TV and X-Box in the car and I figure I got until 7 am before I need to get out of there.

I'm pretty hyped for this game. What a month, the final episodes of Breaking Bad and the best GTA game ever is coming out. I've looked at streams and there is some amazing stuff in this game.

SPOILERS BELOW*** Don't read any further if you don't want to know:

So I guess some guy found this strange map with a mountain on it. He went exploring in a submarine by the mountain and discovered a tunnel. On the Ocean floor is a old spaceship. Not sure if that means we'll eventually be a able to steal a alien spaceship or what but it's exciting.

One thing that I saw was a shark eating the player when he was swimming in the ocean. Another time Franklin gets in a shootout with the cops and your dog Chop attacks the cops to help you.

This game is gonna be:bowdown:

Just came from my friends house, had a few mooseheads and played GTA V. He got the copy at midnight, and am I ever jealous!

I only played for about 45 minutes and watched him play for an hour or so, and it was so much fun. We didn't even do any missions. The city is huge and we didn't even explore the desert or the ocean...I was truly mesmerized by how beautiful the environment was. So much to do; I heard the story mode is about 40-50 hours and to get 100% will take approximately 110+ hours of playing.

I will probably get my copy on Wednesday because my wife's mom birthday is tomorrow and we have plans to take her parents out to dinner. I got work in 4 hours hours as well, sigh.

Enjoy the game guys, I can't wait to finally play it myself.

My reasonings are similar. In GTA V especially, the world is borderline overwhelming. I didn't know where I wanted to go or how I wanted to go there, so I just took my time, abided some street laws, and tried to soak it all in.

Ok, this is officially the best game I've ever played.
I only played a little over an hour, but I did quite a bit already. The intro was great. I've seen some people complain about it without actually giving a reason for why they didn't like it, but whatever.
I love how there isn't a loading screen popping up whenever I walk over to do a mission. Everything flows seamlessly.
The driving is terrific. I don't know if it's just because I have only played with Franklin so far (other than Michael in the beginning but that was a very short drive), but it's greatly improved over GTA IV.
Speaking of GTA IV, *start white text* I loved seeing Packie McReary. *end white text* As soon as he was shown, I turned into a little kid, giggling like I just saw my childhood hero. Corny of me? Yes, very, but I just loved it that much.
The shooting will take some getting used to. I found myself firing aimlessly when trying to move from one target to the next. I did practice the handgun at the Ammunation shooting range, but I didn't have much time to dwell into it further.
Overall, the game has been terrific thus far. Franklin has been cool, but I can't wait until the other characters get (re)introduced to the story.

I didn't play last night, but today I played using his discs, so mine was still unopened.

Played an hour, got really bored, and decided I was going to return the game.

This game was way more fun on ps2. I feel like half the fun of playing GTA was doing adult stuff while you were still a kid. Now that I'm 22 it's like, I could go drive a real car, or make real money, or fck real chicks. It's almost like a real life simulator where you get to see what it'd be like to be chased by cops.

Not worth $65 to me. I did enjoy the intro though.

I'm about to do the 2nd Heist with Trevor.
Did about 30 missions so far, running through the story mode first before messing around with the free roam. Haven't played Tennis or Golf, or other leisure activities. Rode the roller coaster and Ferris wheel though on the port. Really enjoying the dialogue, very humorous. Love all 3 characters but I'm leaning towards Michael because he's just a smooth ass operator when it comes to missions. He's the genius behind it all but Trevor is definitely the most entertaining character to play with. Franklin reminds me of CJ a lot; Mike reminds me of the character from VC and Trevor reminds me of Niko. All in all, great variety with the 3 protagonists BUT only 69 missions?! You have to be kidding me, that's a HUGE disappointment. I've done 50% of the story almost and really haven't been that heavily compelled.

Not too sure that this game is better than TLoU to be honest; TLoU so far has left a bigger impression on me. At this point, I enjoy San Andreas a little more. I don't know; the city feels alive and overwhelming but at the same time it feels like I'm driving around the same damn areas all the time. Of course, I haven't free roamed much at all so it's not for me to judge.

Overall, fantastic game...
My favorite moment was when I (as Franklin) dropped off Trevor at the strip club then moments later realized I have no missions available with Franklin so I switched off to Trevor...he's in the middle of the club hammered as shit (because the screen is all blurry) screaming at the top of the lungs "I see p*ssy and I want some right now". Then I go outside and knock the bouncer out before escaping the cops. :oldlol:

I'm sure when I start exploring the city I'll love it a lot more.
