McCalebb is every bit as quick as Rose and Westbrook, and every bit as athletic as pre injury Rose. Not Westbrook, but then come on, how many guys in NBA are?.........

Spanoulis is bigger than either of them, and while he isn't as fast as either of them, he's quicker than both of them combined, and from a purely all around athletic level (all aspects of athletic ability) - no one is more athletic than Spanoulis in basketball except LeBron.

So I'm not really sure what your point is..........

Besides, NBA is loaded with less athletic players than those two that do just fine, including point guards.

I hate to break it to you, but if you think guys like Kidd, Rubio and Andre Miller (and several others) are even remotely in the same discussion athletically with McCalebb and Spanoulis - well, then you are a crack head.

In change of direction with the dribble...yes, he most certainly is. He's quicker with the ball in change of direction than Manu is.

In terms of all around athleticism, the only basketball player of NBA/Euroleague that comes to mind being more athletic RIGHT NOW is LeBron. That's not factoring in guys that maybe used to be more athletic.

I mean some guys lost a lot of their athleticism. Then other guys are OVERRATED in overall athletic ability. Like people go on and on and about Blake Griffin's athletic ability, but it's mostly all just vertical jumping ability.

There is a lot more to it than that from an overall athletic level. Steve Nash is athletic for example, even if he isn't all that fast or great at jumping.

This argument is not valid. When Deandre Jordan takes enough jumpers, he will eventually make some of them. But even if I run a million 50 meters sprints, I will never run really fast.
I'm not trying to argue Spanoulis is better athlete than Rose or Westbrook, but Spanoulis is strong and quick and he used to be pretty fast too when he was younger. Not much of a leaper, but I'd say his athleticism is still above average.

That original quote in question goes back a year and a half. Not forever ago or anything, but still around the time everyone was still trying to figure out if Euroleague actually believed the shit he posted and was batshit insane, or was legit trolling the hell out of everyone. Well, I take that back, it may have even started even sooner when he claimed Spanoulis was either the best or third best player in the world.

Oscar and Magic were both more impressive IMO by virtue of their size and strength at the PG position alone. Oscar 6-4 and 3/4 220lbs and Magic 6-7 and 1/2 220lbs compared to Westbrook only 6-2 and 1/4 and maybe 205lbs? He's athletic but absolute size and strength has got to count for something in terms of 'finest specimen' for a position the NBA has ever seen.
