View Full Version : ISH Claim: Majority Of NBA Players In Top 10 Scorers Of FIBA Proves NBA Is Best

Euroleague

At ISH, after every single FIBA World Cup, Olympics, FIBA EuroBasket, whatever, the claim is made here by NUMEROUS people that it is "proven beyond any doubt" with "total and complete fact" that the NBA is "the best league in the world"............

because "the NBA has the majority of the players in the top 10 scorers of X FIBA tournament, as compared to international basketball".............

This SAME bullshit trolling claim has been used dozens of times here in this forum, and if anyone argues against it, they get called, "nuts, delusional, a troll, a liar, insane, crazy, certifiable, Euro homer", etc.

The argument is always made here that this is "undeniable and irrefutable proof of NBA superiority" that the NBA has the majority of players in the top 10 scorers of X FIBA tournament, as opposed to international leagues.

The argument is also made EVERY TIME this claim is made that, "and this is always the case in every international tournament".

The forum mega trolls gabepizza, Dr.J4ever, Rooster, CavsFTW, nick young, KG215, etc., etc. have made and/or supported such claims here dozens of times.

FIBA EuroBasket 2013 Top 10 scorers list:

1. Tony Parker - 19.0 (NBA)

2. Bojan Bogdanovic - 17.4 (Euroleague)

3. Vassilis Spanoulis - 16.7 (Euroleague)

4. Goran Dragic - 15.8 (NBA)

5. Nenad Krstic - 15.4 - (Euroleague)

6. Alessandro Gentile - 14.2 (Euroleague)

7. Marc Gasol - 13.9 (NBA)

8. Gigi Datome - 13.8 (NBA)

9. Marco Belinelli - 13.6 (NBA)

10. Pooh Jeter - 13.5 (Chinese Basketball Association)

The NBA has 5 in the top 10 and international leagues have 5 also (Euroleague 4 and Chinese Basketball Association 1).

And before some mega troll like gabepizza comes in with the "every player played in the NBA before" or some bullshit like that.............

only 7 of these players have played in the NBA.

Tony Parker
Vassilis Spanoulis
Goran Dragic
Nenad Krstic
Pooh Jeter
Marco Belinelli
Marc Gasol

It's only 8 if we count Gigi Datome, even though he has not yet played in the NBA.

But,

Bojan Bogdanovic
Vassilis Spanoulis
Goran Dragic
Nenad Krstic
Alessandro Gentile
Gigi Datome
Pooh Jeter
Marco Belinelli
Marc Gasol

9 of these players have played in the Euroleague.

So, the NBA has 5 current players out of 10, which is not the "majority", as compared to international basketball, which also has 5.

And the NBA has less players than the Euroleague overall in the top 10 with 7 (8 if you count Datome), compared to the Euroleague with 9.

How many minutes per game did Tony Parker average in the tournament? Because I know the games were 40 minutes instead of 48 like NBA games, but Parker still averaged 19.7 PPG compared to 20.3 PPG in the NBA his year in 33 MPG.

While LeBron is the better player, Durant would be the ideal NBA superstar to see "unleashed" in a FIBA tournament in my opinion. He's tailor made to dominate FIBA ball with his skillset and the shorter 3P line. We've already seen him put up some big scoring numbers in 2010 at 21 years old before he was even in his prime, and in 2012 but with other superstars who also got their fair share of shots and points. I'd love to see Durant put on a team where he's the primary and almost only scorer in one of these tournaments.

Carmelo, too, because he kills it with the shorter 3P line as well.

How can you honestly think that? If Eurobasket is stronger than the Olympics than shouldn't the top teams from Eurobasket win the Olympics. Well that hasn't happened in 25 years.

It my be deeper but it certainly isn't harder to win a medal. Since NBA players have been allowed to play in the Olympics no European team has ever won.

So to claim that Eurobasket is stronger makes you either a troll or not logical.

On which is more important, winning the FIBA EuroBasket, or winning the NBA championship:

"I will not trade it for anything. Pains, bruises, fatigue...I have won the NBA championship, but nothing can be compared to winning a title with your country."

Another bullshit quote?

Oh, this means you made it up yourself. Have to elaborate since your IQ is the same as my shoe size.

Like others have said: I don't know why you're on this forum. You should be permabanned. You contribute absolutely nothing.

Google searched this quote and the quote only shows up in the thread about Tony Parker's "saying" winning in Eurobasket is more rewarding than winning an NBA championship.

Oh yeah, the above quote and thread are DELETED. I wonder why that is...

this thread is so dumb. think about this euroleague idiot. a garbage team full of garbage players that play in euro league and who are playing against garbage teams will score about 80-90 points. now the best garbage player and these garbage teams will average a decent amount of points. therefore these stats dont mean anything.

1. Tony Parker - 19.7 (NBA)

2. Bojan Bogdanovic - 16.9 (Euroleague)

3. Vassilis Spanoulis - 16.7 (Euroleague)

4. Goran Dragic - 15.8 (NBA)

5. Nenad Krstic - 15.4 - (Euroleague)

6. Alessandro Gentile - 14.2 (Euroleague)

7. Gigi Datome - 13.8 (NBA)

8. Marco Belinelli - 13.6 (NBA)

9. Marc Gasol - 13.6 (NBA)

Yet another ISH NBA only fan myth has been officially BUSTED.

Euroleague is a stepping stone for the NBA and most of the good Euroleague players are the ones that choose to play over there instead of the NBA. We get it, what exactly is your agenda, to get everyone here to hate FIBA basketball because you keep shoving it down our throats like it's on the same level as the NBA? It's not, but there is a lot of quality players over there that could easily be quality players in the NBA, i'm sure some of them could even be stars in the right situations. Why not post informative or interesting things about FIBA basketball instead of trolling for arguments. Show us how good FIBA basketball is (and it is great team ball in a lot of cases) instead of making us hate it with all your trolling.
