I legit felt 2nd hand shame watching that vid... Miley has completely lost her mind in place of a rebel attitude, raging hormones and a total lack of guidance and self respect. Disney really knows how to groom and prepare their young stars into adults. :oldlol:

Marketing? Doubt she's doing that for marketing, more like she's lashing out against the system that groomed her. She's making $$ cause people can't look away while she loses her dignity in front of the World. So one of either two things has happened. She's either a cold and calculating genius who has sold out all her dignity for $ (a total sellout). Or, more realistically she's not selling out, she's lashing out because shes a f*cking 20 year old who doesn't know how to handle all the fame and spotlight and temptation she's gotten over her life time. It's a classic celebrity meltdown. She might be dead before she's 30 from drug overdose, I guarantee she will check into some form of rehab within the next 5 years. You know, cause she's winning.

She has a team of people behind all these things. They're following the exact same template Madonna and Britney used.
Slutting it up at the VMAs was completey planned and not some "cry for help". She got 100x more attention than Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Then you didn't watch Jordan that much. And we all know you certainly aren't 29 years old. In both cases if you actually watched him, you'd be able to remember his playing days. Or maybe you just have a shit memory. But odds are you are just young, grew up in the Kobe era, and didn't watch ball pre 2000 if I was a betting man.

to the people sayin its weird for a 29 year old to barely remember bulls jordan
my timeline vs jordans career
born 1984
age 0........ jordans rookie year ( i'm legally blind and unaware of existance )
age 1........ jordans 2nd year ( i'm amused by colours and funny faces )
age 2........ jordans 3rd year ( i'm able to eat solid foods and mumble )
age 3........ jordans 4th year ( i have a toy blanket )
age 4........ jordans 5th year ( i can finger paint )
age 5........ jordans 6th year ( i'm in kindergarten.. watch sesame street )
age 6........ jordans 7th year ( i'm in grade 1. know the alphabet and 2+2 )
age 7........ jordans 8th year ( love ghost busters )
age 8........ jordans 9th year ( kissed a girl and didnt throw up )
age 9........ jordan retires ( become aware of sports. but with no real legend to get behind. turn to baseball for ken griffey jr. who is baseballs version of MJ at the time )
age 10...... jordan returns for 10th year ( love baseball. play it all the time. 1994 was the year griffey could have broken the homerun record if they didnt go on strike. nintendo griffey games are a hit.. gaining popularity. even jordan asks him for his autograph )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk2KnkDbI0c
age 11...... jordans 11th year ( could still care less since i have no idea about the history of basketball )
age 12...... jordans 12th year ( started playing basketball. watched a bit of it. not a hardcore fan yet )
age 13...... jordans 13th year ( become hardcore fan of kobe bryant at the 1998 allstar game )
age 14...... jordans career is over....... saw a few finals games in the past. 1 allstar game... thats it
for the most part of jordans career i was probably more into power rangers, ghost busters or heman... with a bed time of 9pm
i probably wasnt even able to stay up late enough to see allot of games. that and in canada there was very few broadcasts.
idiots and youngins forget that jordans entire career went on before the internet. people didnt start watching crappy pixolated video clips online until the year 1999
so its not out of this world for a 29 year old canadian to not give a f*ck about michael jordan. its just that most people who grew up jordan fans are now 40-50 years old.
2 entire generations have passed since jordans best days.
even lebrons been in the league for 10 years. he could very well choose to retire in 3-5 years. we're on the verge of the 3rd generation. guys like kyrie erving are the new face of this league coming up.

09-24-2013, 05:49 PM
When she first came out twerkin and acting like a filthy slut in her video's I was very disappointed and disgusted. Mainly because she has or had a younger fan base because of the whole Hannah Montana thing and that's who I was seeing.....that 13 year old child or however old she was. But she's grown now, I still don't think it's very responsible of her as somewhat of a role model, but the more video's I watch of her spreading her legs and bending over, the more she's starting to appeal to my "being a horny guy" senses.
After watching the video OP just posted.....this was the first time she kinda turned me on. Not because she has a great body.....cuz she doesn't. It was the way she was looking at the camera with those "I want to **** you eyes"
That's all

it appeals to teeny boppers these days. Sad that kids will be looking up to this rubbish for how to act and thinking it's actually music.
It's only going to get worse and worse as each new teen star tries to out do the other, in 10 years time we'll be seeing film clips of girls getting gang banged by 10 random dudes in their film clips while lip syncing to auto tuned backing tracks.

There's plenty of people your age that watched the Bulls growing up. LeBron watched the Bulls growing up, that's why he wore no.23 in high school and for the Cavs and last I checked he's not 40/50 years old.

no.. its because he retired and took 2 years off when i was 9 and 10 years old... then retired for good when i was 14
90% of his career coming at an age when i had a 10 minute attention span and played with ghostbuster/power ranger action figures or watched cartoons
there was limited access to games ( only national tv broadcasts that were carried in canada )
no internet until 1999

She doesn't claim to be a Jordan fan though. She was 6 when he retired from the Bulls lol. The song is about shoes.
And Kenneth, why do you hate Jordan so much when you never saw him play? That makes no sense at all. I'm younger than you too. 26 years old and I got to witness Jordan's last 3 Finals runs in Chicago. You just started watching ball later than most.
Around 2 years ago, when he had another ken griffin account that got banned, he said that he had been watching for like 8 years. So he started watching around 2003 - 2004.
oh the horror

You know what it is about Miley? Her act is almost cartoony to me. It's blatantly obvious to me that I'm watching someone that is being told what to do an what video and or songs to make.
Now I know most "artists" operate this way but she is awkward with the gimmick they're trying to sell her as. There's plenty of people your age that watched the Bulls growing up. LeBron watched the Bulls growing up, that's why he wore no.23 in high school and for the Cavs and last I checked he's not 40/50 years old.

a) theres not plenty of 29 year old canadians who saw much of jordan growing up though due to cable restrictions and no internet
B) lebron didnt grow up a jordan fan. it clearly stated on his highschool profile he was a kobe/lakers fan. he wore #23 out of respect for the greatest ever.
C) kobe was a magic/lakers fan growing up
D) kobe only wore that jordan gear as one of his nba finals "greatest of each sport throw back jerseys" pre game rituals. he also came a game before that in a gretzky jersey. he wore 4 different ones i believe since it went 4 games vs the nets. i think they were ( jerry rice, jacky robinson, jordan, gretzy ) but i cant remember for sure if jerry rice was the 4th

If you don't know who Kobe patterned his entire game after you're blinder than Stevie Wonder.
And lol at the "Canadians didn't get to see Jordan play", I watched all the NBA Finals from 1991 onwards on NBC just fine. Unless you were a social retard you knew what Air Jordans were growing up in the 90s anywhere. Just because you apparently grew up in the sticks (didn't get internet until 1999? jeeeezus) doesn't mean you speak for everyone.

Obviously you grew up on some kind on Mennonite compound or something, lol.
Any basic cable package in Canada in the 90s came with ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN mirrored from the US.
Global wasn't even around in the early 90s it was something else. CTV picked up the rights to broadcast the NBA from the mid-90s onwards when the Raptors/Grizzlies joined the league so they would carry the NBC feed for the Finals, but you could watch it on NBC too, just like you could watch (gasp!) Seinfeld and Friends too the same way (believe it or not I didn't have to wait until 2005 to watch those).
You could get TBS/TNT too which carried NBA games in the 90s. It was easy enough to see the Bulls several times a week if you really wanted to, not to mention NBA Inside Stuff on NBC, The Week In the NBA on CNN, etc.
Being 13 before getting interested sport is freaking late as hell, you are the odd story, not the other way around.
Pretty much any kid in Canada growing up in the 90s knew who Michael Jordan was unless he lived in freaking cave, wearing Bulls/Raiders/Hornets gear in the 90s was "cool" in Canada. And yes, we even knew who (gasp!) Shaquille O' Neal was.
I know some people think Jordan's an asshole but is there anyone that would blame him for suing the shit out of these people?

A) ABC, CBS and CNN didnt broadcast nba games during the 90's.. only global, nbc and tsn did
like i just said
B) ctv did broadcast some games before global took over
but like i said originally. only around 15-20 games were on during the season... 1 bulls game at most per week.
C) hell no you couldnt get tnt... tbs supersation yes... but not the tnt nba station
D) 12* was when i started watching/playing basketball
i said i was a griffey fan way before that...
again....like i said on page 2
E) i also knew who michael jordan was. but didnt care for the guy cause he wasnt around during most of the prime years of my childhood because he kept quitting on his fans
skipping 94,95,99,00,01
sure every kid was a jordan/bulls fan back in the 90's... even i probably thought he was great at one point but i wasnt a real fan..
because only 15 games were on the canadian national cable per year.
that and i had better things to do with my childhood. i wasnt cooped up inside like most internet zombies are these days
i was out having fun playing with my friends pre facebook/social media generation
face it.. most people are fake fans.. and pretend to know everything and be there since day one when they see a handful of games every year
even your regular joe fan that watches allot of sports wont watch every game. only us hardcore message board type fans will mark down every game on the calender or schedule around it like us or a jack nicholson type
my point is.. you yourself are in complete denial and delusional idiocy if you want people to believe you grew up watching every game at age 8,9,10
gtfo chump

and btw i grew up in ottawa.. the nations capital. i had the best options available. and they werent great. because canada sucked at the time for outside media influence without having satellite tv

Can you drop this stupid argument already? How many Seattle Mariner games did you get in Ontraio? I'm willing to bet less than even 1 a week total and little playoff coverage on top of that (whereas the Bulls were shown in Canada for pretty much all their playoff runs). Yet somehow you were a Ken Griffey Jr. fan, lol, which I'm not debating, good for you if you were a fan.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are shown in Canada maybe once or twice a week at most unless you have the Center Ice package that most kids don't get. CBC shows mostly Canadian teams every Saturday and TSN tends to stick with Canadian franchises too.
Are you going to seriously suggest that there aren't kids in Canada aren't monster Sidney Crosby fans? He's the most popular athlete in Canada today by about a country mile.
There was plenty of NBA coverage in the 90s here. I would watch NBA highlights every night on TSN, there This Week In the NBA on CNN, and NBA Inside Stuff that I'd watch every Saturday. The internet makes highlights more convenient, but it's not they were unavailable before the advent of the internet, lol.
Sales of NBA gear were huge in the 90s in Canada too, a Chicago Bulls hat/jacket/shirts were everywhere here, and by the mid-90s so were a ton of Shaq/Penny/Grant Hill/Barkley jerseys too. A third of my class had the Barkley Air Max shoes circa 94 or whatever that was.
The biggest driver for Jordan's popularity were actually probably those Come Fly With Me/Playground/etc. video tapes.
I even kept tabs on some NCAA basketball in the 90s too, I watched Chris Webber and the Fab Five play. Sure maybe you didn't get every single freaking game, but that's a dumb argument overall.

He's mad that Miley, a 20 year old, has just as much MJ knowledge as him, seeing as he didn't start watching ball until around 2004. And even though he's never seen MJ play, he's made thread after thread about how overrated MJ is and he tried to pass off Kobe as just as good as MJ in the past.
If you saw Jordan play like I did Kenneth, you would understand just how much better Jordan was than Kobe in almost every facet of the game. Kobe's my favourite player all time but it's not even close between MJ and Kobe or MJ and Lebron which is the new argument you're trying to make now that you've given up on Kobe like the fairweather fan you are, even saying that you might stop watching ball altogether.
And yeah, watching the late 90's Bulls about once a week plus most of the Playoffs is still plenty enough to have seen how great late 90's MJ really was. Basketball is the only sport I've ever cared for. I was obsessed with MJ, Kukoc, and Rodman as a ten year old kid and tried to watch as many Bulls games as I could.
So it sounds like Kenneth needs to watch the "Legend of Greatest" video then?

You. Are. A. Moron. Seriously.

First of all at least post facts, the Bulls had more than 8 playoff games alone shown per year even in 1991.
Half my school class in 1991 had some type of Bulls gear, even girls wore it, because it was the fashionable thing to wear at the time. That and Air Jordan's were basically the sneaker that everyone wanted.
But I mainly got into following the NBA in the early 90s because my older cousin was a big fan. We'd watch NBA Inside Stuff on weekends and that basically was NBA propaganda but it worked. Jordan also had that cartoon series called Pro Stars with Gretzky/Bo Jackson. The '91 Finals for the NBA was huge globally because even casual/young fans could understand "Michael Vs. Magic". And MJ delivered on the biggest stage with that hand switch move that was shown like a billion times on TV right away.
And I never said I was the *exact* same age as you doofus. Read next time.
Hockey became bullsh*t in Canada during the 90s because a lot of the Canadian teams had to gift away their best players to US markets because they couldn't afford them, so I started to watch a lot more basketball. Couldn't stand baseball, too damn boring.
Couldn't be happier they went on strike, it brought MJ back and three more titles. GOAT. Haha, so thanks for that baseball.
Basketball in the 90s even in Canada had become the "cooler" alternative to hockey for a lot of kids, the NBA already had decided to expand here by 1993/94 or so. The 1992 Dream Team was a big deal too for growing the game globally.
And to steer the thread back to actual freaking topic, the song is now in iTunes top 10 for purchases

Aw shucks, Kenneth looks like you got me. For my American friends, you see in Canada we all lived in igloos with three TV channels (which all play hockey or wolf racing) and weren't aware of Michael Jordan's existence until 1997 at the earliest and it was impossible for a 9/10-year-old to be a fan of Michael Jordan.
The first time I actually ever saw someone dribble a basketball was Steve Nash and it was only then that I realized sports that weren't played on ice actually existed.
Except Kenneth Griffin who was the one Canadian who actually knew about Ken Griffey Jr., then on one magical day in 1998 he watched Kobe Bryant at an All-Star game on an exotic network called NBC and began to teach everyone in Canada what basketball was all about.
You're right Kenneth, obviously there's no possible way I could have been a fan of Michael Jordan in the 90s. It's simply not possible.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go line up for the new Nintendo 64 game system which is launching tomorrow in Canada at our one national electronics store chain -- Tim Horton's (which also serves donughts). I sure hope it's better than the Sega Saturn.

Now, now Kenneth, don't make fun of people in Western Canada. We just got electricity last year.
Also did you know there's actually a "Summer" Olympics now too and not just the normal Winter Olympics? Unbelievable, I told my friends at hockey school but they didn't believe me.
Some day I hope to get my visitor visa so I can cross the Ice Wall of Canada and visit the great city of Spokane, America and see a basketball court in person.

After Western Canada reclaims the daughter of Wayne Gretzky, those pesky but still grudgingly polite Eastern Canadians will have no choice but to kneel before our glorious Ice Queen.

We'll drink Molson Canadian beer and maple syrup for 12 consecutive nights to celebrate in my tiny fishing village of Vancouver. It's only a five night sled ride from Seattle. You Americans are totally welcome to be guests of honor. :lol
