Yahoo Sports reports that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is set to leave Nike for basketball athletic apparel underdog Under Armour. Under Armour has quietly built up quite a stable with Brandon Jennings, DeAndre Jordan, Raymond Felton, and Kemba Walker. Curry's a huge step up and their first All-Star caliber player for the brand.

Nike remains the predominant brand, but the company has also seen a fair number of players depart for other companies, most notaly departures for Chinese shoe companies. Losing Curry comes as a mild surprise given his rising star status.

he really should have gone with ektio's. i have chronic weak ankles, and switching to those have made a world of difference. its too bad, cause their name will never get out there. i heard rick barry was practically begging steph to join the team.

DeAndre Jordan left UnderArmor for Nike. so whatever you think Nike is losing in market share, theyre not. and I read somewhere Jordan Brand has the highest market share in the basketball shoes market.

Under Armour has been on the rise. Whatever Brady touches turns to gold.

He'll be a star with UA. For Nike, he's just another athlete.

Trust me, Nike's losing a lot in terms of marketability if they're trading Stephen Curry for freakin DeAndre Jordan.

Biggest L Nike's ever taken?

You know it.

And to make themselves look even worse, they went into full panic mode and signed Lebron to a lifetime deal. :lol

Lebron...hardly on anyone's radar
Curry... on everyone's radar

Under Armor taking the win on this one.

Huge L for Nike. But lets not act like they arent going to be the dominant leaders in the market for the foreseeable future

Nike will always be on top. Just too big and too in demand.

Under Armour is a fantastic deal for Steph because his contract includes equity shares in the company.

With Curry and Spieth on top of their respective sports they've helped UA carve themself up a nice piece of the market share these past few years.

Will never reach Nike status, but between youth sports, preps, and professional athletes they've done well with sales coming into the game his late.
