and to the lack of a fossil “missing link”

This right here is the most telling. People want to believe in evolution so much that they tend to look past finding dinosaur bones everywhere, but not finding such that showcase a pattern of "evolution" for humans.

Interesting. ...
the sad thing about that nutjob article is that, yes... life on earth seeded by asteroid (etc) impacts is a theory with much currency in science debate.

Holy christ that was retarded. Daily sunlight will kill us? You might as well just lie down on the freeway and wait for a bus to hit you?

Aliens!

You're a hypocrite and you don't even know it.

Do you deny that there could be the possibility of other life forms on other planets? If you do, then why is the "Aliens" theory thrown out the window in your opinion? By your logic of believing in the possibility of extra-terrestrial life, then you would have to lend credence to there being a possibility to this theory.

what i find slightly more amusing is the way you identified a single-key word and took that as a great opportunity to whip out your percussion instrument and beat on it.

aliens!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with him having a theory. If he doesn't have enough evidence to prove it then the scientific community will ignore it. Putting him down is pointless. Science can make progress by exploring outlandish ideas and testing them.

I believe that there is definitely intelligent life somewhere else in the universe.

However, I don't believe anything in the universe can travel at the speed of light or faster.

I do think that our understanding of the history of our own planet is incredibly flawed.

If he doesn't have enough evidence he doesn't have a theory to begin with. At best I would call his ideas speculation.

“No other truly native species on this planet has this problem,” he says. Silver also points out to the “extra” 223 genes in human beings, which are not found in any other species, and to the lack of a fossil “missing link”.

Every species has genes not found in other species, that is why each species is unique... And we have so many missing links now that anyone who claims different is just being willfully ignorant.

The evolution is more that proven by now, You have to be a world class moron to deny it. So because there is no bones form a particular time period, evolution isn't real? lol

You need to watch fox news a little more is doing wonders to your brain.

I find it laughable that people are quick to dismiss this hypothesis as bullshit, but they believe in a holy man in the sky who watches over every human being who's ever existed, judges what they do in life & then either rewards them with eternal happiness in a cloudy realm or banishes them to eternal sorrow in the depths of some dark, desolate and fiery region of another completely unknown realm. And they believe all that because a 2,000+ year old book says to.

With that said, I don't think this hypothesis on the origins of man is accurate, but the keyword is "think." I don't THINK it's true. I can't disprove it either, just like I can't disprove there isn't an afterlife with one of two options we are all subjected to.
All I know is that I just find it utterly impossible for there to have been a species that could travel the speed of light (or greater), be lucky enough to find the planet Earth among the potentially billions of other planets revolving are potentially billions of other stars, and then either settle down here without ever revealing to their offspring about their own origins or leave us here and not return to find out our progress.

LOL.

Even if you don't believe in evolution that doesn't make any sense at all. We've found primitive tool use and language use in early humans. And it progressed naturally and over time into what we have today (and we've found traces of it every step of the way).

If the older humans were aliens and had spaceships, why the f were they so primitive in terms of tools and language and every thing?

this statement shows complete and utter ignorance of the fossil record. How can you feel comfortable with making such statements when you clearly have never even examined the evidence. http://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/human-fossils

As for dinosaurs, they were on the earth for 165 million years, while the age of mammals has only been 65 million. Regardless, there is tons of fossil evidence of primate evolution as well as hominin evolution. The missing link shit is a complete and utter lie.

This theory is way out there, but it's still more believable than a guy claiming to be the "son of God"... die for 3 days, and then get resurrected.

Animals build stuff all the time and a few of them are self conscious and can plan ahead. We aren't that great after all. Our houses are bigger than the stuff ants build, and yeah we can think about our own death. But other than that, don't know...mankind is overrated to me.
