Mayo was the top ranked HS player back in 06. One day dude came talking trash at Jordan's camp. In the next game, Jordan would go on to destroy OJ Mayo, his entire confidence and any chance he had at becoming a great player.

To this day, Mayo has still not recovered.

Just like how he ruined Kwame's soft ass. Kobe murked OJ's punk ass at his camp in 2007 that same summer. I will find the video of it. MJ busted his ass for talking shit, GOAT gonna GOAT. Kobe busted his ass at his camp, Apprentice gonna Apprentice.

Nobody talked about this crap in 2006. Now a video mysteriously goes viral of Jordan schooling Mayo, and all of a sudden, everybody on these message boards are acting like they were all there when the shit went down. :oldlol:

Read the title. Can you say MJ turned OJ into a bust before he got into the NBA? :facepalm

oj mayo wasnt a bust because of mj

he averaged 18ppg his rookie year

17ppg his 2nd year

his confidence was high

he lost it his 3rd and 4th season. but is climbing back up to where he once was.. shooting a good percentage again and above 15ppg with only 12 shots a game.

and hes averaging 4.4 apg as a shooting guard. which is very high considering his lack of touches

I hope he would be destroying a kid. You have to remember MJ is one of the greatest players of all time and OJ was only a kid..

:facepalm

I am not a NBA legend and younger than MJ in that video, I can say honestly that I would whoop up on a 16 or 17 year old kid.

OJ Mayo has only himself to blame for where he finds himself as a player. The truly greats take responsibility for what happens to them... a Jordan type would have only been made stronger by this embarrassment. He would've worked even harder than before and come back to the court 10 times better.

Did the same to poor Kwame. Jordan just completely destroyed him mentally. :oldlol:

Wait a minute...So OJ Mayo was just out of the 10th grade. What was he, barely 16, 17 at the time?

I've seen several teenagers get "schooled" by 40+ year olds at the gym.

I was wondering the same thing? I recall the big game in HS between OJ and Derrick Rose and figured OJ had to have been 16 or 17 tops at this time. Which is ok to be crazy age.

Michael Jordan? No...that's Johnny Kilroy. They look a lot alike.

I heard this story. Shame on MJ for taking a 16 year old kid seriously and then going on about how he had to teach this kid a lesson. Did it make him look any better? MJ has a serious ego problem if he let a 16 year old get to his head.

Also this video has no footage of what OJ did to Jordan. A little one-sided

I think you missed the point of how remarkable it is to see an old man like that destroy young talent with pure skill. In that video, he showed that he can still drive at will and score. I have no doubt he could still play in today's NBA and average 10+ points a game.

Some of you guys are some of the biggest haters. Like, you're going to point out that his competition is 16 and 17 years old? Like its a bad thing against a guy who's in his mid 40's? :lol

He lacks the talent to do that. Guy has always been an overachiever. Called his outcome back when he was in back in hs.
