I didnt know Ike Diogu was on the team. Josh Powell looks like a rotational player. His confidence, hustle and athletic ability looks like a plus.

Pablo on the ball defense looked surprisingly good.

I dont mind the 2 PG look. It doesnt look totally necessary but there could be moments in the game that it could be useful.

Leslie doesnt quite look ready but its the first game.

Will this team be afraid to play inside out this season? To many times during the game the ball could have went down in the paint.

Chris Smith is just a waste they should have brought Murray in.

We really need Amare!!

Amare/Bargnani would be a constant scoring threat. Throw Melo in the mix and it's gets horrifying for defenses

We can already see that Bargnani is much more than many of you read he was- and the Carmelo/Bargnani pairing is a thing of beauty.

Now it's just the what do you do with Felton and chandler needing to be primary options on offense. Should you build a team around your worst 2 offensive players in the rotation?

If he were to somehow make the team, he might be the single worst player in the NBA :oldlol: This dude is absolute trash. I didn't even watch the whole game but he absolutely stunk it up. I thought Hardaway looked good. His jumpshot wasn't even touching the rim when it was going in. Shump looked good although his handle still looks suspect. I can't imagine how it can be justified that Prigioni is a better option than either of them AND JR Smith. :confusedshrug: I just don't get it. The pre-season and regular season aren't the post season. There's not one starting 2 guard in the league, on a playoff team, that isn't better than Prigioni. Any coach that can't see that needs to go.

ironically when Pablo starts the team wins, it isnt like he's James White out there.

Winning is all that matters....he helps get that done.

But he wouldnt be my starter either, if anything he's holding the spot down for JR.

i dont believe this competition nonsense.

JR made a pact with Woody..." If JR wins 6th man, you can start next year".

we'll see if true.

Jr should start. Ridiculous not to try jr off ball a little more

It all comes down to the coach when it comes to playing the right players at the right times.

Holy shit, this team is some caca without the starters.

Ike Diogu cannot be the highlight player of the night.

I would think for the guys trying to make the team they would at least play with some class.

It would be nice to see this team play inside out or have someone go to the rim. Its just jumpshot brick jumpshot brick.

Thats how Woody's offense works, the open shot created will always be the jumper because Woody lacks an offensive playbook.

Now he has Tyson shooting jumpers, and while I'm not opposed to this it takes him away from the rim which is a gift and a curse.

The only two players who can play inside are Melo and Bargnani, and Woody seems early adamant to keep Bargnani on the outside and is letting Melo free lance.

What is more baffling is how the team isn't playing a lick of defense.

Thats odd as hell since that was Woody's staple.

They've been trying to hammer this "Tyson's working on his jumpshot" agenda all summer long. Every time they post a pic on Facebook it's of this bum "working on his outside game." Dude can't even make layups consistently. I'm not buying it. I think it may lead to some early losses...and to no fault of his own. We're going to try and start force feeding him the ball to show what he's been working on. We did the same thing with Amare. When you've been in the league over a decade, it's too late to reinvent the wheel. Just formulate your offense around everyone's strengths.

IDK fam, since Chandler is a decent ft shooter he should be able to make short jumpers, and he certainly wont be taking so many shots the team would actually lose because of them.

Point being, guys can enhance their game at his age.

The losses will be strictly on no defense which these guys early on has zero interest in and bricking jumpers.

Woody should be focusing on getting easy shots, not just wide open ones.

This "jumper, jumper, three rinse and repeat offense" is not gonna cut it.

Agreed but Ike looked good. He's a decent rotation big.

I agree about Woody and the offense. It's very freelance. Pretty much like he's letting the guys who can score do so and patting himself on the back when they succeed. Let everyone call them selfish and escape blame when they don't.

As for Chandler, I'm just not buying it. Theoretically, it seems like it could work. However, when a guy has been in the league since he was a teenager and hasn't really worked on his offensive game one bit, I'm not buying that he all of a sudden has this hidden talent waiting to be extracted. I think we should just focus on him catching the ball and making shots in the paint. "Ya gotta crawl before you walk."
