I was actually going to say that. I'm not sure how "dumb" either one of them is.
They're both extremely heavy on word play and situational almost skit style comedy. Often joking on jokes. I find that genre to be quite clever. Although it did sort of birth a world of "Not Another" type movies that aren't nearly as clever or funny or smart.

There is nothing dumb about this film. It is actually a very well written parody.

A dumb comedy is something like How High which has no point.
