And of course there are still stupid people on ISH that still post every day "ESPN said this, ESPN said that".

ESPN must have had some meeting and said "let's drive fans crazy with titles and no substance, no matter how stupid we sound".

ESPN has been downright atrocious the last week but they got what they wanted, the reaction.

I definitely prefer Rose's humbleness, loyalty, internal, and competitive make up. LeBron's the better talent, quite obviously, but he's a mental midget or coward internally by comparison. LeBron is an un-likable person.

If Derrick Rose wins his second MVP and leads the Bulls to a championship this season, I think most people will agree that he's better. He didn't have to change teams and team up with other all-star players to win a championship.

I don't care if people say "but LeBron has 2 championships". Rose's 1 championship with this Bulls team would be > LeBron's two championships with the Miami cHeat.

Since when? What's on trial here? MJ wasn't polarizing like LeBron or Kobe. Because he was competitive he was a massive asshole? MJ never did anything on the public stage to be considered an asshole. What does that have to do with anything? Point is MJ had character. LeBron IMO seems very un-likable.

Lebron is likeable in whatever city he plays for. Good dude, does extremely well for the community. Also, he's matured so much since the decision and that whole year.

He's obviously not likeable to people from other cities because, well, he shits on them all the time.

As a Laker fan you knew one thing about Jordan besides his talent which made him OK.

You knew Jordan respected the game. Magic Bird and other greats you knew they respected the game for what it was. Honestly I've never got that from Lebron on the same level.

Rose haven't seen him really enough to comment on but you get the feeling he loves the game for what it is.

How is Lebron a mental midget, when put up against each other, Lebron led the Heat in a furious come back against the Bulls hitting clutch shot after clutch shot, while Rose on the other hand bricked shots and turned it over.
I'd say Lebron is the mentally tough one. Particularly with the fact he deals with the media scrutiny to a point Rose will never see in his career.
Wouldn't you say Rose is the mental midget with the way he crumbles under pressure?

Humbleness? In what regard? Because hes quiet? He said he was the best player in the league, when its not close to true.

How did he cheat Pippen out of money? LOL wtf ...

He punched Kerr then said he was out of line and respected him for standing up to him. Eventually passing it to him for an NBA Finals game winner.

He was an asshole to a one hit clown ass wonder like Chamillionaire. He was very grateful to regular ordinary fans, all the time. I've heard many personal stories within Chicagoland. He was an asshole of a competitor, as he should be, off the court he was graceful and appreciative.

The funny part is Rose is the most mentally weak superstar in NBA history. The guy sat on the bench like a little b.itch in the playoffs. Rose is a great player, the greatest Bull since Jordan, and that's exactly the problem... because of it, Bulls fans want to see Jordan in him. They project every one of his qualities onto him... It's incredibly obvious too. Understandable (who wouldn't want to see it happen again? That's why they were all looking for the 'next Jordan') but the hard reality is: he's not the guy you're looking for. Which is a shame because if you see him for who he actually is, he's pretty great.

The "Jordan is an asshole" narrative is really getting out of hand.
Agreed. And it all stems from a few places:

Chamillionaire's story about MJ being drunk in a club and him not wanting to take a pic with him. On a personal level, I wouldn't either if I was sober or waisted.

Punching Steve Kerr for physically challenging him in practice. MJ later apologized to him, and was basically testing Steve's mettle, which from there forward he always had his respect.

MJ's HOF speech, a glimpse inside of his competitive psyche? Using perceived slights to gain a competitive advantage? That's why he was always pushing himself and always getting better. Always trying to reach for the impossible, never afraid of failure. Always hell bent on proving doubters wrong.

Like he said, limits ... like fear, are often just an illusion. This creed is why he succeeded. He was ruthless on the court, yes. How does that make him an asshole in life? He's an asshole because he damned respect and performance out of his soldiers, as the team leader? God people are so soft now. Mentally weak and fragile. I'd love to play for Jordan.

I guess being the mentally toughest person the game has ever seen makes one an asshole?

He raised good kids, and everyone I've ever known in Chicago has had nothing but great things to say when meeting him.

Conversely, Scottie Pippen the "likable teammate" or good cop to Jordan's authoritative and demanding "bad cop" has by far the most rep around Chicago for being a total douche and asshole. Not signing autographs for kids, never tipping. I could give you plenty of stories. He didn't get the name "No Tippin Pippen" for a reason around here.

Scottie went broke btw for ridiculously stupid investments, and due to his insecurity always signing quickly dated and stupid contracts with the Bulls in his tenure here. He's dumb and a prick.

The "Jordan Rules" stuff was done by a beat reporter who for a time disliked Jordan, and at the height of his popularity in the early 90s wanted to make a best selling book that would attempt to shoot down the popular narrative of who Michael was, and become a best selling book in the process.

Sam Smith's source? A fellow teammate who resented Mike's success, Horace Grant. All those comments in there weren't necessarily delivered in a mean way. They often were spiteful jokes, but born out of a place for trying to prod teammates to improve.

Like the hilarious Stacey King "is there a jumper in that box" joke. It's tongue in cheek, but meant to light a fire under people. Of course soft people wouldn't understand this.

Nobody respect this guy who takes the easy way out :confusedshrug:

The funny part is Rose is the most mentally weak superstar in NBA history. The guy sat on the bench like a little b.itch in the playoffs. S.hit his pants when LeBron guarded him in 2011, and had hand in the biggest choke in NCAA history. Not to mention his penchant for missing foul shots in the clutch. I would rather have Shaq at the line than this clown in the 4th quarter.

While I agree Lebron is better, Lebron has a pretty good case at being more mentally weak than Rose.

Rose menatlly weak for sitting out a year after serious injury? That is the best you got Silk? :oldlol:

Look at Rose now, and you think he's mentally weak for sitting out. Clueless clown :oldlol:

He did choke against the Heat. 2 points in back-to-back 4th quarters. A total of 20 points (6 in game 1) in 5 4th quarters and one OT on less than 30% shooting.

Worse than Lebron as Lebron had more points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks than Rose in the series against the Mav's.

Have you guys moved past 2011?

Do you think the bulls now are near as disorganised as that version?

Difference is, Rose had a bad series against the Heat in a conference finals, Lebron had a meltdown as a 'favourite' in an NBA finals. I don't know about you, but that is higher on a 'mentally weak' scale if there was such a thing.

Lebron has made decisions that reflect a mentally weak person. The worse thing Rose did was sit out a season to get better

Let's not pretend that the entire Heat team channeled in on Rose in that 2011 series and Rose was inexperienced. NTM Lebron layed an egg in his prime which is far worse :oldlol:

Stop trolling.

You and I know why he sat out and it wasn't because he was scared. He needs to be in game shape to play at playoff level. Surely your not stupid like Silk and overlook such a thing :coleman:

Have a look at that decision now? He is back and he is playing better than before...Had he come back underdone and did his knee again, all you fa**ot heat fans would be flaming him for being stupid

So, when Rose does something to help his career, it's a wise decision and what not, but when Lebron decides to do something to help his career, he's cowardly and mentally weak? Seems fair.

Anyway, related to the topic, anyone who would take Rose over Lebron is a moron or a Bulls fan, and those two are not mutually exclusive.

You didn't go there :oldlol:

I hope you don't see those two things as the same, I really hope not. You have the ability to be objective, but then you regress into Silk mode which is quite disturbing :(
