How many FMVPs did Shaq win without Kobe?

http://www.mediaanddestiny.org/storage/zero.gif?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1321742009756

Looks like Kobe made it pretty easy for Shaq to collect those.

Now Kobe on the other hand, won 2 minus Shaq.

I think you are missing the point of what Shaq was hinting at. He was saying because he is so clearly the Alpha of the relationship. It was easy to play with Kobe being his robin. The roles were so clearly defined.

Who would NOT want to play with this man? Dudes with ego's....

Kobe is all-in all the time... would love to go to war with kobe, westbrook, durant, pierce, garnett.. you know they won't ever budge. I can't even picture being on a team with LeBron when he starts to get nervous... imagine what D-Wade must have been thinking in 2011.. shit is eery..

Inb4 idiots interpret this as Kobe being better than LeBron. Not about that at all.

Exactly. This was a shot at both Kobe and Dwight.

He was sayin "Dwight had a chance to play with Kobe as his #2, just likeI did and look what I did with that, I won three titles, easy. Dwight just couldnt handle it."

Shaq hated playing with Kobe. Aside from '97 - 2000, there was always an ego clash going on there.

The easiest Shaq ever played with was Wade and LeBron. None of those guys ever butted heads with Shaq, or relentlessly took away touches to stroke their own ego at the expense of smart basketball.

You don't see what's going on here? Shaq hates Dwight ever more than he hates Kobe. And what's going on here is just a mere attempt at taking another opportunity to rip into Dwight. Propping Kobe up is not the motive. Read between the lines knowing Shaq's personality. He's obsessed with hating on Dwight.

So insecure, so salty.

Yea maybe but he could've said one of the best to play with. putting him over lebron and durant is pure respect. and Shaq has always respected Kobe.

Shaq hated playing with Kobe.

Yeah I'm sure he hated playing with a top 5 player while 3peating. I'm sure he hates finally having a reliable scorer to shoulder the load offensively towards the end of games to prevent teams from putting Shaq on the line.

Shaq literally just said "it gets no easier than playing with Kobe"

Yet somehow you know Shaq better than he knows himself since you believe something different from what he's saying?

Don't know if you've noticed, but ever since the beginning of 09, Shaqs been all over Kobes nuts, and gives him his due props more than he used to. Probably because he knows how big of an idiot he looked like after "asking Koe how his ass taste" which Kobe proceeded to answer by wining b2b rings while Shaq was tasting near retirement. Kobe humbled the big man after that

lol @ all these **** interpreting Shaqs own words to what they want to believe. It hurts them that much that Kobe gets praised by legendary players. Most of the haters have stayed away knowing they would look stupid even trying to refute Shaqs own words. The very few **********s who don't even take Shaqs word from his own mouth, try to rearrange it to fit their agenda.

It was cemented, in that, at that time there was no possibility of Kobe ever being considered better than Jordan.

It's definitely a dig at both of them, but I don't think Shaq is insecure as much as he's just annoyed that people attempted to compare him to Dwight. Shaq would man-handle Dwight, and he just thinks everybody else should know that too, lol. That said, I think the Kobe/Shaq beef has died down in the past few years, so it could even be a compliment to Kobe (but I doubt it, lol).

No. The 3-peat Lakers relied HEAVILY on their two best players and it was far more a two headed monster in L.A. than just Shaq and his little Robin aka Kobe Bryant like you Kobe detractors like to believe. Especially in 2001/2002 Kobe & Shaq were Co-MVP level. Much like Magic & Kareem.

They won 3 straight championships, which is a rare feat. Who was the 3rd best player on those team? Glen Rice and Derek Fisher? Those team were not very talented outside of Shaq and Kobe, they had below average role players starting at each position outside of their center and shooting guard, and they had a weak bench. Yet they weren't just a championship caliber team, but they were a DYNASTY. In fact, out of all the dynasties in NBA history those Lakers were CLEARLY the least talented. That's why Shaq and Kobe BOTH deserve huge amounts of credit for those 3 championships.

 what a joke. we are talking about lebron's peak, and bryant was better that particular season? bryant wasn't even the second best player that year. comparing lebron to bryant that year would be like comparing bryant to brandon roy

LeBron's true peak was the lockout season... LeBron wasn't as skilled (relied mostly on athleticism and a lot of FTs) or as mentally tough in 2009 as he was in 2012. Kobe WAS the best player in the league then, and was from 05-06 until 09-10 (LeBron was close in 08-09 and 09-10 but Kobe coming through when it mattered most and being more skilled clinched it). LeBron wasn't the best until 11-12, and it's a tossup this year between him and Durant, and whoever wins it all will get the nod.
