If I could switch with anyone on the planet, I'd probably switch with Gilbert Arenas. This dude is getting paid 22 million this year by doing nothing.

Yeah Arenas, keep showing off your money. What truly hurts you is that you're a has-been and no money in the world will make that go away.

I'm not a fan either but there's no need to hate him.And while we can be sure he wanted to make more of his careerhis hoop dreams went farther than 99.999% of the people seriously trying to make it in the NBA.

Yeah, let th CEO of JP Morgan or GE do stuff like this your ****ing period would be bleeding all over your vag1na. Youd be screaming about the ungrateful 1% and how they have responsibility to give their money to others and all your f@ggot shit.
Dilbert is a pathetic attention wh0re with the mental maturity of an 11 year old. I dont care if hes showin off his money. If Joel Anthony did somethin likethis randomly just for laughs Id be like yeah, thats pretty clever/funny. But Arenas is just constantly, constantly seeking attention in juvenile ways and it gets old and annoying so quickly. He was overrated in Washington because he got to chuck and put up high PPG on a so-so team in the Eastern Conference. Put him a team that is contending and requires, defense, ball movement, some semblance of intellect and hes all but worthless. Yeah, blame the knee. All the sudden people think he used to be derrick rose with his reliance on explosiveness and athleticism, and now bc of the knee he just cant compete. Dude was a chucking stat padder whose value is greatly diminished on any serious team of quality. Combined with his pathetic attitude and level of maturity, THAT is why hes been playing for the Guangdong Magic Ducks during prime years of his life.
The dude is a clown through and through. I dont hate the guy, if he wants to be a buffoon and piss money away, wonderful. But the dweebs here that mae excues for this loser are just embarrassing.

I understand that logic but don't understand the people that feel like that. It's his money and although he's doing nothing at the moment to earn it, he had a great peak and at the time, deserved it. I never ever, EVER understood why people care what random strangers do with THEIR MONEY.
Poor people are like "he's wiping his ass with hundred dollar bills, he should give it to me instead".
I'm sure millions of people have that weak ass mentality. Well poor people, you're in America and the opportunities to wipe your own ass with hundred dollar bills are just as great as Gilbert's. Just get up off your lazy ass and do something in this great country.

Gilbert Arenas has been known to post things online that's seem to piss people off as well judge his character. Also seems quiet evident that he has no intention to grow up.
Oh well, it's his life. He's out of the league and this a reason contending teams or even any team in the NBA will give him a look. Not going to deal with his drama.

In other words, poverty is a personal problem, not a social problem.... Which is not true...
There are people who work 50 hour weeks and are still poor, so it's not a matter of being "lazy", because that person probably works more than most do on this message board... It's more so, the access to great education, great surroundings, great upbringing is not equally shared in society. Growing up in a poor neighborhood with parents who themselves are uneducated comes with it's disadvantages that are out of the individuals control. There's a low ceiling for that child, generally speaking. Poverty may very well be inescapable.
None the less, I think Gilbert probably worked hard to get his initial contracts. Just saying though...

That is definitely one aspect as well, as is the one I mentioned. It's not just one mindset. For me, I don't view it as him shoving anything down my throat. It actually motivates me to say "I want that lifestyle".
What I view as shit being shoved down my throat is the ridiculous amount of money that banks lose in fines every year and the insane amount of money they hoard. That's a completely different story though.

That is the case for a lot of people but I don't feel the slightest bit of remorse for MOST of those people, just a few of them. The second part I bolded is the group that I have sympathy for. Aside from that, most of the 50 hour a week employees have no motivation, work-ethic or ambition to do anything else. So many people in this country prefer a job that requires little brain usage. When you see a 50 something year old working at a sandwich shop do you expect me to believe that for 20-35 years of their mid-life, that elderly person couldn't muster the time or resources to put themselves in a better situation than working 50 hours a week making sandwiches? I'm not going to write a disquisition on this topic for various reasons but that's part of my logic.

At least Kanye renting out the stadium, and buying that ring, helped to support/pay a lot of people involved, from grounds crew of the arena all the way to whomever crafted/sold the ring, etc. That is money relatively well spent, and provides positively to the economy.
As for Arenas.. his money, so I don't particularly care, but I can think of many more useful things that can be done with it.
