convincing the world he didn't exist.

I have to admit that is a good bit of marketing. Religion has some pretty nice inbuilt defense mechanisms. I bet they are the envy of all of the other industries.

you should go to a church and hear the sermons
sounds like an aa meeting, sales pitch, therapy

Its disgusting how obvious it is and people eat it up
replace god, jesus, sin with alcohol, drugs, self esteem, respect or a regular sales pitch
and its literally exact same thing

and yeah their built in self defense, guilt trip, fear laden pitches are hilarious

Dont belive,Burn in Hell
The Devil trick
I ve heard a couple which made me want to deck the preachers in the face

A man who had his family killed was being tested under the will of god and strength in belief, then it was switched to he didnt devote his time enough to god, didnt have a strong enough belief

The most palm smacking is them quoting scrIpture where it says give your wealth to servants of the lord and church(ie meaning give church, the people there money)

Then they quote scripture to instill fear in you to believe and take known local or recent big time tragedies and twist it and say they didnt believe enough,or it was their time to go to heaven,or they didnt believe enough in the lord and didnt sacrifice themselves mentally, physically, spiritually
They didnt break themselves unto the lord

They even quoted scripture into paying off your debts and donating to the church

Real face decking worthy crap

Funniest one was talking to a believer and he overhear I didnt believe from a little kid and he said I was practicing Black Magic and was the Devils work
and called me a warlock and the little kid ate it all up and believed it
It was utterly disgusting to see how brainwashed the kids are and are becoming

I see how Church people get away with unspeakable crimes and towards the kids, females

If nobody got indoctrined as a kid or had this instilled in them from dchool, movies,Lunatic type prents like these or family
And they read tge bible when they were older
They would think its beyond ridiculous

and its tax free and has the literal control of its believers
The leaders can get away with anything,Literally Anything
Nobody questions it

I agree this stuff is bizzare. Im still amazed America elected a President who worships at a church known to have declared September 11th was something innocent American families deserved and had been asking for. Obama was probably at the very same service at which Jeremiah Wright proclaimed that kids losing their mothers and fathers for the rest of their lives, never getting to know them or be loved by them again, was a good thing because finally "Americas chickens had come home to roost".

We literally elected a man President who believes that.

All because he was the first major black candidate and liberals have an obsession with aggressively flaunting their "tolerance". That was good enough for them when it came to deciding whether or not to elect an extremist fear monger.

Ive been to some really crazy churches.

Dudes ranting and raving, people flapping their hands all over the place and fake passing out.lol

My favorite is when people "speak in tongues" -AKA gibberish, harry potter snake talk.

And the fact that people buy into this stuff is :facepalm

Dont get me wrong, i believe in God, but all these false churches manipulating people and just doing absurd sh1t is sickening.

Just remember, our President goes to a church that believes all the parents, children, fire fighters, police officers, and other New Yorkers who died or were permanently disfigured or mutilated on September 11th were deserving sacrifices to appease a vengeful lord. That is what is preached at the church our elected President chose to attend regularly throughout his adult life.

We almost elected a Mormon, I don't think we need to go there.

Why are you bringing up something that's not as bad, and didn't even happen? My comment was about Barack Obama's election and presidency. What does a footnote in election history have to do with that?

SMH @ Americans who actually believe all of your presidents have been as religious as they make the voters believe they are. These are highly intelligent people. Come on now.

"Once upon a time all the men of mind and genius in the world became of
one belief--that is to say, of no belief. But it wearied them to think
that within a few years after their death many cults and systems and
prognostications would be ascribed to them which they had never
meditated nor intended. So they said to one another:

"'Let's join together and make a great book that will last forever to
mock the credulity of man. Let's persuade our more erotic poets to write
about the delights of the flesh, and induce some of our robust
journalists to contribute stories of famous amours. We'll include all
the most preposterous old wives' tales now current. We'll choose the
keenest satirist alive to compile a deity from all the deities
worshipped by mankind, a deity who will be more magnificent than any of
them, and yet so weakly human that he'll become a byword for laughter
the world over--and we'll ascribe to him all sorts of jokes and vanities
and rages, in which he'll be supposed to indulge for his own diversion,
so that the people will read our book and ponder it, and there'll be no
more nonsense in the world.

"'Finally, let us take care that the book possesses all the virtues of
style, so that it may last forever as a witness to our profound
scepticism and our universal irony.'

"So the men did, and they died.

"But the book lived always, so beautifully had it been written, and so
astounding the quality of imagination with which these men of mind and
genius had endowed it. They had neglected to give it a name, but after
they were dead it became known as the Bible.'

True story.
