I mean this team is made up of full time scrubs and Kobe is just his usual self who will be gunning from everywhere when he gets back...

I see this team not making the playoffs this year at all.

if kobe comes back day 1 of the regular season and is healthy enough to average 25-27ppg on the season

47 wins

if kobe comes back late but still manages 25-27ppg

40 wins

if kobe comes back half the player he once was or doesnt play much at all

32 wins

We got Nick Young along with Gasol. We good.

Gasol will avg 19ppg 8reb 6ast 53%FG while Kobe is out til Thanksgiving.

Nick Young will avg 18ppg

Lakers win 48 games this year.

I don't think it will be a big surprise if they miss the playoffs. Heck they were on the verge of missing the playoffs last season and this years version doesn't look as good even if Kobe is healthy. At best they max out as a 8-6 seed.

They basically switched

Farmar/Young/Johnson/Kaman

for

Metta/Jamison/Howard

They finished 28

their defense is going to be bad. if they can't make up for that with offense, they are going to lose a lot of games.

So you're saying if the lakers can't score more points than the other team then they lose the game?

Interesting thought..

Unless Gasol performs very well they will miss the playoffs. They will be the worst defensive team in the NBA. Scrubs will routinely go off for 30 points on them.

Between 7th-10th seed in the West. I honestly think they ll miss the POs but i hope i'm wrong.

They aren't winning more than 40 games and have a good chance to completely crap out if Kobe doesn't come back 100% from injury.

There's a reason Vegas has them around 34-36

I think this is going to be a real rough transition period for the Lakers. You can't replace Kobe Bryant. He's never going to come back and be the same. Even when he does they won't be able to put together a contending team before Kobe retires.

The only real hope that franchise has for the next few seasons is that Lebron decides he wants to play for for them. Even if they get Carmelo that won't change one thing. He'll just be a chucker that plays no defense.

Suns, Jazz, and Kings are the bottom of the barrel in the West. Just above these guys you have the T-Wolves, and Trailblazers. I think you can include the lakers in the Wolves and Blazers tier.

Lakers fan would be happy about Farmar and Nick Young.

Plenty of teams tanking for that guy.
Going to be a tank fest in the NBA.

This team has a chance to make it and turn heads...but health is a MAJOR factor. Team chemistry is key here and how Coach Pringles leads this team is another. I'm hoping for a big season by Gasol. If Nash is healthy and gets 10 dimes a night all will be well. Kobe's come back to of course is a make or break. But at the end of the day...

- Health
- Pringles game plan night in and night out
- Chemistry

At best I honestly think they get to the second round of the playoffs.
It would be sweet if they match up against the Rockets first round and they beat them.

F*ck Cowards.

Wow, a D-league team making it to the second round of the playoffs. Now that would be something else.

One of the worst defensive teams in recent memory. If Kobe plays and is himself, they'll top out in the high 30s as a fringe lottery team barring something miraculous. If he misses a lot of time, top 5 pick in the draft.

That being said, I do think they'll make a major move around midseason.

i think the one thing most Laker fans look forward to this year, as opposed to last, is that this team seems genuinely happy. It was painfully obvious that there was locker room turmoil all last season. but that turmoil seems to have headed east to houston.

So the team may not be the greatest, but the effort and chemistry will be there, which is an complete 180 compared to all of last year.

Laker/Kobe hater here. They're gonna make the playoffs. These guys have Pau Gasol who's severly disrespected by Kobe fans and Steve Nash will have a chance to do what he does best and that's run the offense. I like Kaman. I think Nick Young will be ok. Fack the Flakers though.

They will be fine offensively. Defensively? Could be the worst defensive team of the past 10 years. Swaggy P isn't gonna help that.

They got home calls on the road and were gifted at least 6-12 points in every game I saw them play (not a small number). And their only defender left the building. If Nash is allowed to run the offense and Kobe puts SOME effort into D they could scratch into the 8. I don't know why they would want that though. I expect them to trade Pau before the deadline and watch Kobe chase Kareem.

I think they are preparing for 2014 more. They could still make the playoffs though, but that defense is going to be terrible.
