Who do you think is currently overrated the most in terms of consensus standing with the majority of fans or media? And please pick someone BESIDES Kobe, Lebron, or Melo since we know those three would otherwise dominate the answering due to various agendas.

So not including Kobe, Lebron, Melo who would you say is the leagues most overrated player either in the media or with fanz.

Im taking James Harden. I know he put up big games last year in the reg season but I feel like a LOT of guys can score in bunches if given the greenlight. That doesnt make them elite difference makers. I do not see Harden as an elite player in terms of overall impact, and thats how I judge elite players. To me hes never been THAT impressive really. Im not sure how he obtained marquee status. But I see people ranking him as the leagues top SG (Id take Curry and Wade ahead of him) and even a top 5 player.

Sadly, Kyrie Irving... He's got ridiculous skills and his game is among the most aesthetically pleasing in the league, but when the media starts hinting that he might become the best player in the league, they're going a bit too far. Top 10, he can definitely reach that level. Top 5, perhaps. But the best, I don't think so.

Stephen Curry, James Harden and Paul George.

I think the Warriors are overrated as a whole, they will struggle to make the Playoffs. Most have them at 3 to 5 in the West which is rather ridiculous.

Kyrie Irving without question. People act like he's some great player, when he's just another unathletic chucking guard that doesn't play defense or pass. Most one dimensional player in the league.

I'd say Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. They really really really drive home the fact that stats shouldn't be then end all be all in basketball discussions.

As much as I love Kyrie, if we dont have a significant win increase this year he's with Kevin Love in the empty stat department. Curry is hilariously overrated now and Roy Hibbert and the entire Pacers team is overrated really.

Paul George. He had a couple of good games and moments in the playoffs, but people seem to ignore the number of times he would disappear and have subpar games.

James Harden. He made top 5 of ESPN's list, but he's not even the best player on his team. But then again it's ESPN, and they know jack shit about sports.

I'm trying to figure out why they are naming him? He's not being ranked above any PGs that he shouldn't be ranked ahead. He came into the draft being underrated, lots of people thought it was a super-weak draft and the Cavaliers should've taken Derrick Williams, but he turned out much better than we and a lot of Cavs fans expected and now he's overrated?

Paul is better
Rose is better
Westbrook is better
Parker is better
Williams is better

He's in the league where he should be with the Curry's, Wall's, etc.

Derrick Rose by far.

Lebron and his need to have someone to bail him out. Overrated defender, overrated skill level(crabstep and bulldozing are not skills).

No, he's not. Both Curry and Wall are better. Curry has glass ankles but his defensive awareness is orders of a magnitude better. On offense it's closer but I would still take Curry. Wall has shown signs he can actually run a team, and is miles better defensively than Irving.

Irving is probably in the 10-15 range of point guards in the league, around guys like Lawson, Lillard, etc.

James Harden.

10-24-2013, 10:39 AM
I hate to say it but CP3. People keep giving him a pass for being a Conference Finals virgin. By this time in every other superstar's career, they're judged for how far they got in the POs, no matter the competition. CP3 just gets a pass every year, which would only make sense if his current team wasn't loaded last season.
