View Full Version : The one thing that will stop a team from winning a title this year

So here is how this will work, hopefully it doesn't get troll fested, I really am hoping for good responses.

I start by naming a team, the first person to reply explains what the one thing is from stopping this team is from winning a title.

Than, the person who replies posts another team, repeat the first step

Edit: I also want to point out that it is OK to reply to other people's reasons, but keep the list going accordingly to the original post.

So I'll start with the obvious:

Miami Heat

Even if everyone is healthy on OKC, can they beat Heat? Probably not, it seems real Finals will be ECF.

Bulls.

Rose playing bad BECAUSE of injuries can be one thing.

The Warriors, I believe it is the heavy reliance on the 3-pointers. In a playoff series, if the opposing team finds a way to lock down on them from shooting the 3 point ball, it will be serious trouble.

The L.A. Clippers

True, but in 2011 Rose played bad because of the Heat's intense and focused defense on him, and not because of injuries. :pimp:

Hmm...the Clippers...I've got to go with their bigs not being able to go up with more physical and (as of now) skilled bigs on some of the other teams :confusedshrug:

The lack of a super star player being able to preform in close games. Paul George may be getting there, but is he the person everyone will be expecting to take over with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter? Not yet.

Brooklyn Nets

Injuries. That's the only way I see the Nets not working out, but given their age the odds are not in their favor anyways.

Houston?

Dwight being useless in close games, poor ft shooting, liability in the 4th etc.

Let's mix it up a little bit;

I will attempt to break your thread...

Any team other than the Heat? They can't beat Lebron and the Heat.

Reasons the Heat may not win? Poor health.

Game over.

Can't think of anything.

No really I can't.

Alright maybe if we can't make shots? Too much reliance on D-Rose again and offense implodes.

Toronto Raptors!

Cleveland Cavaliers?
2 All-star centers, whom both play under 20 games -> get exposed by Indy, Chi or Brooklyn due to lack of size, and not skilled enough to hang with Miami. (Assuming they have a decent season and make the playoffs)

My bad, forgot to put up a new team - Let's do the Grizzlies.

My favorite team :(

The liability of their two big men, Jordan and Griffin. They have some games when they both go 60-80% from the FT line, than some games when they go 20-40% from the FT line. Having them in late in a game where fouls happen a lot more is a huge concern.

It's OK to have one big on a team who isn't a great FT shooter, but never two.

Atlanta Hawks

:oldlol: I didn't see this. You don't like McGee bro? Or do you just think he'll do something stupid at the worst time....

No explosive scorers. I like Horford but I don't see anyone on that team who can get you 30 points if you really need it. Also, they just lost Josh Smith who is a better player than people give him credit for. It will be hard to replace his production.

No Interior defense and very little interior offense for that matter. No solid 3 man yet (I know the rookie is there but needs to prove himself).

New Orleans Pelicans

Not sure if all those guards can play together. Tyreke Evans, Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers and Brian Roberts. They have too many guards, they need to turn one or two of those into a trade for a nice Center. Then Anthony Davis can play PF where his body is better suited and they can bring Ryan Anderson off the bench to be an explosive 6th man.
