Not a big MVP guy, just wondering what everybody thinks.

No matter what he do he won't even come close.
MVP standings:
Lebron
Durant
Rose
Lebron will win it. Not a Lebron stan but this is the truth

Best record in the league, Blake Griffin doesn't have gaudy numbers, 20/10/3.5/2.5 steals, on 50+/37+/87+, and 1st team defense.
With LeBron and Durant having somewhat average seasons by their standards. Especially Durant (who I think wins it).

If clipps end top 2 or 3 team he'll have a very good chance

Have another 2008 or 2009 type season on an individual level, drag Blake Griffin's under performing ass to the promise land ... best record in the league / west would help too. CP3 needs to be capitalizing on all the loaded talent on that Clippers team. The West is more open than people realize. I'd argue it's the weaker conference now.

#1 seed. 20/12 player. At least 8 game winners

Well that isn't true given history of the award in the following seasons:
2011
2007
2006
2005
2001
'97
'93
'90
'89

Why do people ask these questions? The answer is clear. Have a top 2 record and you have a great chance. It doesn't have to do with being the clear cut best player in the league. The best player on any can get the MVP as long as their team is one of the best in the NBA. I will go as far as saying if they have the best record in the west and Miami has the best in the east, CP3 will get it just bc Lebron has gotten it so many times.

He averages 4.4 rebounds for his career, come on man. He can do better than 3.5

He's going to have to have the top record in the West, and/or at least the top 2 record in the NBA. But, I think it's LeBron or Durant's to lose atm. Maybe Rose.

Meh, the rebound stat was the arbitrary number in there. Once I post points and assists, I feel it's necessary to post rebounds. Picked an average number for a PG.
Best record, not living off Blake, 20/10 on near 50/40/90 numbers, and all NBA defense. I think that would be enough, barring a historical season from Durant or LeBron. And I do think it's needs to be the best record in the NBA because if the Clips don't get it, it will probably be OKC (Durant) or Miami (LeBron) with the top record.

LeBron / Durant / Rose falling by the waste side?

Voter fatigue will likely replace Lebron who has said he rather have the DPOY award. So CP will have to have the best record to beat out Durant or Rose. DH could have the best year but he's not going to get MVP this year unless he has a Wilt season. Anybody else is going to be a long shot. So he is part of a three man race. The Clippers should have a better record than OKC. He will need to be around 18 and 10 as well without missing more than 8 games.
Its possible.

How about 15 and 10 with no d, sounds pretty average hey well that's a Nash mvp so no he doesn't need monster numbers just one of top team records

Finish with a better record than the Heat and Thunder (best record in the league..), hit a few game winners, have a regular "Chris Paul" season.

Top seed...60+ wins
BoutPractice
10-25-2013, 08:38 AM
Top seed in the West with over 60 wins, Paul averages at least over 18/9 on good percentages, LeBron coasts during the regular season, the Thunder end up with an underwhelming record (or one of the top two players get injuries), and Rose is too inconsistent.

He needs to have 65+ wins, put some numbers like 20 and 10, and ultimately hope that lebron tears his acl.

if cp3 wins then it would be like nash in 06 which was definitely undeserved, unless he really steps his game up but it would be hard for him going against melo, rose, durant and lebron and others tho

Yeah for CP3 to win he'd have to have the best record in the league.
The Clippers and CP3 have to have a better season than Lebron and the Heat.
Media has probably penciled Lebron in for MVP already
