Worth it if he plays his best like he did during his Bucks primetime. He just got healthy, is in shape. Just has to show he's worth it.

I love the move because I love Bogut when he's healthy. I think he's going to have a big year.

Is the new thing to pay people before they earn their contract now? Or has that always been the case and only now I'm noticing it?

Bogut's a really good center when he's healthy. When...

could jump to as much as 42 million.

was their rush to do it to try and keep him from hitting the open market? Or kind of apologize for the Dwight thing

Either way, I like Bogut

Considering what bigs get paid nowadays and IF healthy he is top 3, I think this is a smart move.

Hate the fact that so much of the Warriors success is predicated on health.

They should wait to see if he can stay healthy

36 million for 40 games a season :applause: Bravo Warriors

in my opinion, this was because steph curry got 11 last year and they realized that by signing early, they can get a steal. bogut at his best is definitely a max player, and if they get bogut + curry for about 25 mil, that's a really solid deal. they don't want to be like okc where they end up paying everybody the max and have to give up championship aspirations in doing so. warriors fans should pray that he doesn't get injured again and end up like biedrins though

They might struggle to keep both Barnes and Thompson now, but it definitely spells the end of David Lee. What would represent value for him though? A smallball 4 and a backup big?

It seems if he is hurt and doesn't play enough games he only gets 12 million of it.

What a terrible deal purely from the point he has not been healthy at all for what seems like forever, if he's healthy he's worth ever penny but that's a long shot.

Bogut is worth 12 million per even if he plays at 75%. At this price I have no problem with the signing.

Bogut will never be healthy. He's the white Andrew Bynum.

He earned it. Showing up and negotiating is 80 percent. Jason Kidd got the coaching job by asking.

Bogut did not like the Dwight Howard trade talks so he wanted the Warriors to prove they still wanted him. So in a way the Warriors asked for it by trying to shop their guys.

bogut at his best is a complete game changer. the warriors know that without him, they aren't going to go anywhere. the game is played on both sides, and bogut is a top defensive center, making him worth a max contract.

Bogut will never be healthy. He's the white Andrew Bynum.

Except that Bogut's main injuries have been freak accidents, and he's added to them by trying to come back too early.

Compared to Bynum's being structural, and he's added to them by doing dumb stuff when he's meant to be rehabbing and then sitting out entire seasons with constant rumors of him being lazy.

But yep, apart from that they're identical. Excellent post.

No one knows his condition better than the Warriors' management, I'm gonna give them the benefit of doubt for this signing.

They need to do what Jalen Rose suggested. Play Bogut as the 6th man, limit his minutes when possible and play small ball with Lee at 5 and Barnes at the 4.

Hopefully you can get Bogut through the whole year in decent shape and then think about uping his minutes in the playoffs.

of course.

This was a must extend. You need good defenders like Bogut and Iguodala around David Lee's atrocious defense.

Lee's defense could be benefited this year from his conditioning in the off season

Even if he makes $42mil, he'll be underpaid. Hibbert makes max(justifiably so), and Bogut is better on both ends of the court.

Bynum makes 10 mil a year so why are some poster getting their panties up in a bunch by this?

Exactly.

Don't know why people here are questioning the contract?

Bogut is worth that money and more. Healthy or not, they get themselves a discount by signing him early, by taking on the risk. Now thye have a better chance at keeping the core to together for a few years, by signing their best players to a discount.
