Case and point: Chris Paul can't take over games.

All the Chris Paul fanboys can whine at me all they want but this guy was useless at the end of the Clippers-Lakers game. A requirement for a top 3-5 player in the league (which he is according to A LOT of peoples' rankings) is that he be able to take over games. Now I'm not saying this means get trigger happy with the ball necessarily, but it means use your star power to find a way to come back. Just look at this game. He is being schooled by the Lakers' bench. And if you wanna say well the the rest of the Clippers sucked, you're wrong, because everyone else besides Crawford had a decent to great game. Sure his assist numbers are pretty but right now its just so frustrating to watch him. I have nothing against Paul. I know he's supposed to be a good guy and a hard worker but if any Clippers fans think that he as your best player is going to take down the Heat, Bulls, etc. you are very sadly mistaken. This guy will be exposed.

And therein lies the dilemma with Chris Paul he's always "efficient" and has a nice stat line but this is the game where he should have had a 28 and 8 statline. He should have come out and made a statement. You think Magic and Isiah Thomas would let Jordan Farmar of all people come at them? :oldlol: they'd attack him every play.

Sometimes you watch him and hes a beast and takes over, other times its like hes not even on the court.. Hard to agree with everyone who says hes a Top 3-5 player, I guess this season is the one where he proves either the fans or haters right. Paul can take over the games. The problem with him is that at times he can be too unselfish when his team needs him to be. I think its cost the Clippers at times.

Has a game where he'll take 6 shots in a loss... will say after the game that he needs to be more aggressive... next game will put up 30/12/5/2 in a win.... next game entering the 4th he'll have only taken 4 shots again. Has been the same story for a LONG time. Is amazingly clutch though, capable of just switching "it" on in the dying minutes like tonight.

But sometimes you wonder... what would happen if he played 3 quarters like that instead of 6 minutes? Would he even need to enter clutch mode at all?
