I'll admit, I thought by this point he would add some different dimension to his game. But he's still only 24. Ironically, despite less Clippers wins, I liked him more when he wasn't paired with Chris Paul.

So weird how he has barely improved from his rookie year.

He showed lot of potential in his first season, but he hasnt really progressed since then. His post game is ugly. He s not a reliable scorer. He is not clutch, he is actually anti-clutch with his bad free shooting. His defense is average.

Limited game inside but I think he is a jumpshot away to get to that next level. Clips will not win anything until he makes his presence felt in the halfcourt. He reminds me of Amare, he was a beast then took his game to another level when he started to make those jumpshots . Defensively they both have shortcomings.

He's actually regressed significantly, he used to have a handle now it's gone and the rest of his 'skills' (lol) remain the same. Once his athleticism goes due to age or injury he will drop off the face of the league and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets waived. He's the type of player that will fizzle out in a few years and in about 7 years one day someone kid will find a rookie highlight mix and ask 'whatever happend to Blake Griffin?!"

Also lets not forget the leagues new anti-flop campaign has really hurt Blake's game, he's a shadow of himself w/o being able to flop.

We used to have a poster on here that said he was better than CP3, and a franchise player that you 'build around' and a top 5 all-time for the PF position:

Kelly Olynek!!

Seriously though. It would be great if he could hit that face up 15-17 footer more consistently, but more than that, it's just so goddamned slow. For all his athleticism, he just doesn't seem that quick, particularly facing the hoop. And the shot fake is so ****ing slow that absolutely no one plays it, so he can't use it to get to the hoop.

That and footwork, and a brain, and defense. Then he'll be an ok player, as it stands he's garbage that can occasionally not be entirely useless in some matchups.

Honestly, I got more respect for Deandre than I do Blake. Deandre has actually made significant improvements over the last 2 years whereas Blake has barely improved if not gotten worse like cavsftw said.

since he got all that hype in the rookie/sophmore game and the rigged dunk contest I started to get worried with his attitude, he was acting like he was already a super star when he still had massive holes in his game. In some threads I was saying this to clippersfan86 and he wouldn't listen but it looks like he has bought into the NBA marketing and decided not to work on improving anything. Deandre on the other hand has really impressed me with his work, I didn't think he'd really be any more than just an athlete who can block shots and dunk but he looks a lot more refined. I don't see the clippers winning with Blake, it's hard to have a guy who acts like a super star but seems to enjoy the off court side rather than the on court and the hard work, sets a bad example for your team mates too.

Playing with Chris Paul hurts his development. Having a guy that spoon feeds you alley oops all game long makes you 1 dimensional and he doesn't get enough real game situation reps to practice everything he;s work on in the offseason enough for them to become fluid.

So he scored what he averaged as a rookie and we're supposed to be impressed? Pretty sure everybody accepts he's an all star caliber player but I expected so much more from him based on his rookie year.

I know this is off subject but blake would make one hell of a tight end. I wonder y he never stuck with football. Its more money in football too. Especially at the tight end position. Imagine a 15 year career. Dats at least two big contracts. Not including his rookie

The guy is literally terrified of contact, he may have a body for football but he is mentally barely able to cope with the close contact and proximity of NBA defense let alone the full impact of an NFL football line.

LeBron James would make a hell of a tight end. Maybe even a wide out.

So you know, when people are talking about Blake as a player, they're not talking about his numbers at this point. Reason being that he was fully capable of putting up 23-10, every years he's been in the league. What people are critical of, is really not his numbers at this point, but the fact that when they watch him they see no visible improvment in his game. To be honest, you can coast through the regular season with obvious flaws and nice stats, but during the playoffs your weaknesses are highlighted by tougher defenses, that are more focused on you.
