In May, Gawker said it had been offered a video showing Ford apparently smoking crack cocaine. Editor John Cook reported that he viewed the video and described that it features Ford holding a clear glass pipe in one hand and a lighter in the other.

According to Cook, Ford subsequently lights the pipe and inhales. The next day, two Toronto Star reporters wrote that they had also viewed the clip, on a smartphone in the backseat of a car, and noted that they have "no way to verify the authenticity of the video" but that it "appears to clearly show Ford in a well-lit room" and "inhaling from what appears to be a glass crack pipe."

Ford denied the allegations, calling them, "Absolutely not true."

According to sources, the police had been aware of the alleged video for weeks before the Gawker report.

In August, Ford was asked if he had ever smoked marijuana. Ford said "I won’t deny that, I smoked a lot of it."



On October 31 2013, Toronto's police chief said he had viewed a video that "depicts images that are consistent with those previously reported in the press."

The Associated Press reported that the video had been "deleted from a computer" and that it "appears to show Mayor Rob Ford smoking from a crack pipe."

TORONTO - Ford refused to step down Thursday in the face of police confirmation that they have seized a video that media outlets have alleged appears to show him smoking crack cocaine.

After avoiding reporters on his way in to city hall shortly after noon, Ford emerged from his office hours later to face a crush of cameras and say he sees "no reason to resign."

"....I can't (defend myself) because it's before the courts and that's all I can say right now."

Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair announced Thursday that officers examined a hard drive seized in "Project Traveller," a drugs and weapons investigation and recovered a digital video file of Ford that had originally been deleted.

"That file contains video images which appear to be those images which were previously reported in the press," Blair said.

Blair, who has personally watched the video, said it's believed it relates to events at a home on Windsor Drive. The home is referred to in court documents released Thursday in Lisi's drug case by a confidential informant as a "crack house."

"As a citizen of Toronto I'm disappointed," Blair said. "This is a traumatic issue for the citizens of this city and for the reputation of this city and that concerns me."

Blair said they have no "reasonable" grounds to criminally charge the mayor based on the video.

But they have charged Ford's friend and occasional driver, Alexander Lisi, with extortion for allegedly making "extortive efforts to retrieve a recording."

The video will be presented in court as part of Lisi's extortion case, Blair said.

A new video has surfaced that features Ford ranting incoherently about an unidentified person, apparently threatening to “kill” and “murder” him.

“I need fukcing 10 minutes to make sure he’s dead,” Ford says in a video posted on the Toronto Star website.

“I’m gonna kill that fukcing guy. I’m telling you, it’s first-degree murder.

“I’ll rip his fukcing throat out. I’ll poke his eyes out. . . . I’ll make sure that motherfukcer’s dead.”

Ford came out of his office minutes after the video was released and said he saw the video and admitted it was authentic.

“I was very, very inebriated,” he said.

“I’ve made mistakes. All I can do is assure the people that I…I don’t know what to say, I just wanted to come out, I wanted to, you know…”

He took long pauses between his statements, clearly having difficulty speaking.

“It’s extremely embarrassing,” he said.




“The whole world is going to see it. I don’t have a problem with that, but it is extremely embarrassing. I don’t know what to say. I’ve again and again apologized.

“When you are in that state…I hope none of you have ever or will ever been in that state. That’s all I can say.”

The Star purchased the video for $5,000 and that it was secretly filmed on a cellphone.

The context of the mayor’s rant is unknown as is the person he is speaking about. He appears to be in a living room, with several people off-camera.

When asked for context the mayor only responded that he was “extremely, extremely inebriated.”

He mentions he is angry at a person who has called the Ford brothers “liars, thieves.”

A trainer who consulted with Rob Ford as recently as Tuesday night on a health “game plan” was convicted in the U.S. for steroid trafficking and is currently in the midst of a 12-year ban from coaching in Canada for administering steroids.

Ford’s criminal lawyer, Dennis Morris, has said the mayor is spending up to two hours a day exercising, has revamped his diet and has received support from a medical doctor.

The posts were deleted not long after he was contacted by the media. He deleted his entire Twitter and Instagram accounts later Wednesday.

The tweet was sent out under Moscariello’s alias “Valerio Mosca,” the name he uses with the Team Body Pro Athletics website, the bodybuilding supplement company Mutant Nation and on several socia media accounts including Facebook Youtube, Twitter and Instagram.

However, Moscariello’s full name is used several times in various pages of Team Body Pro Website and in other Internet postings....
