Key points

Clippers won last years series 3-1 blowing the Kings out twice at Staples centre and splitting the Kings two home games 1-1 in which they were tight and physical contests


Kings were very impressive against Denver considering they got nearly zero offensive production from the starting and back up SG,SF,PF positions they looked greatly improved on defence thanks to Mike Malone.


Clippers made a statement against the well regarded Warriors with the team finding a excellent balance of Chris Paul god mode, DJ/Blake flying around and Dudley/Reddick making long distance shots

DeAndre Jordan vs. DeMarcus Cousins

If you were to compare DJ now to last years playoffs you probably would not believe it's the same guy (other than the free throw shooting), DJ has improved a lot and will no doubt be looking to take another scalp in going up against the also improved DMC. DJ has been a beast on the boards and is impacting games like never before, Cousins is coming off a post up clinic he put on the Nuggets in which he pretty much got the entire Nuggets frontline in foul trouble. Last time they meet in the preseason DJ dominated the first quarter and than Cousins stormed back in the 3rd should be a nice match up. DJ has to stay out of foul trouble causes DMC has completely annihilated Ryan Hollins everytime they played pretty much.

PF

Blake Griffin vs Patterson/Thompson/Hayes

Blake Griffin has offensively pretty much had his way with the Kings for most his career other than the last two games. Blake will have probably 4 different people guarding him throughout the game (Cousins included), it will be important he not settle for jumpers and take Patterson/Thompson down low and simply overpower them. The Kings PF have to produce some points if the Kings are to have any chance and sag of Griffin make him shoot since they are both more than mobile enough to cut him off when he's driving.

Dudley/Barnes vs. Salmons/Outlaw

Dudley looked really comfortable as a Clipper in his 2nd game after a rough debut and has had fantastic games against the Kings in the past as a member of the Suns just drilling wide open looks seemingly everytime he plays us. Salmons continued to play awful and Outlaw reminded solid in limited playing time. I'm predicting Dudley has a big game this on paper is a match up the Clipper should have.

Reddick/Crawford vs. Thornton/Mclemore

If the Kings were to never see Crawford again it would be to soon, the dude went berserk on the Kings in the last regular game off last season pretty much single handily winning the game. Crawford and Reddick should get plenty of good looks with no one on the Kings with Douglas gone capable of staying in front of CP3. Marcus Thornton has been super unimpressive the Kings desperately need positive energy from him and Ben Mac while statistically had a crappie debut he did some super impressive things in particular coming up with some huge defensive plays/taking quality shots and nearly pulling off dunk of the year.

CP3/Collison vs. Vasquez/Thomas


Vasquez and Thomas have been dynamite for the Kings during the preseason and start of regular when both have been healthy, Vasquez is running the team to perfection and Thomas is just exploding on teams and racking up fouls drawn. In saying that they will have a tough night ahead going up against CP3 who when angry/motivated can do some exceptional things as we saw. Interesting fact in the last two games between Vasquez and Paul, Vasquez has scored a total of zero points.

Hoping for another close game with a bit of nasty in it, the Kings should have a decent chance since they are more rested and at home but you still have to give the Clippers a solid edge due to CP3 and simply being a superior team.

imo his post game is incredibly unorthodox. The guy gets baskets simply based on sheer strength. His footwork is still awkward (check Coach Nick's latest vid) which is surprising considering we know he knows how to operate down low based on that 44 pt Indiana game. Free throws are still yucky, what with that stupid hitch he's incorporated into it. And the mid-range % are still below average.

He's still pretty young, I guess, considering it took Deandre 6 seasons to be the guy he is now.

Honestly, based off three quarters, but the Kings can end up being a fringe playoff team. These guys are real solid, thought they would be in the cellar with the Suns, but shit, was I wrong.

Cousins is real well as well. His maturity is showing and Isaiah is a damn spark plug. I don't like Salmons starting at the three for them though.


DeAndre is playing his worst of the three games so far, and Matty boy is pretty iffy.

guess it has something to do w/ the rules regarding a 3rd Alternate Jersey. Seems right since the black jersey is different than the usual away purple for the Kings. Not sure about a limit or cap on uses throughout the year. Either way, I still prefer white jerseys for home games. If it ain't white, it ain't right..

If Blake just improved on 2 of the 3 things he lacks (midrange consistency, post footwork, free throws) I have zero doubt he'd put up monster stats every game.

Last night CP3 had 6 TOs but that was overshadowed by Curry's 11 (I can't even manage 10 in 2K). 3 turnovers is pretty high for Paul but I'll take the W.

All our wings are so solid. Feels weird after having to watch Ryan Gomes play an "important" role on this team.

Cousins is coming along great. I'm eating crow right now. Thought his issues would get in the way of his talent but the guy can play. Still needs to smarten up though (re: those late fouls there).

Blakes decision making was fantastic this game coming off the pick and roll he was lasering passes to the wings for in rhythm for open looks excellent display of passing ability easily his most overlooked effective trait.
